Being 6 months pregnant I was looking forward to this massage, and I was not disappointed. Linda's small office was welcoming, she was very nice, and the massage was very good. She used a pleasant massage oil, hot stones and applied light to medium pressure as I needed it. Overall, a very good experience. Today, I got a prenatal massage at the Serenity Zone (by Linda). It was a godsend. Linda was so welcoming. The office was inviting and professional. I had never had a professional massage before, but I felt completely comfortable and well informed about what Linda was planning to do. She had me lie on my right side on a comfortable table, under a clean and light blanket, and she taught me how to place the pillow and cushion under my raised knee to relieve stress on my hip joint. Amazing. She massaged my back and had me switch sides. She massaged the other side of my back and then she helped me sit up so I was partially reclined with a cushion under my knees. She massaged my arms, legs, head, and maybe my hands and feet--but honestly, it felt so good and I was so relaxed that I fell right asleep. If you can get the Groupon deal, it's a total steal. I'd definitely pay $35 for that again--maybe every day of the week. As it is, I'm seriously considering scheduling 3 more appointments with her (through one of her packages) during the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy. When she was done, I felt amazing. And when I came home, my husband said he could see in my face and body that I felt relaxed and happy. I did! Serenity Zone is aptly named, turns out. P.S. I asked Linda if she ever does massage during labor for clients, and she said she's just about finished training to be a doula! She's considering coupling her massage services with her doula services. I think it's the most genius idea in the world. My boyfriend bought 2 Groupons about a month and a half ago. This business was recommended by a friend for their prenatal massages. Upon trying to schedule an appointment beginning 5 weeks ago, the website would not allow me for the prenatal massage I wanted. I called the business, it goes straight to a voicemail saying she no longer accepts Groupons and if any questions, to email info@serenityzonesd.com. I've emailed multiple times inquiring whether I can use the Groupon or if I get a refund and who should I contact. No response for weeks. I still have both Groupons which are to expire January 2019. Am I going to get a response in January when it expires? Is that what I'm waiting for? These little things are a part of customer service and just based on the customer service aspect alone, not being of help to her own business, I would not recommend this place. The massage itself is very relaxing and Linda seems like a very knowledgeable Doula and massage therapist. Linda does offer advice on sleep positions which could be good if you are having trouble sleeping. I personally prefer a massage with no talking- as a pregnant lady I already get enough unsolicited advice and expect a massage to be serene and quiet, not so much talking. But some people may like this style. My favorite part was the use of hot stones on my back. It felt so nice on this area that has been especially sore. Also, parking can be a bit tricky. I happened to park in the designated spot for the spa as specified on the sign only to be approached by someone (who I later found out to be Linda) and told that I could not park there. I said is was there for Serenity Zone and the sign said i could park there. Linda then told me I didn't look pregnant (which isn't really the best thing to say to a pregnant lady) and made some excuse about people always parking in that spot when they shouldn't be. Linda's prenatal massage exceeded my expectations! She's a certified doula, which was a great bonus. She knew exactly what she was doing. Highlights: belly massage to help with digestions (and the perk of her being able to tell me where my baby was positioned!), advice on what pillow to use at night, special propping so I could still be on my back (at an incline). Also, she went OVER the scheduled hour so she could chat with me and give me advice. I've received a mediocre prenatal massage at another place where they just had me lay on my side and then did a half-hearted job at a regular massage. I highly recommend Linda! read more

I'm not a massage connoisseur, but I did have one at one of the best-rated hotels in the world, Nayara in Costa Rica, and this may have been my favorite massage experience ever. Linda was extremely knowledgeable being a doula as well, and gave me some tips on sleeping positions and acupressure points for my heartburn. The massage was fairly light, but it felt nice and relaxing, and the baby seemed to like it too. My favorite part was when she got to my head and neck. I wish I would have found her sooner in my pregnancy! Linda is very sweet and has a cute, relaxing set up. I went in for a prenatal massage and expected the pressure etc. to be consistent with a typical muscle massage, but it was more like a rub-down. It was relaxing, but I still had to roll out my muscles at home, which kind of defeated the purpose. She spent about 10 minutes talking about sleep posture, which I could have skipped in favor of more massage time. I've been sleeping fine (already in third trimester), but she assured me my sleep would begin to suffer and did the spiel anyway. As others have noted, she also does a bit of small talk throughout, which I'm not accustomed to. I understand the massage is about the baby too, but some of the talk felt like typical unsolicited pregnancy advice. For example, she commented that my baby was small for his age (I'm really not showing much) yet, I had just come from an anatomy scan and was told he was a standard deviation above average. Also, the front door is locked between appointments, so don't arrive too early or you will be stuck waiting outside. I am very upset about Serenity Zone. I have scheduled my appointment for prenatal massage several weeks ago and was looking forward to it. If you are a client they require 24 hours cancellation notice or they charge you a 50 $ fee, however they themselves cancelled my appointment less than 6 hours in advance without proper explanation and just via email. I found Serenity Zone on Groupon and decided to try out the prenatal massage offer. I live in Vista so it was a little bit of a drive but I decided I could find something else to do down there that day. My appointment was at 5:45 and traffic was horrible so I ended up getting there around 6:05. I was worried my massage would be extremely cut short. The waiting room was nice with cute décor and Linda came out to greet me so I could sign the 1st time patient paperwork. We went into her office and she asked questions about my baby which made it a more personal experience. Her room had a nice ambiance, the music was soothing, and you could smell the amazing essential oils she uses. She put me in a very comfortable position on my side with my leg up on a pillow which made my hips feel amazing and tension free. She massaged my back on that side and my thighs and legs. We then switched to the other side and she did the same. I really enjoyed how she wanted me to feel the most comfortable I could while being pregnant and while enjoying this massage. She then had me reclined with a pillow under my knees while she massaged my feet, arms and hands, and neck and head. Last she did a belly massage which was light and helps with digestion. She could tell me exactly where my baby was and about what all the different movements meant. It all felt incredible and took away any tension that was there. When we were finished she offered me a special for 3 massaged that I can use before or after birth! You can tell that Linda absolutely loves what she does and ended up staying over time to give me my full massage. Very sweet lady and an excellent masseuse! I bought my cousin a paternity massage for mothers day. She scheduled her appointment and the day of they were closed, she attempted to call and no one answered. I then took on the responsibility of getting her appointment rescheduled and it seems impossible to get a hold of anyone. What's the point of having a landline if no one is there to answer the phone! On the voicemail it states "please allow up to 48 hours for a response" ok that's fine but maybe they should listen to the messages so others can leave a message. I had a prenatal massage here in July. I generally look for someone to help me work out my tension and aches when I get a massage. That is what I request when the massage begins, but that did not happen here. On the flip side, if you're looking for a massage that's very relaxing, this one fit the bill. I fell asleep, which NEVER happens to me. That's a huge endorsement for Serenity Zone for prenatal relaxation massages. I found the advice portion of the massage to be a bit much. Purchased on Groupon for a Prenatal Massage. Parking is a mess. No street parking and the signs say that you can't park in the parking structure, even though I was later told you could. Linda (the Doula) was late to the appointment. I sat and talked to the other business owner who shares the suite with her. While getting set up, she asked me what my twins names were; then proceeded to make a face and said "well, at least that's her middle name so she can't be teased". What an off putting way to start a massage. (As other ladies have noted, she helps you with sleep positions) The massage? It was relaxing, but was more of a rub down with oils and lotions. The hot stones were nice, but I was really looking forward to some strong hands alleviating the tension and light swelling I have in my feet. It felt like she only spent a minute on each body part. She did an abdominal massage which can only be described as someone rubbing lotion into my belly. I really wish the "massage" part would've been more massage and deeper tissue. Overall, it was a great experience to have. I'm happy to have made the hour long drive and experienced a relaxing time. She's great. I got a groupon as a gift for a prenatal massage, been trying to schedule it for over a month now. First, i tried the online scheduling tool as directed on the website and there were literally only 2 available appointments in the next 3 months. I emailed the business to inquire about this - since this is a prenatal massage i was hoping to actually get it while i was STILL pregnant! No response to several emails, no response to phone calls. I called today and now message says they're not accepting groupons anymore...Poor business management and really poor customer service. If you can't handle the volume of appointments and can't return customer inquiries, don't sell groupons. And btw - the groupon deal is still going on Groupon! I just visited here for the first time and Linda was amazing! My husband found the prenatal massage on Groupon and said there were good reviews so he bought it-I'm super glad he did! I immediately feel so much better, pressure on my back is gone, relaxed.. Just overall satisfied. Linda was a breath of fresh air. The suite is tucked behind a residential area so it looks odd at first. Parking is reserved in the garage for customers. Once I discovered she was a doula I was completely comfortable in taking on any advice she had to offer. She is definitely passionate about what she does and it shows in her work. Came in for a prenatal massage. I've never had one before, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. To be honest, during the massage, I was afraid that Linda was being a little too light with her hands, but a couple hours afterwards, my back and shoulders are still feeling great! I have been waiting to write this review since i went in to see Linda. First off let me say Linda is absolutely amazing!!! She is very kind ans sweet and she has a lot of experience and knowledge behind her. I was at the time about to be 7 months pregnant when i went in to see her for a prenatal massage. I was busy looking for a doula, and as a first time mom i had tons of questions. Although i went there for a massage i feel like i left with so much more than a relaxing prenatal massage. Linda i cant thank you enough for all the information you gave me on different sleeping positions to help hip and back pain, doula suggestions, supplements that help with pregnancy issues like the horrid muscle cramps when you wake up in the middle of the night. She is such and amazing person, she truly is. I got prenatal massage but i left there feeling so good. Relaxed and with a little more knowledge under my belt. Some people dont like chit chat or advice during pregnancy which is fine but im so appreciative that when i asked if she had suggestions she really gave me wondeful advice that no one really tells you. Wow!! Amazing. Came here for a prenatal massage. Right when I got on the massaging bed I already felt like falling asleep. Everything was so soothing and relaxing. The music, even Linda's voice.
