Food came out and was placed in front of the wrong person, even though it was the waiter that took the order was delivering the food he had no idea who ordered what, Kind of weird: My order came out wrong and after arguing with me took it back to get me the right thing, the bad thing is that the rest of the table was sitting eating and I was watching. Food came out hot but I was not impressed with the portion size or the quality. I have definitely had better food. Food is very good however the service was slow at first then got faster once food arrived for instance we got the food I picked up my chopsticks and started to unwrap them and server returns and said how is everything? How could I tell by looking at it? My other issue was the table was not clean so I watched them clean a nearby table and found out why the busboys ( 2) only spot wiped the table they did not even remove condiment rack they wiped near it and the last thing is the teapot was dirty and chipped the tea was excellent but the teapot handle was sticky. My family and I ordered take-out from Seven Moons tonight. I ordered shrimp pad Thai, which I have ordered from here before. I got home and noticed that none of the shrimp had been cleaned (partially covered in the black intestinal line you find with shrimp and lobster). I called Seven Moons to explain and to ask if I could get a new dish, a restaurant credit, or a refund. The manager was not very nice and told me that "they never clean the shrimp". He refused to accommodate my request and told me that he would suggest to his boss to clean the shrimp in the future. I know that eating the intestinal line is edible, but it leaves a gritty, gross flavor on the food and it is something that I am just not particularly interested in eating. My family and I have eaten here for years and my experience tonight is similar to those of other yelp reviewers. Horrible customer service and my family will not be eating here anymore. To all future patrons of the restaurant, beware any shrimp in your meal unless you enjoy the contents of shrimp intestine. read more

I love this place! It's my go to for asian cuisine. And I mean asian; Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc... The 7 Moons represents seven asian cuisines. I enjoy this restaurant at least once a month. They have a great bar and the food is wonderful. Although I have recognized that it can be inconsistent. Regardless, I am a regular here. It's a great environment too. Great for dates, family get together, and more. The owners are very nice. The moon is huge! It's a fun place to try something new and you can do that for a while. My first and last time ordering delivery from them. I understand that they are new to doing delivery and there will be kinks to work out. But when I called to ask why my order of 3 items that I was quoted 50 minutes for, was over 15 minutes late, the only response I received was "they're on the way that's all I can say". And then she hung up. No apology, no "oh I'll see where they are", nothing. Completely useless and absolutely a waste of my time and money. Keep in mind I live within 3 miles of this restaurant (about 5 minutes) and my order wasn't even READY by my quoted DELIVERY time. They arrived 40 MINUTES AFTER MY QUOTED DELIVERY TIME. ON A 50 MINUTE ORDER. An hour and a half is absolutely RIDICULOUS to wait for delivery on a Tuesday night from a place 5 minutes from my house. AND THEN I had to wait outside with the delivery driver and call the restaurant to pay for my food (even though the online choice I selected was pay card to delivery driver) and I was put on hold for over 10 minutes just to PAY before the driver could give me the food and leave. They have officially lost all of my business and that of my family. Never again. read more

First he questioned the customers as to why they returned it and then proceeded to tell the customer that he ate it so he should pay for it. read more

Each year my family gathers in Rhode Island from across the country and we all agree to meet at Seven Moons for dinner. This past Friday, we had reservations for 16. Unfortunately four could not make it, we told the server(s), and, one of them had the nerve to tell us that he wanted to squeeze the remaining 12 guests at a table for 8. He mentioned that this was their busy time of year and that they needed the tables for other guests. We all vehemently stated that this was not acceptable and remained at our two reserved tables. When one of the servers came to take our drink and appetizer order, I asked for separate checks for each family (four) and was told that they could not accommodate our request on the weekends because of how busy they were. I asked to speak with a manager, and, it turns out it was the other server. No matter how many times we requested separate checks, we were not granted our request. We even asked if we could check out up front once we figured out who owed what, and, we were still told that we could not be accommodated. So, one of us stepped up and agreed to pay the tab, which us unfortunate as we did not come with cash but with debit and credit cards. We ordered, the food was nothing to write home about, and we paid our $275.00 bill. And, to top things off, there were more empty tables than patrons when we left. I have a few theories including the fact that they can charge a 20% gratuity on parties over a certain number, and, the fees associated with multiple credit cards is higher than utilizing one card. I will tell you this, I have never felt more disrespected and mistreated as a customer than I did on that evening. I will never, ever go there again! read more

This use to be the 'go to spot' for Chinese food in the Washington county area. Unfortunately it has become the nastiest and worse place to eat. Went for a birthday party on March 26th 2018. Party of about 16 people. Reservations made 2 days in advance. We ordered our drinks and they were out of basically everything we ordered... patron margaritas, wines, cognac. However a lady did run to the liquor store and paraded the bottles around our table we have your liquor she shouted. My friend had 3 patron margaritas with gnats in them (numerous gnats floating in her drink, 3 separate times). Our waiter laughed it off. We ordered a shrimp pad Thai the shrimp was cold as though it was cocktail shrimp. General tso's chicken was also cold and the pork in the pork fried rice was all fat. Yet they still wanted people to pay for those dishes that weren't eaten and the drinks that were sent back so to gnats floating in it. The reasoning from a lady who I believe was the manager ' I'm sorry I'm not the cook, I'm sorry I don't make the drinks'. Terrible. We will not be going back. I will also let every person I know, work with, and come into my place of employment to steer far away due to a possible sickness someone will end up obtaining. Do NOT go here. Ordered a shrimp/veggie tempura and after one bite we did not care for it (veggies too hard, shrimp not in tempura batter and it was served with duck sauce). So We told the waitress, and she took it away but did not take it off the bill. (She is a new waitress, so it was no big deal, really.) Until the manager came to our table and said we had to pay because we ate it. When we said we did not eat it, he asked how we knew we didn't like it. I said we took a bite, he said, "Yes, so you ate it." Back & forth we went; he took it off finally, but as we were leaving, he was yelling at the waitress and told her that he was taking the $8 (yes, $8) out of her tips. Absolutely ridiculous and rude. My husband & I just had take out from Seven Moons. TODAY!! It was the worst Chinese food that we ever had. We had eaten there a few times before & found it ok, But this time was a total waste of money. We ordered Chicken & Shrimp with garlic sauce, There was an equivalence of a whole green bell pepper in each order, cut up in huge chunks, tons of water chestnuts and of a sm amount of chicken & shrimp in each order. I just ate the shrimp & threw the rest in the trash. The shrimp fried rice was the worse ever. I never knew they made shrimp so small. As for the Nime chow, Jacky's Galaxy in downtown Providence, North Providence & Cumberland is much better along with the rest of their food.. After not having dined here in quite a while (for no particular reason whatsoever) my friend and I decided to go there for lunch. I had heard that the ownership had changed but I noticed nothing different about the establishment, the decor or the menu. I come here for the sushi, mostly. The sushi on the day of our lunches was excellent as always. We also ordered lettuce wraps, which came with not enough lettuce so we asked for more. The filling was absolutely delicious, but more lettuce was required in order to finish the order. I think the waitress was either overwhelmed or did not understand English but we never got the extra lettuce so we ended up just finishing the filling with a fork. We had the typical little salads with ginger dressing and the little bowls of miso soup - both were very good, and identical to what I had dined on previously. We did not venture out wildly on our food choices, we pretty much stuck with the sushi luncheon specials and the other couple of items. Overall everything was very good and I will definitely be back. I used to love this place. I still get take-out occasionally. The prices are outrageous. A $3 egg roll? $8.50 for peking ravioli. In my opinion this is like when the SEO of Netflix decided he was going to double the price of the service. The stock totally tanked. Loved this restaurant before new ownership took over. Tried to celebrate Christmas Eve dinner there. 9 people reservation for 6 pm. First table we were seated at had a leak above us from the roof. Moved us to a dry table. We ordered drinks at about 6:15 as well as appetizers. Appetizers came out before drinks. We ordered dinner now we have been waiting 45 minutes for our drinks. Dinner came out every dish was cold. Still no drinks. At 7:15 drinks finally arrived. Manager came to table and said that he could take 50% off drinks we ordered. We've been here close to a dozen times in the last few years and it is usually pretty packed, so visiting on Christmas Eve really wasn't much different -maybe even a little less busy as far as we could tell. Unfortunately, I have to confirm most of the other reviews over the last few months that this place is on its way down. It's too bad because it was always so consistent in the past. As a note, I can't remember the last time we've ever gone out on this night but with things being a little hectic this year we figured we could use a break from the usual chaos( which we actually love) that we subject ourselves to! Where to begin? We called a week or so early and reserved a round table for 8. This being Christmas Eve we figured it would be more fun. When we arrived( at 6 PM) they had no round table available, and they seated us near the bar with a few small tables pushed together -which was fine. However, once they realized that the roof was leaking on our table they offered to move us ...which at least two people in our party appreciated. So after a few minutes we were seated again, but this time we were in the small section near the lobby behind the water feature. This really isn't ideal, but we were comfortable and just wanted to get the festivities started at this point. In the spirit of Christmas cheer, we ordered our drinks. Two Scorpion Bowls, two mixed drinks, and four wines. And we waited...... After 15 minutes we figured they were a little backed up. No problem. After 30 minutes( or so, whose counting) the two mixed drinks arrive and we're relieved that they've finally bringing out the beverages. So we waited..... After about 40 minutes we actually started complaining unpleasantly, which I think is pretty fair. The waitress came over and apologized, followed by the manager who promised our drinks would be out soon. Did they run out of alcohol? I mean it's a Scorpion Bowl, put anything in it at that point -I don't think anyone would have minded. The strange thing is that the bar wasn't really that busy( someone in our party took a stroll) and on top of that other parties were getting their drinks. After about an hour, we decided to just order our meals and they promised our drinks would arrive shortly. So, we waited..... Ok we're up to One Hour and Fifteen minutes at this point. But amazingly, out in the distance, I spotted the burning flame of the Scorpion Bowl that had alluded me for so long. YES ...a true Christmas Miracle! And just like clockwork, after I took one nice, big sip ...our meals arrived. Perfect timing, right? I'm going to give them 2-stars, because not even the meals were on target. Three out of eight meals were lukewarm and probably would have been warm if they we're served when the drinks came out. Maybe they only serve Scorpion Bowls with meals now -who knows? Just for fairness, I will mention that the manager offered to take 50% off the drinks we ordered -which wasn't good enough for me, but as a group we accepted. The excuse was that a bartender called out at the last minute so they didn't have the staff to keep up with the bar orders. And that's fine, but it doesn't explain why other parties got their orders -or why the situation as it related to us was handled so poorly. The bottom line is that I have heard the restaurant is under new ownership/(mis)management. At this rate, based on our experience and that of several other recent reviews -this place is on shaky ground. We will not be back. read more

I gave Seven Moons one star because I can't give 1/2 a star. This place is terrible, save your money for the down payment of a new car. Let me paint this picture in the only medium this place deserves, a broken red crayon and not the pointed half. You walk into the dimly lit restaurant to the smell of grease and MSG, the sound of some guy at the hostess stand arguing with the two women behind the take out bar. I've been 9 times in my life, of those 9 times they have been fighting, perhaps your luck will be different. Either way go ahead and put in your order for take out. Watch out they ask you for your number. You won't know, 7 , 9 and 3 quarters?!? It will give them an excuse to be rude, but even if you guessed right, they are rude anyway. So... Throw them a curve, periwinkle? After you fork over a couple hundred bucks you will be shoved aside to wait in a weird zen subdivided holding cell of faux bamboo, and a very nice water feature. If you like you can find your own way to the bar. It will never offered, nor will you get anything more then a thumb over a should. "That away kid, now scram." But do not fret because you can hear the roar of the people having a great time just a few feet away. Surely you have reached enlightenment. Nope, you have reached a fight between the bartender and some guy. No..No he is not a drunk patron, nor is he her boyfriend, he is just the company she is keeping. While you wait for a beer out of a tap that has clearly never been cleaned, you can watch creep-a-zoid and barkeep trade verbal licks like two sailors from the Jersey Shore. I mean you kiss your mother with that mouth ma'am? But that is fine because you are one of only three other people sitting there, surely service will be great. Well...better thank the good lord they have larger sizes of beers. One beer will take you 15 minutes, to drink but closer to 37 minutes to order and receive, so do remember to plan ahead. Sometimes you will actually get the bill before the beer. Better pay it because it might be an hour before she looks at you again. Finally your wait is over and your food is done, but no one bothers to tell you. So you sit there drinking the equivalent of green bread in a glass watching the bartender throw herself around because she "can't believe he would do this to her tonight", ( it was a Tuesday). Still fun to help pass the time. 45 minutes later your spouse calls you up saying forget it, the kids are sleeping and you have work in the morning. Just bag it. But wait you didn't pay for that beer yet and of course she is no where to be found. Better leave twenty, to cover that 12 dollar swill and the rest to help her get back on her feet. You get up, walk back toward the front of the restaurant just feeling great about your life choices, wondering if you could have been a bigger part of the healing process. Suddenly that guy with the quick thumbs from early, will say to you,"Where have you been? Your order was ready 57 minutes ago. Do you have your number?" Grab your mortgage payment to go, roll back to the hood close to three hours later then you had expected to see your kids a sleep on couch looking a little bit thinner then you had hoped. Seven moons is a joke and dumb one at that. I implore you to invest in Google or start a college fund with the money you could save not eating here. This place needs to be torn down and turned into a tar pit. I feel it's much safer for the community, and your health. Think of the kids. read more

They wouldn't accept my word over the phone, accusing me of trying to steal a meal. Everyone I know loves Seven Moons, and I *really* *really* want to also, but for some reason, every time I go I leave unsatisfied. The reason I want to like it so much is that it an oasis in a desert. There are so mostly really mediocre Asian restaurants in South County, and Seven Moons at least has an interesting and diverse menu. Not the 50s-style pu-pu platter and tiki hut drinks here. I think the name refers to the seven cultural influences, but I might be making that up. Anyway, the vision is great, but like I say, I always leave unsatisfied. For example, the sushi menu has everything you would expect, but not a lot more. Quail Eggs. That's cool. But no specially-sourced ingredients, no unique roll creations. Entrees I've had from any of the "moons" always ended up being a bit bland and uninteresting. It's almost like they went out and found really interesting items to serve, but then toned it down for general consumption. If Seven Moons were in Boston or LA, or even in Providence, I would have given them two stars. I throw in the extra because of the fact that they are trying to do something interesting down here, where few others are. Given the recent opening of more well-executed options like Herbs and Spices, however, should help boost the interest in improving the execution at Seven Moons, so it can finally meet its expectation. read more

I pretty much eat here every other week. It's one of the very few "asian restaurants" in South County that offer a large diverse menu (japanese, chinese, thai). Although, if you were in a city, you could surely find some place else with a much more impressive authentic menu. But we are in South County after all, beggars can't be choosers, and I will even admit that after this place opened, I ditched my local chinese restaurant that I grew up on. (yes, i feel the guilt). Generally speaking I've always loved every dish I've gotten here. I'm a sucker for the crab rangoons, pad thai, bee bong, chicken coconut soup and nime chow. The one major down fall of this place that I wish they would improve on is service. The waitstaff here is generally not the greatest when it comes to attitude. It's not as though they are intentionally rude, its just they could use some major improving. Or at least a really good training session on upbeat positive service. This is why I usually prefer getting take out. Of course one could always remember that moment last year where the health department closed them down for a day because of one too many violations, but I try not to think about that. read more

two reasons why this place is a-ok, but doesn't light my world on fire: one. the food is tasty and decent, but nothing special. Everything tasted and presented as it should, but I was anticipating something special based on what I had heard about the restaurant. I appreciated the bento box, but was disappointed that nothing we ordered came with white rice. The portions were also small, which did not make sharing dishes possible. two. the service was fine, but again... nothing exceptional. i didn't walk away feeling perturbed, but our server (and the other people who helped out with the table) didn't make any sort of impression. two reasons why i would give it another go: one. the service was fast. we were seated right away (at 6 pm on a saturday), the food came out quickly, and we didn't have to wait any time for the check or our change. two. the restaurant was really clean (which included a bus person coming out with a quiet little vacuum to clean the carpet in between table settings). the dining room was spotless, and the decor was delightful. read more

We were seated for 15 solid minutes before someone even came over to take our order and I had to ask for someone to come and wait on us. They weren't even apologetic about it. I first like to start out by saying if I could leave zero stars I would. I've been going to seven moons since they opened. I went for lunch today (12/27/14). The service was a bit slow at first, the bartender was our waitress, though we were not at the bar. It seemed to me they were very understaffed. The dinners all came out at random times, she forgot two of the orders, drink orders where incorrect. It got even more busy at the bar and what seemed to be her section of tables. The service continued to get worse. When we finished we waited 30 minutes for our bill which was not the correct bill when we finally got it. After finally get out of the place I decided I would call the manager. When I explained to him what happened he got very defensive and asked me why I did not send anything back. I explained to him they were understaffed which he adamantly denied. He was a bit hostile during the whole conversation. I told him I'd been coming there for years and I had never had service like this and I would like something done. He offered me a free sushi roll ($6) and my bill was $118 with tip. I will never step foot into that place again. read more
