I've been in search of a good Italian deli and I'm glad my husband recommended it! Only bummer is that I'm never in the area! Haha! Serino's had a great selection of subs, paninis, pizzas, salads, etc. I went with an Italian sub! You can't really go wrong with that at an Italian deli! The sandwich was tasty! Omg I love this deli SO MUCH!! All of their food is delicious, and you can't beat their sandwiches especially. We drive thirty minutes out of our way just to get lunch once a week. Their chicken pesto panini is fantastic, and they're one of the few places that has a really flavorful tuna salad. You can't go wrong with anything you order. What the heck am I missing here? My expectations too high based on the reviews? Bad day by the staff? Must be me. Parking is ridiculous. How was this place zoned for a restaurant and a drive thru window? Walk in the lot at your own risk. Enter and see digital menu boards that change so frequently it is impossible to understand what they have. We grabbed a paper copy. We did not experience anyone that was friendly. Cashier takes order and then you move down to pay at another register. Around the corner. Why? Take the order and my money. There were a bunch of employees but god knows why it took so long. I wish I knew you were supposed to sit down and wait for your number to be called. I stood where it said pick up. The Italian sub was ok. The bread was good and the meats of good quality. Special? NO. The grilled egg plant sandwich was warm bread but cold egg plant. It was grilled and chilled. I'm sure it said that on the flashing menu board but my wife missed it. She was disappointed. The long tables jammed next to each other are liked by who? Not us! I came to eat not to meet strangers or listen to their issues. There is plenty of wasted space in this place to make it more guest friendly. How about you lose the 25 feet of wall cooler with massive repetition of bottled beverages. I just discovered this place, and I can't remember the last time I've been THIS delighted by a restaurant/deli. First, the food is SO SO GOOD. Like delicious. The chicken bruschetta sandwich might be the best sandwich I've ever eaten. The margarita pizza is ridiculously delicious. THE CANNOLIS! Notice all the food I'm referencing? I literally discovered this place like a week and a half ago and have already ordered from here 3 times. Everything has been delicious. It's going to be so bad for my waistline. And BONUS: the delivery woman is THE SWEETEST. I'm on maternity leave so I have a tiny baby here, and she's been so sweet to my baby in our brief interactions, chatted with me about her granddaughter, and just been generally wonderful. Several tables where there are a handful of people enjoying their meals. Deli counter filled with antipasto, meats, cheeses. Small ice cream case filled with about 8 different flavors of Gelato. Huge section with drinks. Rich looking pasta sauces for sale. Cute girl enters (te-hee). She is hungry. It's been several hours since her morning Zumba class and after a couple of hours working she is quite tired and hungry and looking for a good, fast meal. Skip to 30 min later. She has finished her Italian sub sandwich and side of potato salad. A "Five Dollar Footlong" commercial comes on the TV and she laughs. "yeah right" she says. She turns to the camera, with a warm satisfied smile, "Serino Italian Deli, where have you been all this time?" This place was so good. Lived in the area for so long and never came to visit. Wow! The breaded steak sandwich here puts Ricobene's to SHAME!!! SHAME!! SHAME!!! Well seasoned and still crispy thin and tender steak nestled in a bed of melty provolone cheese and homemade "sugo". (you can also order it "American style" with mayo, lettuce and tomatoes). My coworker introduced me to this place for lunch today and I was shocked at how busy this little deli is! The place needs a revolving door. It's truly a gem in the neighborhood and everything is made fresh to order so don't come here if you are super tight on time. I love that you can buy little antipasto's for about a buck! You can also get mini tiramisu (which I skipped today but will try next time) and the deli area is packed full of awesome homemade sopressata, capicolla and salami! Just wonderful! Yummy in my tummy. This small place is jam-packed full of Italian goodness. Fresh-made subs, panini, wraps, etc., homemade gelato, antipasto, salad, pasta, cheese, plus ready-to-grab ice cream, chips, drinks, etc... So far I can report that the prosciutto is a touch fatty but very good, the fresh mozzarella is VERY fresh, the dressing is fantastic and the bread is perfect and chewy... Really friendly service and atmosphere. I asked the gentleman in front of me what was good. He literally said "Everything is good here. Super disappointed! :/ Menu item not as described! ~Grilled Chicken Caesar (Pita Wrap) I ordered online and expected it as stated on the website. The meat is actually not grilled chicken breast, but chicken lunchmeat. The romaine lettuce appeared to be standard shredded lettuce. There were no croutons and minimal tomatoes and olives. The green peppers were there. However, no cheese that I was aware of. And the dressing was very watery and more mayo-like than Caesar-like. This place is a nice! I was seriously famished and this was the closest spot I found in the area. The place is clean and they also sell few different goodies aside from subs, pizza and sandwiches. There is no line so I was able to order right after I went in. The staff in there was friendly and accommodating. I was glad that the food was ready after a short while. I ordered a sandwich. It was simple, has a nice portion, with fresh veggies and all in all it was good. It does not have anything special to it but it was good and it was not that bad, in fact I would probably try it again. This is by far my favorite sandwich place in the West Suburbs. Lots of choices, great ingredients, and good prices. I love the Caprese sandwich. Italian bread with eggplant, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, dressing, and seasonings. Fantastic. When I was preggo I craved it almost every day! There pizzas are pretty good too! A very thin crust with your choice of toppings, even eggplant and artichokes. They also have an actually deli counter in case you want meat to go to make your own sandwiches at home. Two stars for the redeeming chocolate puff that I spontaneously added to my order- it was bomb. Unfortunately, I can't eat sweets for dinner. This experience has made me lose faith in common sense. I began my order asking the girl at the counter to confirm with the kitchen that there wasn't any cheese in the marinara sauce they used for pasta. RIGHT THERE is it abundantly clear that I don't want cheese anywhere. Period. But in case, I repeated it 7 more times. 7 times. I ordered garlic bread and asked for no cheese on it as well. The girl at the counter even got the hint that I wouldn't want cheese sprinkled on top. Obviously... After the 10 min drive, I get home to see my pasta covered in cheese. Awesome Thanks.. For all the extra stuff I did to try to avoid this, people still can't think, read, write a note, double check, remember that 5 minutes ago the server asked the kitchen about this... blows my mind. This deli is amazing! Super affordable, delicious food, and everything is fresh. I highly recommend becoming a regular here... Just an example, I got a sandwich on Monday but then my boss bought me lunch... So I saved it for Tuesday's lunch. When I opened my sandwich... My co-workers were like "omg, where is that from?" Once I told them... They jetted out to get subs for themselves. A day old sandwich still looked delicious and btw it was still amazing!
