    Spicy chicken bulgogi
    Ann N.

4.5 bumped to a 5. If you're looking for some authentic Korean dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, especially ones that involve sashimi/raw fish or crab this is the place to go! I tried their sea bream sushi and it was quite good. I will come back to try things like the Hwedupbap. I had the seafood tofu soup. It has an authentic taste to it - it could have a stronger flavor but I understand the masses may not enjoy a super funky flavor. My partner got the spicy chicken bulgogi and it tasted like a home cooked dish. If only for a hot second, I saw the cutest old lady cooking in the back! Home cooking??? Service was super kind and helpful in explaining since it was our first time. The place itself was very clean and modern. We will be coming back!

    Bone in LA GALBI

First time trying this place and my favorite was their spicy marinated crab, this item isn't always on Korean restaurant's menus. I'll definitely be returning for them, so delicious! Also enjoyed their bone in short rib, spicy bulgogi, some sushi. I wasn't a huge fan of their oysters, thought the choice of sauce and garnishes can improve. Service was great, the restaurant itself has good ambiance, sushi chefs are towards the back of the restaurant where you can watch them chef it up during your dining experience.

Surf & Turf and Tiger Roll. Both YUMMY

The sushi was delicious!! My first time visiting Seoul Shi and I really enjoyed the Surf and Turf roll flavors stacked for days! The Tiger roll was also delicious. Wasn't pleased with the edamame and miso soup the were less than meh like microwaved in the bar area. Service was ok, but they were short staffed and hustling, hopefully this was just a one time thing.

Halibut, sea bream, salmon, tuna x2 and yellowtail

For tucson this is amazingly fresh and tasty sushi. I have had Michelin-rated sushi in Japan so I am a bit picky. This was a massive pleasant surprise. The pieces are nice size too. I am used to the stingy LA pieces. Highly recommended.

    Pork dumplings

We tried an array of Korean dishes and sushi on our visit, and were impressed with both! We started with fried Pork Dumplings and Japchae. The dumplings were good, but the Japchae was much better. The dish was quite large -- it would be good to share among several people or have it as an entree. The mix of noodles, mushrooms, vegetables and meat was delicious, and the mushrooms in particular carried the flavors well. We also got Bulgogi, which came with rice and miso soup, the Chao Chao Roll, and the Reverse Rainbow Roll. The sushi rolls were great. I always love when places have few unique house specials; Seoul + Shi delivers on that front! The Chao Chao Roll was mildly spicy, with fresh, smooth fish, and a perfect pop of acid from the lemon. The Reverse Rainbow Roll was excellent as well. Both rolls were lightly sauced with ponzu, which I found to be lovely without any additional soy sauce or other dips. I absolutely want to try more of their specialty rolls! We definitely over-ordered because we were excited, but the leftovers we took home were still great the next day.

    Soft opening

We were invited to the soft opening of SEOUL + SHI, owned by the same amazing folks behind Kotu (one of my favorite Korean BBQ spots). We weren't sure what to expect, but it was absolutely fantastic! We got to sample a generous selection from their menu, and everything was delicious. The sushi was incredibly fresh with beautiful presentation. The tofu soup was a standout, my friends loved it! It comes out sizzling hot, so be careful and let it cool for a few minutes before digging in. The restaurant is just a few doors down from Dickman's Meats on Oracle. For a soft opening, the place ran like a well-oiled machine. The space is open and clean, and the sushi bar tucked in the back corner adds a nice touch. I'm already looking forward to coming back soon. Definitely make an effort to try them out, you won't be disappointed!

Nice new restaurant. We enjoyed the Japchae a lot. We also had spicy pork bulgogi which was tasty but not very spicy. I had the Eel Dupbap: a fusion dish with eel on rice. It was quite tasty. Overall the meal was quite expensive but it was very good.

    Spicy chicken

Wow, definitely a fan. Everything we had was delish! Chao Chao roll, Tokyo Roll, spicy chicken (we asked for extra spicy), & bulgolgi. Chicken and bulgolgi were so tender. Great service as well.

    Spicy Braised Black Cod

Omg! A wonderful dinner with well seasoned and flavored dishes. Our orders tonight included the seafood pancake, the spicy pork bulgogi, Tiger roll and the spicy braised black cod. While they are known for their sushi... the braised black cod entree was the table favorite as I have not had cod flavored and tasted so delicious before (or for that matter radishes served with the cod that have tasted so good). Of note, the cod does have bones ... which I gladly picked out. Added bonus were the complimentary soup and salad that come with entrees... my dining partner does not do salad but ended up wiping clean their salad plate. We enjoy dining at their sister restaurant Kotu... but we appreciated how the same dishes were seasoned differently (ex pork bulgogi or the fish cakes) as well as options for a whole new menu to explore. Service was attentive. The space was sleek and cozy. Lots of parking available. Definitely will return to try out more of the menu... however our big challenge is the future is having to pick between the two restaurants as they both have such delicious food!

    Hwedupbab
    Jacqueline D.

Great food, great service, bright and airy. Been here over 5 times and and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the hwedupbab which is like Korean poke salad, seafood pancake and seafood soup

Seoul+Shi is great. Friendly staff, amazing food, and fresh fish. It's really nice to have a choice between hot Korean dishes, grilled seafood, cold seafood, and sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful offering suggestions and explaining dishes.

    Chao chao roll
    Shannon B.

Our first time at Seoul+Shi and we will be back. We had the Chao Chao roll, beef bulgogi, japjae, calamari, and the banchan that came with it. The beef bulgogi was melt in your mouth, the roll was incredible, the calamari was a regret. The breading looked like an onion ring, and it was like chewing on a car tire. So get everything else, except that. The service was fairly quick, and the appetizers did not come out first. Our server was super nice, and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. Great date night spot.

Now open! Korean & sushi in one spot! I opted for the Japchae (my fav) to share and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. Both were good. My partner tried the Eel Dupbap (nice eel but not a lot of veg or rice).

This was not what we expected but the staff was friendly and 1/2 patrons at the food hall were eating sushi. The stalls have big energy today and lots of patrons are searching for a seat. Why not give them a chance? The menu is fairly varied for a small pop-up with traditional and deep fried sushi rolls. The female wait staff is handing out egg drop soup samples to everyone, ever those eating pizza and gyros. Looking around, these rolls are huge. We chose the Sonoran roll with shrimp tempora, spicy tuna, spicy crab topped with seared salmon and yuzu sauce. This roll was flavorful and spicy. Another roll was the Samurai with shrimp tempora, cream cheese, avacado wrapped in soy paper deep fried and covered with spicy crab / shrimp mix baked in a spicy aioli and eel sauce. This was our favorite roll with a pop in the tempora shrimp and an uncious taste coupled with a bite. Our third and final roll was the heart attack. Another spicy roll with shrimp tempora, avacado, cream cheese topped with jalepeno, spicy crab and chef sauce. Again, another good roll and a ton of food. This food mall is in an unassuming neighborhood with a smiling server who is hustling like crazy. The sushi was good, unique and tasty. It was a huge amount of food. Give this hard working staff and chance, she is enthusiastic and working hard. To the staff at Samurai Sombrero who are working hard and obviously, not a trained sushi chef. To the public, take a chance, give Samurai Sombrero a try and judge for yourself.

I opted for the #3 lunch special (3 pieces of sushi and a roll + miso soup) for $14. All reasonable, given that it's sushi, but I'll be honest, this still-growing-boy needed a bit more after that! Staff was attentive to all entrees and drinks (refilling my friend's diet coke 3 times!) and had zero problem with doing 4 separate checks too. Chirashi was similar with abandon of fresh sashimis and rice. (see photos below) Their sushi boat ($59) is always a delightful feast for multiple people. Their servers are very friendly and attentive to all customers too. I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers.
