Service was great, and they got my food out quickly. Gentleman at the order counter is very helpful and friendly. Food was incredible. Only issue is the parking and seating. Do not go here expecting to find a parking spot, it's packed. and if you try to park on the side like everyone else, you'll be asked to move. Don't even waste your time, just park somewhere else and walk over. Seating is also limited and packed. Unless you want to be elbow to elbow with strangers, take it to go. Overall great food and service, but for how busy they are, they don't have the space, especially during lunchtime.

My family and I chose this place for lunch. It was our first visit and we enjoyed all of the menu options as well as the nice selection of deserts and cold drinks. There was also a variety of meats, cheeses pasta and more. The gentlemen at the register chatted with us about growing up in south Italy and recommended his favorite caprese with eggplant. It was excellent!

Been seeing reviews about the Italian Beef here, so decided to try it out. First thing, it takes over 10 mins to get your order. There was no line and 3 orders before me. The Italian Beef was average, the beef was thicker than Johnnie's or Jays. I did like the toasted bread. Also, the sandwich size seemed small

Thank you to all the other people who took the time to review this golden spot. I was a few miles away from my home area when I searched under the good old "current location " button, and this one popped up. On that first visit, I had a delicious and highly recommended Italian sub and a slice of pizza. Both were out of this world. Now, on today's visit I went for a bigger, riskier challenge in my mind - the Italian beef. Why risky? Because I am a bit of an Italian beef snob. Not because I believe that I am an expert (although I probably am), but because I can't even eat it if it's not cooked properly. Thanks to those that sent photos, I could see that the beef appeared to be lean and thinly cut like I enjoy. Well, it was more than I could hope for. The owner guaranteed me I'd like it, and he was correct. Tender beef on a ever so slightly toasted bun. Delicious! I'll be back for more. They have a very nice deli case of side dishes etc. I picked up a seafood pasta salad, an antipasto salad, and an olive salad. I shared these with my neighbors at their house, and we all loved them. Summary: A nice clean location with absolutely delicious food and many options. A dedicated owner of a family business who takes real pride in his establishment. Finally, a well organized friendly, helpful staff that provides good service. It's an absolute 5 star place in my book.

I do not have a lot to add, and appears little has changed in eight years! (See pics.) However, there is a drive thru, too, open at 7am for breakfast sandwiches. We were also offered a free taste of any salad or deli meat after we had lunch. (Large Italian sandwich and meatball sub with peppers... delish!)

Sandwiches are on point. Wouldn't go anywhere else for a sandwich in west suburbs. Definitely never fails. Their sandwiches are delicious.

Gave it another try today and even more disappointed. Stop calling this a Philip cheesesteak! It was chopped steak this time.

Great service. Ordered the roast beef sub. Heavy oil dressing and bland. Nothing special.

Good food so close by to work we order from them often. Sometimes the bread is too hard but overall it's a great Italian deli.

The sandwiches from the case are especially amazing, and change every day so you always get to try something new. Their soups are excellent, their pizza is pretty good. i've been coming here for 25 years, never had a problem. i'd like to address some of the one star reviews I saw below don't listen to them, every now and then you get crazy people that leave crazy reviews, this is a five star sandwich shop trust me One of the reviews, the girl ordered only a salad and complained about the price not understanding that this is a family owned place so everything's gonna be a little bit more expensive than McDonald's or whatever you're used to, because it's good quality food. A couple of the reviews, they talked about bad customer service for being put on hold. For those of us who have worked in a restaurant, you know sometimes it gets busy, let me tell you these guys get SLAMMED around lunchtime as they're literally the best place to eat in town for miles. And so around noon, expect to wait a long time, because they're really really really really busy. in fact, whenever I eat here, I try to make it by 11, and if I can't make it by then, I wait until 1pm cause it just gets soooo busy. if you're an impatient person, that just wants to be angry at everybody and lacks empathy than go eat somewhere else; you won't fit in with the chill family vibe here if you love, family values, supporting good people, excellent food, and a nice place to sit down and have a bowl of soup and a sandwich in peace. You'll love this place, you'll be a repeat customer like me. thanks for reading, God bless Pat

The place itself is incredibly inviting, all warm wood, cozy corners, very Bavarian lodge meets Polish soul. It was busy and buzzing, and Polish was the main language at nearly every table... except ours, which was happily bilingual in Spanish. It felt authentic, lively, and full of life. The service was friendly, fun, and patient, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm. We shared a feast: pelmeni, Highlander-style pork shank, kiszka, Real Man's Meatballs (Męskie Klopsiki), and other delicious goodness that made the table groan (in the best way). Every dish was hearty, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. It was also my birthday, and just when I thought the night couldn't get better, the staff surprised me with dessert and sang Happy Birthday in Polish. I loved it. Big smiles, full heart. The food was so good that I stayed behind afterward to order takeout for my husband, stuffed cabbage (gołąbki) and pierogi, because sharing joy is important... and leftovers are sacred. U Gazdy isn't just a meal, it's an experience. One that fills your belly, warms your spirit, and makes you want to come back hungry.

I was disappointed that you cannot get blintzes or pierogis during the week, but what we did try was very good: Cabbage rolls (be sure to ask for sauce) - Pretty flavorful, although if I'm being honest I think the cabbage rolls at the Polish Delicatessen in Glendale Heights are better. Vegetable soup - Soooo good and affordable too. Much better than anything you can get at the store, even in their deli departments. Potato pancakes - The single best potato pancakes we've ever had. So much flavor! I want more just thinking about them. I'm looking forward to coming back on the weekend so we can try the blintzes and pierogi. Visit date: 10/24
