Erin is outstanding (well she is more that that). Probably one of the best people I've ever met. She has helped me out on a few different occasions and each time she is not only happy to help but is full of knowledge of the products. I can go to her and describe the kind of product I need or am looking for and she will find one that BEST suits ME! She is all about catering to you and making sure you have products that are going to work for you and your skin type. Also when it comes to perfumes, I feel like I took a class from her. She has like an unlimited knowledge on everything in that store and the perfumes too. I told her what scent I normally wear and kind of what I was looking for. She help me dissect so many different scents and helped me find a new favorite. I have gone home and loved each product she recommended and picked out for me (& my makeup looks a million times better). Every time I go to Sephora I look for Erin because with her there is a feeling of friendship and comfort. Other times I've gone in there not knowing what to get, went home with products that weren't right, then would have to return them. I'm so happy that Sephora has Erin. I am 56 yrs old and tired of buying cheap makeup and going to friends house's that were having makeup parties and still ending up buying and throwing makeup out. I went to Sephora, love it, love it! I will never go anywhere else to buy makeup again! The store makeup technician helped me pick out makeup, the colors I needed for my skin color and showed me how to put it on God Bless her! I had my makeup done a few weekends ago for an outdoor Indian wedding. I got a lot of compliments. My makeup did not budge during the seven hours and yet it looked so natural. While on vacation my mom and I came into the downtown San Luis Obispo store to get skin care and make up ideas for myself to put on my Christmas list. The SLO is one of the friendliest and nicer Sephora stores I have been in. It was clean and organized. The employees were super friendly. We were greeted by everyone we came into contact with. Erin was our consultant. Erin was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and legitimately friendly. She gave me lots of great ideas and recommendations based on my skin type and what I was desiring to achieve. I left the store with a list she made for me, which made remembering what I tried and may want to purchase easy. She generously offered to make me samples so that I could try the products without pressuring me to purchase them on this day and I appreciated that tremendously. Such a waste of money and disappointment to purchase a product that you do not like. If I lived in SLO this would definitely be my go to store and Erin would be the consultant I would seek. She took her time explaining each product and its benefit. She was patient and seemed genuinely interested in helping me find a new beauty regime. I loved the products she chose for me by asking me what I wanted out of the potential products I would purchase and using her knowledge to help me find just the right ones. This was by far the BEST Sephora experience I have had and the BEST beauty consultation I've ever received! I actually really liked all of the products Erin suggested for me and sent samples of. My husband and I came to this location for mens cologne and we both left with this feeling like we were emerging from some parallel universe where people are nice, helpful, friendly and welcoming. We were greeted at the door, after walking over to the cologne wall we were greeted by a staff member that took her time talking about different scents and what cologne to get based on his birthday. She even gave us a sample of the cologne we were interested in but decided against. Everyone was smiling. When we went to pay the line went fast and the person at the counter helped me easily find my savings card info. That is no easy task for most stores so the fact that she looked it up, informed me that I wasn't receiving email and changed it for me, then set it up so I can look it up with my phone number, was amazing. She gave me whatever samples they had available that day and when we left, everyone was smiling and telling us to have a nice day. Literally, every staff member we passed on the way out did that. We came in expecting to feel weird looking for mens cologne at a place primarily known as a makeup store but left with a new respect and trust. They made us feel very comfortable. These people are amazing! I make the 30 minute drive to shop for my makeup here. Everyone is always so knowledgeable and helpful, it's never hard to find an employee if you have any questions or were wondering about a product. They are always super helpful and offer samples and recommend the product(s) you might be interested in or are looking for. They aren't pushy and don't have a snooty attitude like certain other makeup stores. All around a great place with reasonable prices. read more

Always get good service there. Sometimes if the store is REALLY crowed, you may have ask for some help, but still, they are great doing it, and they are patient with the customers. I know, because I ask a lot of questions, and they are always smiling, being polite and helpful. That is what matters. The Russian lady is my favorite by the way. She is fun and smart. I'm always thrown off by how much smaller this store is than other Sephora stores I have visited throughout California. I have to say, most of the times I've gone in, I'll start browsing through products hoping that a consultant will come up to me and help me pick a shade of foundation, lipstick, etc., but they choose to ignore me. I'm not sure if its a race thing, because I'll see an older white woman come in and they get helped right away, even though I walked in two minutes before her and I still haven't been assisted. On those occasions, I have just walked out annoyed without buying anything. There has been only one time last year where I went in and and a nice older lady helped me pick out products and I ended up spending more than $250. Otherwise, I try to avoid going in and do most of my shopping online. read more

Well, for anyone who likes makeup even remotely this place is like heaven. But everyone who works there is so nice it makes it an even more positive experience. I was greeted right away, and several employees asked if I needed help finding anything but not in a pushy way at all. They were all so friendly and polite! I ended up buying several items, and asked for a sample of a YSL foundation. Since that foundation is $60 a bottle I was worried they would be hesitant about giving out a sample of it but it was not a problem at all and she gave me a generous amount right away in a little bottle. I looked when I got home and it ended up being the wrong color, but it wasn't her fault as I told her what shade I needed and she got the bottle from the correct slot, but someone must have switched them up. But I gave it to my sister to use so it's not a problem. :) Overall, I really enjoyed shopping here and would have literally spent hours browsing if our meter wasn't about to run out! read more
