Looks like I'm going to be the odd man out, but I did not find Serino's Deli to be worth the hype. I had heard from several people and the reviews that the proscuitto sandwhich was killer. My husband and I were passing by one day and figured it's the perfect time to stop. I had the infamous proscuitto panini and my husband had the meatball sandwhich and a soup. The proscuitto tasted cheap and had a strange flavor to it. My husband's meatball sandwhich was ok but nothing to write home about. I also tried his soup and it was tasteless- just like water. Definitely not worth the prices we paid.. I don't think I'd give this place another chance especially when we have Asti in wood dale and that kicks this place out of the park. read more

Nice and clean inside they have tables if you want to eat inside and when it's nice outside you could eat right in the front they have tables outside even a drive-through can't get that any place else especially with great service and great food . Good lunch. Had lunch here with friends. I got the Serino Special sub. It was good. The bread was soft and fresh. The meat was good, not dried out and the condiments and seasonings added a good flavor. I added hot Giardiniera and olives which added a good and modest heat. I also got a Greek pasta salad which I thought was pretty. I personally just didn't feel like the 6" Serino Special was "filling" in my opinion compared to the other sandwiches my wife and friends got. Serino seems to be a family run deli. It is at kind of an odd location, but they have outstanding food. On this visit, we were picking up a catering order for a New Year's Eve Party. We were getting Italian beef, green peppers, meatballs, and bread. The order was waiting for us when we arrived and was packed up well. The food was delicious. The beef in particular was wonderful, particularly with the green peppers and the French rolls that complimented it perfectly. I also really liked the meatballs which were a good size. I have been on a personal journey as of late. I have been looking for the best Italian sub in the Chicagoland area. I have always had a favorite which was the Alpine Sub in Elmwood Park. I think I have found a new king of the best Italian sub in the Chicagoland area. The name of the sub shop is Serino Italian Deli in Addison. The deli has been in business for over 22 years. It is family run with all original recipes. The family prides itself on making a multitude of Italian specialties. The specialties include pastas, sandwiches, and pizza. All of the other items in this small deli looked delicious, but I was on a mission to try just their Italian sub. Their famous Italian sub consists of Mortadella, capicollo, genoa salami, and provolone cheese. I personally like to also add hot Giardiniera. When I first opened up this massive 12-inch submarine masterpiece I was shocked at how packed it was. The amount of lunch meat and the difference of the sandwich overall size trumps that of my favorite sub shop Alpine sub. The taste is unbelievable. When I take a bite it feels hearty. The taste is so authentic with the spicy giardiniera adding to all of the salty flavors of the Italian meats. The provolone that they use is more on the sharp side, but it also works so well. I have now gone to Serino's two times in the last week. I am now addicted to their subs. The owner is so friendly every time I walk in. He is the first person I am greeted by as he takes my order. He always has a smile on his face and when I say that I want the Italian sub he asks if I want everything on it and with hot giardiniera. I tell him that is exactly how I want it and he always replies with the true Italian way. If you come to Serino's around lunchtime be prepared to possibly wait because it gets quite busy. The nice thing is they do have ample communal seating with large tables set up to sit at while you wait or eat. I am excited to try the other items they have to offer when I get more time on my next visit. Everything else they offer looks so good. I give Serino's a rating of 9 out of 10. This is definitely a place that you need to check out if you are looking for a great Italian deli with a great sandwich. read more

I am hoping that the lunch rush brings out the worst in them because my first experience was fairly sub par. I am willing to try it out again with all of the great reviews but it would have to improve quite alot. I ordered one of the specials of the day which was a hot pastrami on rye. My first issue was that even though I enjoy a bit of fat on pretty much everything this needed to be trimmed more. When you bit into it and your teeth wont go all of the way through resulting in pulling most of the meat out in your first bite - no good in my book. Secondly it was on the small side portion wise. Other delis in the area pile it on and this is not one of the places. Looking past that the flavor was good and the bread was fresh. The second sammie that we ordered was a panini that had tomatoes, fresh mozz, pesto, and some greens i think. It would have been great if it was warm enough to melt the cheese. If your gonna have a panini it at least needs to be heated long enough to melt some of the cheese. Like I said I hope it was just a bad experience during a lunch rush hour because I wanted it to be good. The price was reasonable and the line moved quick. During lunch it was a bit of a problem to park but you can circle the building and eventually find one. Im gonna hit up a couple more delis and then head over here again. I now have a new pizza place. Serino's is excellent when it comes to pizza. I haven't tried anything else. My wife likes the vegetarian and I like the Margherita, we share and I've never had a bad experience. The pizzas cost about $10/ea. You can add a bunch of different toppings if you want. The pizzas have that authentic Italian taste to them. If you're looking for Chicago deep dish, go someplace else, but come here if you want flavor and quality. read more

I love this place. MONDAYS are 1/2 off brick oven pizzas. You can get a pizza for $5 on Monday. I also love their selection of sides that they have at the deli. I always forget about this place and I don't know why because it's fantastic. It's a small italian style deli with a huge menu of breakfast food, sandwiches, paninis wraps and pizzas. It has a small cafeteria style dining area. Everything I've tried is amazing and the price is crazy low when you consider what you get. The Scrambler breakfast sandwich is my absolute favorite. The Sicilian Grilled Chicken wrap I just tried for the first time today was awesome. Always enjoy the side salads and soup of the day. read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots even though I don't frequent it often. My last two visits were for dinner rather than lunch but it was good all the same. For lunch time the place is always packed and finding parking is difficult. But after you drive in circles around the building for a while a spot eventually opens up. It's worth the wait though because ALL of their items are fresh and delicious. My favorite menu item is their wraps. Nice and fresh and grilled to perfection. A true Chicago establishment. If you happen to have friends or business associates in from out of town and you want them to get a true taste of Chicago, this place is the ticket. You get a legitimate experience from the ambiance, the people and of course the food. This really should be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Inside you'll find a very busy open space crammed with tables and bar height seating against the window. It's loud and has a great local vibe. You may be lucky enough to be rung up by the older Italian man behind the register to add to this great experience. The sandwiches are exceptional...truth be told, that's all I've tried so far. I saw Serino's featured on the Yelp Chicago Burbs' Facebook just this morning. I LOVE sandwiches and wood-fired pizza, so of course needed to check it out! Since Mondays are half off pizzas, I ordered TWO (3 hours of hiking gives a girl an appetite, and I love leftovers)! My total was less than $10! + Veggie - 4/5 I really enjoyed the unique veggies and the tang from the sun dried tomatoes! I wish there were a few more veggies since it was a tad imbalanced: mostly eggplant and sun dried tomatoes. + Verde - 4/5 The three cheeses really lent some great flavor..I just wish it had a teensy bit more. The heaping topping of peppery arugula was so fresh! The crust was delicious and chewy. Of course I'll need to try more menu items, but as it stands I'm a total fan of Serino's pizza! I really love Serino's! They have great daily specials, my favorite is half off brick oven pizzas on Monday, you really can't beat it! And $4.99 Chicken Parmesan Sandwich Wednesdays. 4 Stragione is my favorite (and only one I've had) - Ham, artichoke, mushroom and black olive...all my favorite toppings on one very affordable pizza! The sauce is savory and I like the little charred pieces on the crust, you can tell this is a fresh-made brick oven pizza and not just some slab of processed junk cooked on a conveyor belt. I always get extra cheese, though, because I like it nice and gooey and they just don't put enough cheese on for MY taste. The chicken parmesan sandwhich is really good too, there's really nothing on it except for the chicken breast, cheese and sauce, and yet it is far more filling than a sub from Subway and by far more tasty! The only problem I have with Serino's is that they have all these other delicious things like cookies, salads, deli sides etc. all displayed temptingly near the checkout, so I'm always tempted to buy more than I need...I'm a real sucker for their peanut butter cup cookie. OMG it's so yummy and big! This place is, by far, worth driving a little out of the way to pay about the SAME amount you would at a fast food place. You definitely get a more satisfying meal, that's for sure! The parking lot is a bit scary, especially with the construction on Army Trail, but, again, worth it. read more

Their Italian deli is very good for the small space- they have another location in the Roselle area. What a great place for a quick lunch. I stopped in after a scenic route trek home from River Forest and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Sicilian Grilled Chicken wrap, which contains chicken, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato (I ordered without), roasted red peppers, jalapenos, and mayo. It had to be one of the greatest wraps I've had in a long time! So flavorful, and filling. And it was only $4.99, which was a steal. After seeing the positive reviews on yelp we decided to swing by and pick up a few sandwiches. They were pretty good, I wouldn't swing through again unless there were some sort of deal or coupon. I got the 12 inch Pesano sandwich, the bread was good but tough. The muffuletta was decent but had a big chunk of olive pit that almost broke a tooth. The caprese salad was good but it's so basic I would be shocked if someone messed it up. Will maybe come back to try the pizzas as they look very authentic Italian. read more

I've had lunch here several times over the years. It's the real deal. The Italian sub on old school bread is probably the best sandwich I've ever had. Don't ignore the soups or the pasta salads, they are fantastic too. The kids love that they have a freestyle soda machine as well. Highly recommend. read more
