What a lovely Sephora location! It's spacious, lots of walking room, and the staff are so friendly and easy to work with. My mom was looking at some salt and stone products and she was confused that the product packaging was different. A Sephora staff member helped us and informed us that they actually changed their product containers due to a change of components. Super informative and my mom was so glad to know. This review is for Gen/Jen or Genna (I'm so sorry if I spelled it wrong). This girlie is the reason I would come to this Sephora. She gave me a bunch of recommendations for products to try and was super sweet, like customer service 1000 out of 1000 if I had to put it in numbers lol. About this location, Santana Row generally has a good amount of inventory as I feel more people go across the street to Valley Fair. I love this location because the employees are actually really nice like Gen! Store is always clean, which is a huge plus. Also, I can grab a bite on this area. read more

I came to pick up some dry shampoo and make a return for an online purchase. I had bought a gift online that went on sale the next week so I wanted to return the full price purchase. I gave the sales associate the receipt and when she told me the refund amount I said, "That doesn't sound right." I assume she had my purchases pulled up because she asked if the receipt was for the December or November purchase. I asked her how much I paid for the item on the other receipt and she told me, "It's the same." I went ahead with the return since she confirmed I paid the same price for both orders and also paid for the dry shampoo. She ran it as an exchange (which, unbeknownst to me, will be another pain in the ass). As I walked out the store I had a nagging feeling that there was something wrong so I double checked my online orders and the price was indeed different and I was refunded the discounted price instead of the full price. I went back in to try to fix the problem only to be told they cannot void a return and when I wanted to repurchase the item at the discount they refused to do an override. I decided I didn't want to spend money at this location so I returned the dry shampoo and they gave me merchandise credit because it was ran as an exchange. I understand there are policies and admitted defeat as it was clear they were not interested in providing me with any type of consolation. So I went online and chatted with a representative and they offered me $20 off my next online purchase which is much less than the refund I should have received but better than nothing. I will never, ever, purchase from this location again. I'll continue to do my returns as needed but I'll make sure I do my homework and know not to rely on the competency of the workers. read more

I love the customer service in this location. The staff are welcoming the moment I walk into the store. I usually walk quietly like a cat, minding my business without any greeting. They are also eager to help offer recommendations and samples when I need them. I went home with a skincare set and a few makeup/skincare samples. If you're unsure about your skin type and the tone of concealer, you can ask a staff member to identify your skin with their app/device. They are way better than the staff of Valley Fair across the street. read more

this is the worst sephora my friend has ever gone to. most of the workers were just gossiping with each other in the middle of the aisles when the store was busy with a lot of shoppers. it was difficult to get the workers' attention when i needed help. i also asked a worker if she could help me pick a blush shade for a brand i've never tried after i swatched some shades already. she proceeds to tell me to just do it myself and that she can't help me with it. i've never experienced this problem before because at other sephoras the workers are very willing to help customers choose shades for them. read more

I don't normally review shops but would like to give the Sephora on Santana Row a 5 review for the excellent service. They staff the store incredibly well and everyone that I spoke to from the cashier to the staff helping with products was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I went through the line to do a return and had questions about an old gift card. The cashier was fast, direct, and understandable. Then, I needed help with a product. Laura found exactly what I was looking for and then when the line started to wrap around the store she helped me do a mobile checkout (with two gift cards!), secure my birthday VIB present, and I was on my way to enjoy the rest of my Sunday instead of wasting away in a line. This review is for more than just the store. (Which was absolutely immaculate!) but also for the employees and how they treat each other. The time i spent in the store i noticed the employees treating each other with so much love the store was a bit empty, so I noticed a few different interactions with the staff and I have to say, it makes me happy to shop at a store where the employees are happy and kind to each other. They all really seemed to be each others best friend and cheerleaders, they were all so chipper and eager to assist me and the other person in the store, I'll be back soon! read more

Always friendly staff make checking out new products fun and easy. The gentleman who helped me today was lovely and had great recommendations for eyebrow products Staff isn't on commission but they clearly have their favorite products and will steer you accordingly. I also really like their Clean designation on the labels so you know what to expect on the ingredients. The thing I don't care for at Sephora is the mass market feel (crowded and lots of folks sticking their fingers into the product testers) so I do tend to order online more than going to the stores or even more often go to Nordstoms. I love being followed around as I'm looking at skincare products with my bf and then being asked if I need help! Yes, I did see two employees literally whispering and pointing at me and then following us around asking if everything is okay? Um, yeah it was until you decided to profile me. Better yet, the teenyboppers ruining the testers are unsupervised, I'm sure that's definitely not as important as following a paying customer around just because she's dark skinned! I brushed it off but when I asked for a bag for my item, the worker was looking at another worker as if I was "weird" for asking for a bag as a PAYING CUSTOMER. I've been here a few times and it's not welcoming at all! Each time I left without making a purchase. I kept hoping the experience would improve, but the people working here seem so miserable and the makeup displays are messy and seem unclean. This was at 11am on a Saturday! I can't imagine how it is as the day goes on. The company should do a secret shop at this store, but not sure they care. Go to the one across the street at the mall. I've always had trouble finding a makeup artist who can do my makeup the way I like it, but recently, I tried a 60-minute service with Samuel R. at Sephora in Santana Row, and he is amazing! Samuel is incredibly talented, and my makeup was beautiful and flawless--I loved it! I'm so glad I found him. This 5-star Yelp rating is mainly because of Samuel R. I forgot to complete the feedback after my appointment (sorry, Samuel!), but it would have been all 5-star ratings--10/10! I will definitely be booking all my future makeup appointments with Samuel R. and referring my family and friends to him. Additionally, I've found this Sephora location to have the friendliest staff, the best customer service, and very talented makeup artists, which is a huge plus. read more

Horrible customer service. Everyone except Genevive was so rude! A girl stood directly behind us (waiting to restock the perfumes) just watching and did not even offer assistance. When asked who helped me, I told the cashier no one - yet she still called to ask who was helping me. Another customer just shook her head at how unpleasant they were. Genevieve was the only nice person who actually acknowledged us and provided service with a smile. The rest of the staff should take pointers from Genevive. We spent $400+ too much there and will never go back to that store! read more

I'm torn I've been in here with great service and no issues in the past but today I went in while running errands. I was wearing my husband's shirt and some jeans. I admit I looked scruffy. I said excuse me and an employee literally acted like she didn't see me. Jessica was the only nice one who opened the perfumes so I could purchase it as a gift. I guess they don't want money unless you are in your work attire or look put together. Kind of crappy. I hope it's a one off because frankly their point system sucks and they are losing tons of business to Ulta so there is no reason for their sales ladies to act like they are too good to help you . They are lucky the perfume was out of stock other places and I needed it for a gift otherwise I would have left. Shopping in stores should be a fun experience. read more

Mary helped me color match today. I haven't been using makeup for a very long time and went last week to grab something I thought matched my skin tone. Umm it was straight up orange on me, I started cracking up. Finally had time to go back and get color matched, and MARY did an amazing job color matching me. We tested several and she was really patience even though they were swamped. I bought two foundation, one that was lightweight for everyday use and one full coverage for special events. I just used both and like them so far. I asked about the other foundation I bought last week, and she said I can just return within 30 days! tysm mary! read more

Lauren and Genevieve were so nice and made my shopping experience here the best I've ever had at any Sephora! They genuinely wanted to help, were thoughtful and knowledgeable, friendly and warm! They weren't on any agenda to sell but just made me feel welcomed, which makes me feel so comfortable to shop to my heart's content. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Sephora. I made an appointment two weeks in advance for family photos, which included makeup services. This morning of my appointment--just two hours beforehand--I received a call letting me know that the makeup artist had canceled. No efforts were made to accommodate me, and they didn't offer any alternative solutions. It was clear that they didn't value me as a customer. The lack of communication and professionalism was disheartening, especially for a service I had looked forward to. I expected better from a business like this and will not be returning. read more

Being a first time Mom I haven't been to Sephora in years. I asked my best friend a good product to use for a face scrub and was recommended Kate Somervill. I was hesitant in buying online vs going to the store I should have purchased online. It was a hour before closing and no one greeted nor enough staff to help the people around. I found my product and saw a different packaging. Went to the register and asked if it was the same product as what I was looking for. I had a fake lashes application appointment prior to my maternity photoshoot. I got there, and it was crazy busy! Apparently there is a sale going on, and guys, when there is a sale...watch out! These ladies be crazy! Anyhow, I found someone there and told them I was there for my appointment. Within a couple of minutes, Preyanka was there and ready and asked if I knew what kind of lashes I wanted. uhhh no clue. So, she gave me the tour, and made it pretty simple, and I ended up getting one that wasn't too dramatic, but cat eye (ambrosia, I think? too lazy to get it out and check, sorry guys). She was gentle with the application and made sure that the lashes stayed on and tested it out by pulling on them, and sure enough, they stayed! She went above and beyond and asked if I wanted eyeliner, and I went for it, so she did some liquid eyeliner to make the cat eye stand out even more. She did a great job and the entire appointment was pretty quick! She asked if i wanted to purchase anything else, and helped me become a member so I could get a 10% discount, and I didn't have to wait in that horrendous line to check out, she just too my card there --- so amazing! If you are unsure about applying your own fake eyelashes, I definitely recommend booking an appointment here --- Preyanka is your girl! oh. parking sucks. but you probably already know that because it's a typical saturday at santana row sorta thing. read more

I really like this location, a tad more than the one inside Valley Fair Mall. The employees here are generally very friendly, patience and helpful; they offered help without giving me pressure. Why not five stars? Because when I was asking one of the "consultant" to color-match me in store, she didn't seem to know how to color-match; she matched me with something that's 2 shades darker. I had confused look on my face but she just told "that should work for you" then walked away to help another customer; luckily another employee saw the situation and came to match me with the right shade. Overall, I still prefer this location and I have been coming here pretty much since they first open. And if you follow them on Instagram, they sometimes offer prizes to their customers during holidays. read more
