I had a poor experience with Dave of Day and Night Plumbing and cannot recommend him…read more After seeing nearly perfect ratings on Yelp, I reached out to Dave for help fixing two leaky shower faucets and replacing a kitchen faucet at my mom's house. Communication and execution of the job was poor. I don't live in the same city at my Mom and my Mom doesn't speak English that well so I was helping from a distance and through the phone. I asked Dave if he could call me with updates after he arrived at the house and he agreed. The reason I wanted to get an update was because Dave gave a broad range for an estimate over the phone since he needed to examine the faucets first to understand what needed to be done and what needed to be replace. I waited over 2 hours before calling him again and it turned out that he had already gone to buy parts without sharing an update or updated estimate with me. My sister arrived at my Mom's house while Dave was there and told me that Dave was very short with her and seemed very frustrated. Dave left without saying a word to either my sister or my Mom and my sister had to call him back into the house to understand why one of the faucets he repaired had a protruding spout. He replaced the kitchen sink as requested but didn't complete the job by caulking the faucet so there is now water leaking down into the cabinet below. My sister will have to return and caulk it herself. I spoke with Dave over the phone afterward to share feedback and he explained that he didn't call with an update because he had to go to the store with the parts to figure out replacements and cost. I think he could have still called before making the purchase to update me on estimated costs and time required for the job so I could let my Mom know so she could plan her day. He also said that he didn't speak with my sister because he didn't know who she was. I think that could have been solved by introducing himself and/or at least asking her if she could help inform my Mom of the status of the job. He explained to me why the spout of the faucet is now protruding which I appreciate, but my sister and mom were so confused and he just left. Appreciate that everything he worked on is functional now, but definitely not satisfied with the service.

My house is eight years old and wanted to be carefull who I called. Make no mistake, Day and Night Plumbing did an outstanding job in changing the valve in the shower. When the house was built, they did not leave enough room for valve maintenance so we had to remove a little 1/4" strip to facilitaate installingthe retaining clip. They did an ecellent job. The crew was friendly and very courteous. I recommend Day and Night Plumbing to anyone that is not sure on who to call. I will cal on them again if necessary. Their charges were very reasonable. Worse company to work with. STEER AWAY AND DON'T LET THEM WASTE YOUT TIME…read more The pictures show the confirm time, the time the technician Mike attempted to arrive, the time he arrived and the time he left. All this to waste my time! I received confirmation in my appointment between the hours of 1 and 5. The technician messaged me at 11 a.m. and told me he was on his way. I informed him I was at work and I would not be able to be home until 1 o'clock, which was our scheduled time. He then yelled at me, said he was not coming back, after numerous phone calls I was put in on a three-way with a man named Zach who told him he needed to come out and service my address. Eventually, he agreed he would come back and service my address within the agreed time. After he came in, he was here for two hours working on my unit, all to tell the warranty company that they did not want to work with me. The company never submitted a report. They transferred the case and said that they simply chose not to work with me because I was upset that they wanted to showed up early. When I called the office, the receptionist, Jasmine, was very rude and sarcastic. Simply stated that if the time is between 1 and 5, that I should still be there earlier in case the technician's time changes. I said, that's absurd. How are you going to ask me to be there earlier when the agreed time is between 1 and 5? Then she proceeded, well, if you want a service, then you'll be there. If not, then you can wait for another day. This is very unprofessional, very unethical, not a way to run business. Do not let them waste your time. They will not honor your service time and will waste your time. I'm now weeks after they initially came out, having to start the process over when I have a child and an elderly person living at home, and I have no AC in the middle of summer.

I had worked on getting it fixed all weekend and only had a few more days to get it taken care of. We were initially told by an SDG&E tech that the safety in the control valve was becoming weak and needed to be replaced or the pilot light might go out again and the ignitor button didn't work. We had a plumber come out and do other recommended work, (which initially was quoted at $140 and by the end blew up to $444) he said he does not troubleshoot that part of water heaters. I was told this in the beginning so I knew I'd have to call a second plumber. I had also been told by other plumbing companies that I would need to just buy a new water heater and was quoted a price of $1200 for a 40 gal. tank and install. It also seemed that the control valve is a part that is hard to get (A. O. Smith Promax, 30 gal. 2008 model) The second plumber wasn't able to get the part and if he could, didn't want to risk putting it in and have it not work, however he referred me to GRJ. I spoke to Debra. She was very knowledgeable and knew the common issues with this water heater (the screens at the bottom can get clogged with dust) and that the part SDG&E recommended to be replaced rarely fails. She quoted an extremely reasonable price for a service call and on the parts which may not be needed (pilot assembly, gas valve). I set up an appointment and am very satisfied that I finally found the answer to the problem of fixing this water heater and at a reasonable price with such great customer service over the phone by Debra! I wish I had their number early on. I would have called them first!

On a Sunday I didn't expect anything to happen then but figured I could try to make an appointment with someone for the following week. After doing some calling around, came across 2020 Drain Guys. Tommy quoted me a very inexpensive price (especially compared to other places I was getting quotes from). He was on another job at the time but said he'd swing by to check it out after that. He did just that...hour and a half later. He found where the clog was right away, snaked it fully from the back yard to the street and I am SUPER happy. Our system was installed before we moved in and was never maintained how it should have been. Demian helped us catch up and we now have regular maintenance with him. Fifteen years later, that unit is as spotless today as the day he put it in (see attached picture of the unit on 9-11-2026) While the 12-year warranty expired quite a while ago, I never needed to call Demian once during all that time because the system performed flawlessly. That changed last week when it suddenly stopped sending hot water to the house. Given that it had been 10 years since my last maintenance service and well past the warranty period, I naturally assumed it was finally time for a new unit. Demian's business card was still taped right to the front panel of the heater, so I sent him an email hoping he was still in the area and willing to help me work with my home warranty insurance on a replacement. To my surprise, he replied almost immediately with a few troubleshooting suggestions to try first. He even tracked down and helped order replacement filters--including one I couldn't find anywhere online because Noritz stopped manufacturing it in 2021. As it turned out, the filters were simply so clogged and fouled that they had completely blocked the cold water flow into the unit. Essentially, Demian provided free remote consulting and tracked down hard-to-find parts for an old customer who hadn't reached out in nearly 15 years.
