I was very impressed with A-1 water heaters. My hot water heater stopped working and I had no idea why. At the recommendation of a friend, I decided to contact A-1 Water Heaters since I am not familiar with water heaters or companies that provide service for them. My call was answered immediately and I spoke to a woman who took my information and informed me that I would be getting a call back from technician soon. Admittingly, I was skeptical as I was sure I would not hear back in a timely fashion and maybe not at all. The workers here gave me a great experience! Mike was super helpful and polite. His customer service skills was genuine and professional, which is so hard to come by in my opinion. A really great place to call, and really great people who work here. I was honestly kind of nervous to call in, because I wasn't sure how much it would cost or if I could explain to the technician what was wrong with my hot water heater. The technician was super nice and walked me through his questions so I could give him so answers, and he was also really honest about his pricing. He made sure I knew I could probably get a cheaper price, but there's a chance a different company would give me a lower price but then raise it once they were at my house. I started to freak out when I realized that my water heater was leaking, as I just moved to the area and definitely didn't have the money or the time to deal with all that stress. First off, can I just say that their customer service is outstanding? That's something you don't see much anymore. From the workers to the receptionist, everyone is very professional, informative, helpful, and friendly. He came over even after his regular hours just to help get my hot water heater repaired. Thankfully, I didn't have to replace it. Chris was friendly from the moment I talked to him until he left. Zach was great! He made sure I got a new water heater into my new place before I moved in. I made sure to get a much better brand this time around than the last water heater that was in there. First time using them and they were great. Actually, this was my first time using any type of water heater business and I'm just really impressed. Customer service was amazing! Zach is a great plumber and I feel like I could trust him easily. He was able to answer all of my questions and most of the time he would elaborate on his answers so I felt 100% comfortable knowing he was experienced. When I called the office to schedule an appointment the person on the other line was very pleasant and courteous. She immediately picked up with phone and greeted me with a happy voice :) Seems like a small thing but most of the other service companies I've dealt with are simply lacking basic manners when it comes to communications. I must say, that i am very impressed with guys at A-1. My heater drain valve started to leak and upon calling around, i decided to go with A1. I called a ton of different places before making up my mind on who to use for a new water heater. These guys stuck out to me in a good way. Outstanding service and reliable, plus they were able to get to me quick. My water heater died the other day, and me a cold showers do not get along at all. I was worried that I would not have hot water for several days, but they were able to get out to me the next morning on time to make sure I did not suffer with cold showers. When they came out they looked over the water heater and found the problem and told me the options to move forward. I was hoping that it might be a low cost part but it turned out to not be that simple. The guys reviewed the options and based upon the cost to fix vs. replace it made sense to go with a new hot water heater. My roommates and I recently noticed that the water coming out of our bathroom and kitchen faucets were pouring out at a lukewarm temperature, and no matter how long we ran it the water never heated up to HOT the way it used to. Since we didn't know how to fix the problem and didn't want to tamper with the water heater, we knew we needed to call a professional. I looked up yelp reviews for a reputable plumbing service, and A-1 Water Heaters had several excellent reviews so I called them. One of their service technicians, Zach, was able to come over that day. He first drained the sediment out of the water heater and flushed it out several times until the water ran clear, and diagnosed the problem: the dip tube, a piece of plastic at the bottom of the tank that separates the cold water from the hot, had started disintegrating, and needed to be replaced. We live in an older house, so apparently this is a common problem. Zach was able to replace the dip tube with a brand new one at a reasonable rate, and by the time he left hot water was happily flowing out of our faucets again. I was impressed with his efficiency and knowledge, and also enjoyed how he was able to explain the problem to me in a way I could easily understand. I will definitely call these guys again if I experience any other plumbing issues in the future. read more

Super happy with the service I received, they were late due to additional work on the job before but they called and let me know what was going on and made it to me well with the new ETA they gave me. The gentlemen were very professional and polite, they made sure they covered everything with a heave duty drop cloth. In General I think water heater installations are overpriced (500 plus in labor for 2 hours wow) but these guys gave me the best price and it was a positive experience overall. The pricing sting is more manageable when everything is performed smoothly and they accommodated me on a Saturday! I was so relieved when Jason showed up at my door. Polite, clean, articulate.... They were some of the friendliest workers I've ever gotten work done by! The gal I talked to on the phone was really helpful and got my information. She said she would write a note on the message she sent out to all the plumbers that I needed my water heater repaired ASAP. I'm super happy with A-1 Water Heaters!!! They are the best place to get your water heater replaced in all of San Diego!! I'm not sure about other companies but I just know how great these guys did!!! They said that since my water heater was so old it would have to be replaced. They helped me get a bigger size of water heater for even LESS than what a smaller size would've been! Jason was absolutely great. When he came over to my house he was on time and really respectful of my home! He always made sure I was in the loop with what he was doing while installing my new water heater.
