Salmon tartar
Loren R.

I was walking down the street looking for a great restaurant! I walked into 5 places that disappointed The classy interior, classy dressed waiters , well lit interior, and loud din of people having fun drew me in Great lighting /rather loud I was seated quickly at the bar. ( solo) My first thoughts are that this place is loud enough that if you're on a first date and want to talk, it would be quite difficult. It is that loud. Wife , friends yes. First date. Maybe not... If you like me wanting to have a meal and hide in your own thoughts and coddle your wine by yourself and get lost in your dreams with a buzz, this is a great place My wine by the glass was fantastic I had the sermon tartar crustini. It was fantastic with my mild fruity Spanish wine I had the Branzino( sea bass) for dinner It's quite juicy and flavorful It was Branzino fillets on top of a bit of spinach with sliced almonds, capers, garlic, and olive soaked in wine For dessert, I had the meatballs I thought they were a bit plain But they were the perfect ending for a third glass of wine and nice buzz I will definitely return.

Stop by on a whim for lunch and the setting is very nice, lots of outdoor seating. Loved the bucatini carbonara, but salad was pretty bad with many pieces of decaying lettuce and was pretty bland. I would say serving size was small. Service was meh, not terrible but nothing special, and not the fastest but we were there leisurely. There's a credit card fee of 3%.

This a great restaurant. I sat at the bar and had drinks with a friend on Sunday. The service was fine. The manager frequently checked on us and he was tremendous. The food was pretty good and authentic. We ordered a variety of cocktails and all were very tasty and well made. The game was on. The restaurant is aesthetically appealing and would be great for an affordable date night. They have really good happy hour and brunch deals. I found street parking to be plentiful for DC. I will definitely return.

Overly expensive restaurant in DuPont Circle that never quite hit the highs. I ordered a Batuta di Pollo, which was just a half chicken breast and a tiny salad, all for $22? The value didn't match the price. Service was fine, but the food was extremely boring and way too overpriced.

Hands down our favorite spot in dc!! We bring all our visitors here and it never disappoints. It has a great ambiance, very open and lively and the outdoor seating is nice too. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is always delicious. Great prices too!! My go to is the spicy rigatoni with added meatballs and a Caesar salad. Would also highly recommend the focaccia to start. We just came for their bottomless brunch with offers mimosas or Bellinis with a 2 hour time frame for just $20!! Super reasonable and our waitress always made sure our glasses were full. Can't wait for my next trip back!!

Service was good, but everything else was pretty mediocre. The wine glasses were very dirty and no bread included which I feel is a must at any self-respecting Italian restaurant. The Burrata Caprese was fine. If bread had been a part of it I think that would've justified the price. I ordered a seafood pasta (forget the name) which was pretty basic and the shrimp / clams were a bit overcooked. I'm not an expert chef by any means, but I feel like I could do better at home. Overall, I was disappointed by the food quality and dirty wine glasses. I think there are plenty of other better options within the same price range.

vibe is very nice, food was okay. the service is good too, we sat outside because a big party reserved the inside and the outside was fine. it was a fine night but food not memorable.

Pretty good spot to grab Italian food. Nothing special but it is serviceable. The location is one of the nice perks with the big indoor space and large covered patio. The appetizers all seemed like good options and we went with the burrata. It was really refreshing and the tomatoes were really sweet. I got the carbonara for my main dish and liked it. It wasn't the best carbonara in the world but hey we were hungry. The service was kind of slow and was is one of my only complaints. It felt like they disappeared after dropping off the food. The surcharge for gluten-free pasta seems pretty high at $9. That's the highest I've seen of any Italian restaurant with gluten free options.

This was my first time visiting the Connecticut Ave location as I have only had great experiences at the 14th st location. While brunch was good, the survive was subpar. My friends and I waited quite a long time to order and to receive refills of our bottomless mimosas. That was disappointing but somewhat understandable given how packed it was but the most frustrating was the fact that the server REPEATEDLY spilled mimosa on us as he was pouring and without any acknowledgment or an apology. I was willing to ignore it the first time but shortly after I finished wiping the drink out of my eye and off my face he proceeded to spill a significant amount of mimosa on my friends all white jeans. While mistakes happen, he was careless and again offered not even an apology. I enjoyed my food but will probably stick to the other location.

Tiramisu Classicop

I had such a great experience here. Despite a bit of a wait, the manager was so gracious and surprised my party with two complimentary tiramisus. Between the food and the wonderful ambiance, I absolutely loved the vibe. Highly recommend!

Overrated and over-priced food. Service was horrible. This place is too crowded and way under-staffed. I have had better pasta at a Sbarro.

Service: can't say much because it's a pizza place and we only order and take our food. That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

Yet it was abundantly clear they were hoping no one walked in & we were told they were closing so we asked if we could order and they hesitated. We were about to leave when they said yes. We were a party of three & ordered three pizzas to share & try. They were decent and the other two really liked the dough but I actually did not care for it. They staff cleaned around us including at our table & had their music going. Then they sat on the counter and watched us, lol. Not a fun experience & we would not have bothered them had we known. It's classic New York-style with a thin crust that has the perfect balance of crispness underneath and just enough chew in every bite. They offer a great variety of toppings, and I appreciate that you can order either by the slice or as a whole pie depending on how hungry you're feeling. Now, let's address the service. It was definitely on the snarky side, bordering on rude. Under most circumstances that would knock a star off for me, but honestly... that's part of the authentic pizzeria experience. Having spent plenty of time in the city, I almost would've questioned the legitimacy if everyone had been overly cheerful. The staff wasn't warm and fuzzy, but they kept the line moving and the pizza coming, which is really what everyone was there for. If you're looking for a cozy, leisurely dining experience, this probably isn't your place. If you're looking for an excellent New York-style slice with a beautifully crisp crust that lives up to its reputation, Andy's absolutely delivers. I'll happily brave the crowds for another slice.

When we first walked in, the cashier immediately apologized for the long wait times, thanked everyone for their patience, and let us know they were incredibly short staffed with only two people working. Because the tiny interior was already packed, we decided to leave and do some sightseeing first. However, seeing how good the pizza looked we knew we had to come back later that afternoon. There's no negative details in my review. Nothing but positive things and a small recommendation. 1. Staff and Service I really appreciated the cashier's honesty about running behind right off the bat. That allowed us to make an informed choice rather than get frustrated by a long wait. More businesses could learn from this! 2. Restaurant's Layout The inside is a bit tight and busy, but it's located in a smaller older building, so they have no other options. Since they can't expand the inside adding an outdoor pub height counter for eating, a bench or some seating out front would be a great way to give waiting patrons a place to sit. Also a place to eat. 3. The Pizza -The Veggie Pizza: My nephew and I both ordered this, and the slices were massive you'll see in my pics! They were honestly the largest slices I have ever seen! I love pizza and have eaten it in New York and Chicago, and my slice here held its own. It was loaded with a huge variety of vegetables. I requested to put mine through the oven twice to get the veggies warm and cooked because I noticed my nephew's slice looked like a warm salad on crust. So happy I did because it was delicious! The jalapeños were intensely spicy which is on me, since I'm a bit of a lightweight with spice! -The Meat Options: My son got the pepperoni and thought it was really good, and my husband got a supreme slice which he also said was good . 4. Price and pizza size- they're more expensive than a typical slice, but once you see those big ole slices in my pics you'll understand why. They can't even fit on a plate. They had to serve them to you in an actual pizza box! After reading my long review you're trying to find out if I would go back huh? Absolutely! If I ever in the area or stay at the Hilton DC again, I would definitely walk right on over and get a slice. You can feed a family of three on one slice! Adult and two small children!
