I came here for the first time today for a full body massage and I had a wonderful experience. I arrived a few minutes late but the receptionist still made me feel very welcome. She put a heating pad around my neck (amazing) and gave me some treats and water to indulge in while filing out the forms on a sofa chair. The masseuse I had, Renee, was amazing! Serenity Day Spa is a little bit of heaven right here in Redwood City! Teri is the best. When you walk in, you are immediately on a mini vacation. I originally went to Teri for permanent eyebrows. I was nervous, but Teri immediately put me at ease. They look amazing. I went from thinning eyebrows that I had to fill in every day (twice a day if I worked out at lunch) to not having to wear any makeup at all! The result was life-changing. I had my very first microdermabration treatment from Amy two days ago and was thrilled with the results. I loved everything about this day spa. I was greeted by very friendly gals and given water, and a few treats to nibble on. During my session Amy was awesome. She was very professional, knowledgable, and an overall SUPER person. Teri is one of the best in the business. She runs an impeccable company and provides incredible services. I cannot say more good things about her or any of the other employees at Serenity Day Spa. From the physical atmosphere of the spa to the aura and personality of the employees, there is really no spa that competes in my opinion. I have been going to her for over a decade now and will never trust anyone else to wax my eyebrows. Although this is the main service I receive regularly from Teri, I have also had brow tints, lash tints, facials and other spa services here. All amazing and all recommended. I heard of Teri through my mother, who has also been going to her for many years now. I scheduled a 90 minute massage three days post-op due to severe upper back and neck pain. Sharlene was the best! I recently did a facial with microdermabrasia and a peel. It was a great experience in everyway! It was very easy to book with them, and the treatment was outstanding! It was very relaxing, but also I have seen great results. Victoria, who did my facial, ask all of the right questions and made sure I was comfortable during the entire treatment. I was hesitant to go to a spa for skin work. I have heard and seen many horror stories and results from bad work, but I decided to try for myself and made an appointment with Jillian. She greeted me warmly, offered me water and made sure I was comfortable. I was nervous as I was getting microdermabraision, oxygen facial, and microcurrent on untouched skin. She let me know each procedure she was working on and what it would do for my skin. She constantly checked in with me to make sure it wasn't too harsh and to make sure I was contented THE ENTIRE TIME. She asked me what I thought of my skin and offered ways to help in the areas that I was concerned about. She was knowledgeable and appeared very interested in her work--a quality not easy to come by. I was very impressed with the entire process and when she was finished my skin LITERALLY GLOWED. I didn't feel the need to wear make-up (foundation or concealer). What can I say about Teri and her spa other than, "WOW". The decor of the spa itself is breathtaking! Sophisticated, earthy, and most importantly, serene.....As a designer, I start picking apart aspects of design the minute I walk in the door....(I know, it's a curse) but there was seriously not one thing I would change. I have been to plenty of spas in my day that lacked in the design department...and while, this is less important than cleanliness and service in my book....it sure does add to the overall experience to be in such a luxurious atmosphere!!!!! As for cleanliness, Teri's spa is immaculate! I was a bit early to my appointment and was offered tea and a little dish of delicious samples of tasty morsels ranging from nuts to Jelly Bellies! Of course, Teri has no idea Jelly Bellies are my absolute favorite, so this kind of put the whole experience over the top for me! After scouring multiple reviews, I chose Teri's spa for a number of reasons over local spas near me (I live in San Jose): 1) Amazing Yelp deal though her prices are seriously competitive 2) Teri is one of the few to offer the diamond tip microdermabrasion which after some research is apparently the best for pinpointing any number of skin ailments....it's much more precise and exacting and less harsh than the crystal tips. 3) Her amazing, amazing reviews on Yelp! Reviews matter to me...big time...And Teri's reviews aren't just positive...they're GLOWING! Why I'd go back: 1) Teri is so friendly! Like, genuinely a nice soul! 2) Teri and her staff are so professional, from their demeanor, level of grooming, spa frocks, etc! The details are there!! 3) The microdermabrasion was much milder than I expected....Teri has a gentle touch and when she was finished...I said, "Was that it?" 3) Teri doesn't push her products on you! She offered samples to me...turns out, I absolutely love the scrub and moisturizer she sent me home with! 4) Teri genuinely cares about you, your skin, your life, etc! She explains any and all questions you may have with kindness and no judgement! 5) Oh, must add this after-the-fact! Teri KNOWS her stuff! I had these weird baby bumps along my hairline and Teri told me they were most likely caused by my shampoo or a product I was using....! Hidden gem! I came across this place through yelp. Ratings were impressive, so I had to check it out. I went for a facial/microdermabrasion and brought my husband along for a massage. The place is quaint and very intimate. Had I not found this place on yelp I'm not sure I would've known it existed! Now eyebrow tattooing is an intricate art, and one that you don't want to mess around with. Though Kaitlin is new she knows her stuff. Kaitlin puts you at ease. An amazing hidden gem! I've passed Serenity Day Spa multiple times while going down El Camino never noticing it but I am so glad to have found them! I spur of the moment decided to get a facial with my friend and they were so accommodating and kind about setting an appointment up for me (calling estheticians to come in earlier and moving some of the rooms around). Not only were they so accommodating, moving schedules around to fit my appointment, but we were also welcomed into a nice environment with drinks and snacks all ready. Besides that the cleansing facial is 10/10! The estheticians were all so educated and caring. And I left feeling the TLC I truly needed. My favorite aesthetician at Serenity is Teri Crandall. I have a microdermabrasion every month along with a coup d'eclat, lash and brow tinting. She has also done my permanent makeup (eyeliner on my lids, under my eyes and my eyebrows). The first time was 2002 and she has touched me up every 5 years to keep me looking good! One thing I'm very cautious about is what products are used for my skin since I have very very sensitive skin. Teri nailed it with her knowledge of what I should use so there was no trial and error and no skin disasters. She even got me to start using eye cream and a serum before my moisturizer and that made a huge difference. I get a lot of compliments about how great my skin looks and how YOUNG I look! read more

As I near 40 I decided to up my skin game. In two months I've had the best facials of my life. I went to Jillian Mazioum at Serenity. First, she gave me a very custom chemical peel. By asking a lot of questions and talking me through the steps, she learned about all of my biggest skin woes and educated me on daily maintenance. After a couple days I had an even skin tone and visibly reduced pores. I actually stopped wearing foundation for a few weeks. I was so excited that I went back for microdermabrasion. This time I noticed a brighter and smoother look. Totally sold. Jill does a fabulous job.
