We have been dining in Franklin for years and somehow just found this place. We had 4 in our group and everybody was amazed at how delicious the food was. We had the ribeye, filet, chicken piccata and shrimp scampi. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The garlic mashed potatoes are the best around. This is a nicer steakhouse vibe restaurant in a shopping strip center in front of a Kroger. Odd, I know. This is to my knowledge the third restaurant to occupy this space. We enjoyed some apps of theirs at an event awhile back, so stopped in to try them in person for a full dinner. Our reservation was for outside seating, but when we arrived five minutes early, the patio was full so we opted for inside, not a problem. This is not Ruth Chris where we usually go during this trade show. We were delighted to find a 5-star rated steak house in Franklin only open about month and 3 miles away. We made reservations for Friday night after trade show a week ago. Strip center, no table covers, noisy, this place ain't going to make-1st impression. After all very delightful experience. Makhyah our server was 5-star and worked so hard making us happy. This was her first time serving she told me. After this tip she may be spoiled but keep up her work ethic and she will take over. Manager/Owner/Chef Jose ran around making sure everyone was satisfied, this place can only improve. Jose born near Jalisco, Mexico adds special flavor in recipes. His "double shrimp cocktail" which my friend ordered looked like classic 4 jumbo shrimp with excellent cocktail sauce; but the shrimp were served in shrimp ceviche (not mentioned on menu) which made it "double". This was excellent and a great palette surprise. We were looking for good steak house and maybe not what expected. Bone-in strip was tasty but so thin, I thought I was in Mexico or Asia. I still give flavor 4-star but not what I expect for $50 steak. "Hand-cut filet" looked excellent and my mates had no complaints and told me to quit bitching about thin strip Any great American steak house, I expect thick juicy perfectly prepared steaks. Well prepared but not thick strip unexpected but I won't complain, only very surprised. I also expect baked potato as side. My surprise that baked potato not on menu. Makhyah was so worried that the kitchen made us baked potatoes but warned it would be 45 min. No problem with more wine waiting Wine list is excellent and fairly priced. We had Austin Hope cab (Paso Robles) which is among my favorite reasonable good cabs. Wonderful wine but served room temperature! Jose said next time we come it will be stored and served 60°. Classic creme brûlée served with raspberries and vanilla ice cream was perfect ending. This is not a classic great American steak house........yet :-) but very enjoyable experience made so by wonderful service and attention. read more

We went for my birthday dinner, we had reservations at 7:15pm on a Saturday. We were seated about 30 mins after our reservation time, I was brought a drink while we were waiting and we had a free bread appetizer once seated. Our service was great, food was timely. I'm really giving this a 3.5. I'll start with the good. As is a theme in my reviews, I have to mention the value. This place has great value with their steaks. Their steak prices are already very fair and it comes with a side included. Most steakhouses use sides to squeeze another $15-$18 dollars out of you but one side that you choose is included with your steak here which I found great. The restaurant also looks nicer inside than I was expecting. It has a cool modern industrial theme with the exposed blacked out ceiling. It liked how the whole restaurant looked and felt. The steak was also good. It was cooked correctly to temperature. The mac and cheese was excellent and the parmesan truffle fries were really good. The service was also good for the most part. Everyone was polite and the waitress was attentive. Where I found a little bit of an issue was with the happy hour situation. This was our first time at this restaurant. I saw online that they have a happy hour so I figured it would be a good time to go to have a steak and some stuff on the happy hour menu and check this restaurant out. It doesn't say on the website that happy hour is just at the bar so I assumed it was a restaurant wide thing as the presumption is that it's the restaurant's burden to disclaim any restrictions. Contrast this to say STK in Nashville where on their website it clearly says what part of the restaurant the happy hour is and on what days. We were seated and I didn't see any happy hour menu so when the waitress came to take our order I asked about it. She had to speak to a manager and I saw them discussing. It sounded like the manager said it was just at the bar. However, they didn't say anything to me about it and gave me the happy hour menu and I ordered off of it. No one was ever rude or anything like that. They were actually pretty nice, but the mood of the dinner kind of changed there, which was the beginning of the meal so you can really say it was kind of set there. I kind of felt like I was asking for a some sort of special discount in public and waiting for the response. I have no problem going to the bar or anything like that but that's not what it says online. I find that it would be better to put the restriction on the happy hour menu online and/or have the greeter tell customers as they come in during happy hour, "Hey happy hour is going on right now but it's just at the bar, where would you like to be seated?" Some other small issues were I ordered the sliders with mayo instead of their special sauce but it came with no sauce. Also when I asked what was in the special sauce the waitress said she would have to check because she doesn't normally work at the bar so she doesn't know. She was very polite but again that added to the weird feeling that was already in the air for me. The last issue I would say is I was probably given and therefore charged for the wrong item. I ordered the calamari from happy hour menu in succession after ordering a few other happy hour apps but that one happened to be charged as the regular calamari app. I didn't mind or even say anything because like I mentioned earlier in this review this place already has great value. I rattled off some negatives but I do think this place is perfect for some people, which I think is their target customer, which is the customer looking for that familiar steakhouse experience, meaning the simple things done well and the way most people expect them. Contrast this to Cork and Cow downtown that has pork belly buns on their menu and stuff like that. Serrato's is your straight forward steakhouse giving you what you'd expect at a steakhouse and trying to do it well. Even though I just outlined my service experience I don't think that would be common. 99.9999% percent of customers would find their service to be flawless as everyone was polite and attentive here. That was my honest experience here, a mixed bag but mostly good. read more

A top notch restaurant! We celebrated our 50th anniversary last night at the Franklin location. What an amazing meal we had! My husband enjoyed the crab bisque soup, NY Strip, sweet potato fries. I loved the wedge salad, delicious filet and lobster, and garlic mashed potatoes. We wouldn't change a thing. The evening was topped off with a delicious chocolate dessert. The food was good, perhaps good enough to make a return visit. However, it was rather pricey. Among the dishes, the calamari stood out as my favorite. We waited at our table for 10 minutes for our water, and we were all thirsty. They brought us our cocktails before the water. When I inquired about the water, the owner seemed to roll her eyes and assured us it was coming soon, even though we were the only customers there at the time. It shouldn't take that long to bring out water. Also, it's beyond disrespectful to roll your eyes at a customer. On a positive note, our server, Jackson, was outstanding. Nevertheless, the overall service was disappointingly slow, especially given the empty establishment. read more

We went here for our anniversary dinner on a recommendation from a friend. It was a little smaller than I anticipated, but very cozy and romantic. Patrons were dressed a little more casually than expected, so just FYI there does not seem to be a dress code. All of our food was phenomenal. The garlic bread appetizer was only $5 and they were huge, filling slices of bread. My chicken piccata was incredible and had two large chicken breasts! I ended up taking one of them and half of the mashed potatoes home with me. The truffle mac & cheese was as amazing as advertised. I highly recommend ordering it. Posting an update! Our party of 9 ate at Serrato's last night. We had a great experience. Our server, Gretchen, was very friendly, fun, and attentive. We had a difficult time choosing from many appealing menu items, but started with a very good Maple Ild Fashioned, and addictive garlic bread. I had "Duo" - two 4.5 oz filets with bran and lobster sauce. It was delicious. Do yourself a favor and also have the truffle Mac! So good. Brussels we're ok... I'd like them a bit crispier. Found this place on our way back from Nashville to our home near Huntsville. It was Father's Day weekend and they only had reservations so we sat at the bar. We enjoyed a couple of drinks. I had a bay breeze while hubby had a mascot mule. For dinner we both had the prime rib which was delicious. The bartender was very attentive while we sat at the bar. I'm highly upset I paid $42 for a rare steak when I ordered medium. Not only that these are about the size of two thick burger patties and it was very STRINGY. This place was great! My husband and I are from Chicago and we have been to several steakhouses (regularly). We started with garlic bread for an app (my son loved it), husband had a ribeye (top notch, prime is prime). I had the filet, it was good. Not prime and not as good as the ribeye, but that's as expected since prime is always better. I just wanted something small. Garlic mash was really good and the truffle Mac was so good (our fave). Also I had the raspberry lemon drop and it was to die for! Lastly, I'll say the prices were good too compared to what we are used to paying.
