I recently visited Serandi Salon and had an appointment with Melanie, and it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had at a salon. From the moment I walked in, I felt a distinct lack of professionalism and care that I had hoped for based on the glowing reviews I had read online. Firstly, the salon itself was in disarray. The ambiance was far from inviting and I could tell there was bad professionalism right from the beginning. I had to wait for over 30 minutes past my appointment time, and there was no apology or explanation for the delay from Melanie. This lack of respect for my time set a negative tone for the entire visit. When Melanie finally attended to me, she seemed rushed and uninterested. I tried to explain the style I was aiming for, but she seemed more focused on anything else than listening to me. Throughout the appointment, she was distracted and did not provide me with what I wanted at all. She quite literally did not care at all about the client at hand. Melanie's inattentiveness was appalling. She did a horrible job, leaving it styled nothing like what I had asked for. It almost seemed she was doing it intentionally, which is how bad it was. This lack of focus was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel like my appointment was not a priority. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, Melanie was dismissive and defensive, claiming that it looked fine. Her attitude was unacceptable, and she made no effort to rectify the situation or offer any solutions. Her reactions and actions when handling her clients are unbelievably disrespectful. She clearly does not know how to do makeup let alone hair. Her service should be considered as a complete letdown. The unprofessionalism, poor quality of service, and lack of attention to customer satisfaction make it a place I would never recommend. If you're looking for a salon that values its customers and provides quality service, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I will certainly not be returning to Melanie ever again. read more

This was the worst hair experience I've had. I am really bad at dying my hair myself so my siblings suggested I try a "professional". I had heard only good things and appreciated that they took me without an appointment, but I ended up spending 350$+ on a dye job that looked like I did it myself, while blind folded. First the color was completely wrong. When I told them what I wanted they suggested I try something different (as according to them what I wanted might not be the best for me). I took their suggestion (as I assumed they were professionals and know what they are doing) and changed my plans. I found pictures and described what I wanted in extensive detail. Second my hair was bleached multiple times to avoid my hair from coming out an unwanted shade, which it did anyway. Also the extra bleaching ended up being unnecessary as I wanted dark shades of color for my hair. Once the color was applied it was patchy and spotty. It looked like a teenage who wasn't sure how to do their hair, but where attempting to rebel against their parents so anything outside of "normal" would do the job. Imagine the seaweed on the beach on your head. I could have done a better job with a few packets of bleach and a 5$ punky hair dye, which was what they suggested I do. That was probably what bothered me the most. The hairstylist had the audacity to "suggest" I simply go to hottopic and buy one of the cheap dyes they have there to fix it myself, rather than doing the job they are getting paid for and dying my hair the color I asked for. Overall the people are nice, but this was not worth my time and money. I will definitely not be returning and don't suggest anyone gets a dye job done here, unless it's something basic (maybe even for that you might just want to try and do it yourself). read more

No one should ever be Melanie's customer. My friend has had multiple extremely bad experiences and encounters with her. I found out that she is the other woman in multiple relationships. She lies, cheats, and is overall an awful human being. She's a homewrecker and attempts to destroy everything in front of everyone. She mixes her personal life with her work life, which is unbelievably unprofessional. She approached my friend while I was at dinner with my family and friends, and dared to confront our table in front of everyone, claiming she was dating my guest's husband. It's inconceivable how she could do this in front of multiple children, displaying such reckless and toxic behavior. The audacity she has to get all messy in front of multiple children is unbelievable as they are little and definitely did not need to witness anything like that at such a young age. She is far beyond toxic and extremely childish, attacking my friend and even myself publicly with no regard for the situation. To attack my whole table and ruin my birthday in front of thousands is absolutely unforgivable. She has no right to be this wicked and wrong. Anyone with a normal, grounded family and self-respect will not step foot into this salon. It is unbelievable that she is allowed to get away with her awful actions. This woman cannot be permitted to continue her destructive behavior. Her actions are a clear sign of a deeply flawed and malicious character. She must be held accountable for the pain and chaos she causes others for no reason. Avoid this place at all costs if you value your peace of mind and your family's well-being. I LOVE this place. My friend Melissa Lundquist has been doing my hair for years and I was so happy when she decided to work at Serandi. I have been following her around to different salons and she finally found the perfect place. It's beautiful and feels so luxurious and fancy without the high cost you would expect with a salon like this. It's one of the best salons in Southern CA and located in beautiful Laguna Beach so I really like driving out there to see her (I commute over 60 miles from SD, that's how much I love her). Melissa is great, she is the sweetest thing and just loves doing hair and making people happy and it's so obvious that this is what she was meant to do. I never tell her what I want done bc she knows better than me what will look good and she's always right. She's really good at the Keratin treatment too which has changed my life. Sergio, the owner of Serandi Salon is a true artist, both as a stylist and as a colorist. For many years my color was off and did not match my skin tone. The first time that I went to Sergio several years ago, not only did he get the color to perfection, but he gave me a cut like I've never had before and it always grows in, in shape !!!!!!!! Sergio takes the time and listens to what you want and does just what you asked for. He is a very cool man, always kind and professional. Erin Bliss is the absolute best hair stylist I have found in the south OC during my three years here. I have been going to her for over a year and have never been disappointed. I need my look and style to be near perfect and clean cut for the amount of time I spend in front of clients, and she delivers every single time. Arlene is the best!! She genuinely cares and wants you to walk away feeling fabulous. I'm super picky and never trust anyone with my hair, but I love my new highlights and cut! The highlights are very thin and natural looking, and my layers are seamless. She even showed me how to curl my hair in loose, effortless looking curls. Justin is fucking awesome! He knows how to cut men's hair and does an incredible job. Sometimes I think it takes a guy to understand men's hair (no offense ladies!) and Justin doesn't dissapoint. If you're in need of a top quality stylist go see him. Don't be put off by his youth either. I just had my hair done by Melanie yesterday, and I'm so pleased with the results! She worked very quickly, managing to do a full highlight, root melt, toning, and haircut/blow dry in about three hours, which is unbelievable for my long hair.
