We came here after having dinner at Ro last night, to pick up bagels for breakfast this morning. The servers were very pleasant, and it's a cute little place. I got an everything bagel with the lox and dill cream cheese. Amazing!!'

The turkey club on an everything bagel with chive cream cheese instead of the swiss is my go to at Sesame. I get it every time and am never disappointed! The barista's and employees are always cheerful and pleasant to order with. The space is very clean and chill to work from. Free water is also offered at the front from a dispenser making convenient to stay hydrated too! Im hoping they open up more across Tampa!!

I've lived in Tampa 10 years now...& I'm still searching for a good bagel! I had a well done everything bagel with chicken salad here...I only need one word to describe it. Bland. The bagel, although it looks well-seasoned, is bland. The chicken salad, described by staff as "famous", also bland. That's the word of the day here...bland. I may try them again, though. Don't want to rush to judgment.

Good bagel but tomato underripe and onions not pickled enough
    Sara S.

Love the fast casual bagel shop but the food could be better. We'll still come for convenience. Hyde Park Village only offers so much for healthy, quick breakfast, so Sesame is still a gem here. They have a nice selection of bagels and spreads. The eggs were cooked fine. My Hyde Park bagel just needed better ingredients. I had a similar bagel the day before at the café at OE and what a difference it was. It would help if the tomato was ripe and the onions pickled long enough for good flavor. An underripe tomato and nearly raw onion can ruin a meal.

    Smoked BLT

We came in for the first time and were able to grab a table inside. We ordered two sandwiches, one bacon egg cheese and one BLT with avocado. Both were good. I was so happy they had egg bagels! That's not typical. Everything was pretty quick and they had plenty of staff working on a Saturday morning to make ordering and cooking efficient. Space is small but there's some seating outside to seat as many as possible. One thing I will say is that it was quite expensive. $55 for two bagel sandwiches and two coffees seems a bit high. We may be back.

I stopped by Sesame for a casual breakfast with a friend. I love the location in Hyde Park Village! The interior of the restaurant is very cute and earthy. Staff are very friendly! I ordered the smoked BLT sandwich which has bacon, lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese and jalapeño cream cheese. I got it on a jalapeño bagel because they were out of the everything bagel. The sandwich normally comes on an egg bagel, but you can choose any bagel without an extra charge. I thought the bagel itself was okay but honestly a bit dry. The bacon was very crispy, and I liked the cream cheese, though I thought it could've had more jalapeño flavor. I really enjoyed the M.bird's guava cooler which had guava, mint, and lemon. Super refreshing!! I'd love to try their other refreshers. Overall, decent bagels but nothing particularly special. Really great drinks!!

This place had some good breakfast/lunch options. I just got a bagel and cream cheese. Bagel could have been fluffier but I did see them bring them out straight from the oven so they get bonus point for that. It took awhile for us to order even though the line was not long. Pretty small inside with a few tables and a few options to sit outside. This place is an order at the counter situation so you can easily take your food and eat in the sun.

Sesame offers a solid selection of bagels in a convenient location in Hyde park. It gets incredibly busy on weekends but the wait isn't unmanageable. The bagels are good but would not describe them as "NY style", and definitely on the pricier side given the location. My bagel this time was a little over-toasted for my liking but wouldn't deter me from returning next time I need a quick breakfast bite to eat in Hyde park.

Open sesame... and the champagne! It's breakfast, with a different kind of toast! Along with all the gorgeous bagels in this cozy little shop: you can get bubbles! You can get a mimosa on a weekday-and I'm here for it! I used Yelp to find "bagels by me" and this came up. I'm so glad for the tip because, as often as I'm in Hyde Park, I had never seen this shop. It's one street east of the Hyde Park Village main drag, on Oregon-on the east side of the garage closest to West Elm... and right next to Ro. (did you follow all of that?) lol So, after I parked in the adjacent free garage and walked downstairs, there was Sesame. There are three or four small tables out front on the sidewalk-and a leafy view across the dead end street that leads to the garage. It's sort of secluded and peaceful on that side of things. I've gone twice-once on a rainy morning and once on a sunny morning-and the ambiance both times, was lovely. It was busy both times, but not hectic. Most of the orders were to go, so I had no problem finding a seat at one of the four or so tables. Both times I had the Asiago bagel, toasted and with butter and it was super tasty. I love the texture, the "done-ness," the flavors. It was so good the first time, I had to order it a second time... so, so yum. And both times, I paired it with the mimosa-they give you a champagne split and you grab a mini orange juice bottle from the grab-n-go case. It's such a sparkly touch. The service has been friendly and prompt. Both times they were really well staffed. There seems to be a loyal group of regulars-who live and/or work nearby. There's a mysterious side door... that's part of an adjacent business. I'll leave it at that. (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge) Hope you get a chance to try it. I'll be there-trying to tear myself away from the Asiago and try something new.

strawberry matcha + everything bagel w scallion cream cheese and bacon
    John D.

as a NJ local visiting tampa... decent bagel and good amount of bacon (just a little pricy but expected for the area) i believe it was around $10 for the bagel and $7 for the matcha. iced matcha is great but they started to skimp out on the strawberry syrup since the last time i visited. service is great though!

    Beware of egg shells........................

Beware of eggshells....................................very disturbing mid-bite. Hard to come back from that one.

Filling was good but bagel was not.
    Frank D.

The coffee was good. The bagel was not. It was like chewing a wad of undercooked whole wheat bread. I'm not sure they know what a bagel is. I guess if you live near by and can walk here it's a nice place to sit. But I would go almost anywhere else to eat.

Bacon Egg & Cheese with chive cream cheese on a rainbow bagel
    Shannon H.

I ordered the bacon egg and cheese toasted on a rainbow bagel, I think my mistake was adding the chive cream cheese, it probably would have been perfect without it , it just kinda over powered the bagel! But I'd eat it again, my coworker on the other hand ordered a jalepeno bagel with spread and she added egg and avocado. They forgot the spread so it was just avocado on the bagel and the gave her egg on the side. They also forgot her peanut butter banana oats thing she ordered so she was disappointed overall.

I finally found it at New York Bagels--and it's only 15 minutes from me! I stopped in a little later in the day, so they were already sold out of quite a few varieties (which honestly is a great sign if you know good bagel shops). I was hoping for onion bagels, and luckily they had a couple left. From the moment I walked in, I got the warmest welcome from the owner. He genuinely seemed happy I found the place and took the time to chat. He even gave me the number and said I could call ahead next time and they'd have my order ready--and even bring it out to the car. The bagels were exactly what I've been missing--fresh, flavorful, and right. But what really stood out was the kindness and genuine hospitality. This is the kind of small business you root for. I'll definitely be back--and earlier next time so I don't miss out!

This cozy little shop is located in Carrollwood Village... a huge housing development, that somehow-innearly 36 years of living here-I had never been to until now. But missing a turn, led to some exploring and then, some bageling! New York Bagel and Bean is in a plaza at the corner of South Village and West Village. The joint was jumping when I was there at 11am on a Wednesday. It was difficult to find a parking spot, but so worth it. The shop is very homey and welcoming-with several tables and homespun decor. The owner (or manager) was very friendly and helpful. I felt truly appreciated. I felt bad I was only ordering one bagel. It was big and the perfect texture. And then... came the honey butter. Honey butter, people! It's happening! This was not a drill! It was delicious! Decadent, yes-but the perfect accompaniment. I may be in love! Should I move to Carrollwood Village just to be closer? Maybe!!! I'lll report back!

The only downside honestly is the service. I had to explain multiple times how I wanted the sandwich made with the toppings side by side and the person taking the order just wasn't really understanding what I was asking for. Even after explaining it again, it still wasn't clicking, which was frustrating. I've noticed this pretty much every time we come here. The staff never really seems approachable or friendly and the customer service could definitely improve, especially when tips are being requested. A smile and better communication would honestly make such a huge difference because the food is genuinely great. We also tried the matcha latte for the first time, and unfortunately it wasn't good at all. Maybe it's new, but it definitely needs some improvement. Overall, we still love coming here because the food keeps us coming back, but the service has consistently been lacking. Realistically the service is probably a 3, but because we love the place and the food so much, I'll still give it a 4.
