After a long day on the beach, we needed a little pick me up and came to Seven Seas. First time stopping in, and we are so glad we did! The shop itself is smaller but in a really great area. There are a few tables outside to sit at or wait for your order. Not a large menu, but great options. They also have specialty seasonal drinks, too! Highly recommend the Iced Dirty Chai. It's incredible!! Honestly, it's one of the best I've had. It was recommended by the barista, and she was spot on. Also, great prices compared to other places around. Definitely stop in to Seven Seas if you're in area, you won't be disappointed! read more

Looove this coffee shop! Bf and I were around the arts district and I just needed a simple iced matcha latte. Other places in the area had flavors I didn't want or there was just no matcha on the menu so I stumbled into Seven Seas and was diggin' the vibe of the place. I loved the winter menu options but a simple matcha was calling my name. I ordered an iced matcha with honey ($6.50) with almond milk ($1.00). It was creamy and delicious with a perfect balance between the matcha flavor, honey and milk. None of them too overbearing. Luckily enough, we were asked if we wanted a free brown sugar rosemary hot latte since the order was wrong for another customer and it was made with almond milk. We happily accepted it esp since my bf didn't feel like ordering anything and ended up with a free drink. He wasn't fond of the rosemary taste and said he could really taste the herb. I tried it and it tasted totally fine to me. I tasted more espresso but could still taste the herb-y essence. If you handed this drink to me and didn't tell me what was in it, I wouldn't be able to tell it was rosemary. We don't live in this area but I love me a good quality coffee shop! Seven Seas was walking distance from our hotel. Love this place! We tried their mocha, s'more latte and a few pastries. They were very nice and gave my son a huge milk too. Coffees were tasty and not overly sweet. Nice to sit outside in the sun and people watch. Will be back when in the area again! read more

Checked out Seven Seas Roasting in Solana Beach and it's a solid spot if you're looking for a simple, no-fuss coffee shop. Matcha: 3/10 Coffee: 10/10 -Tried the strawberry matcha, and heads up--it's definitely not for the matcha purists. The strawberry flavor kind of takes over, so if you're in it for that deep matcha earthiness, this one might not hit the mark. That said, their honey cinnamon latte is a total win--nice, comforting, and perfectly balanced without being too sweet. **Their pastries are worth a mention too. I had the lemon crumfin and it was legit. Flaky, bright, and just the right amount of tartness--definitely one of the better pastry options I've found in a coffee shop. Service: 10/10 -Shoutout to the customer service--quick, friendly, and efficient. Seven Seas is located on what I refer to as coffee row. When looking up coffee places in Solana Beach, I noticed there were a good number of java spots in a concentrated area but loved the review for Seven Seas. I stopped here early morning two different days, the first day I went with the Triple Coconut despite typically doing black, boring coffee in the morning. I'm a sucker for all thing coconut and it was pure bliss. The next day I stopped by for an Americano and it was the best Americano I've had in awhile. Smooth, robust and just what the doctor ordered. I wish I was hungry when I went because I was intrigued by the Korean bbq breakfast burrito, we will have to save that for the next time I'm in the area! This place was rad. Keep it short and sweet there. Great staff, great merch, great decorations. I've picked my tattoo style to be American traditional. All of their stuff here this designed after that. They've got some local tease, delicious coffee beans, and super sick unique merch. Granted I never wear cotton T-shirts so I had to pass, but this place is truly cool. A lot of times I go to these hipster, coffee, shops, or these little yuppie spots where everyone's glued to every apple product known to man. But every once in a while, you find a unique place that caters to something you're more interested in I think this place really hits that mark for something a little bit different. Absolutely love their coffee, top-notch and like I always say all coffee places cost the same nowadays so why not spend the due diligence and find one that's actually worth it. We saw this coffee and ice cream shop as we were walking around Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach and we decided to check it out.....it had a nice and open layout and the curb appeal, was very inviting. Inside we got to talk to the lady behind the counter and she gave us a nice history of the brand, which has several locations around San Diego and this one in Solana Beach had only been open since the summer of 2023. She mentioned to us that the American coffee revolution has been dark and bitter-strong. But Seven Seas Roasting Company decided instead to focus on the flavors of Southeast Asian coffee....lighter...... In 2017, Seven Seas became the first American company to import specialty coffees from Laos. The coffee shop offers medium and dark roasts but they really focus on exposing people to the lighter varietals. I am not a coffee drinker, but my husband and friends are. I focused my attention on their interesting ice cream flavor varieties like Chai and some of their specialty chocolate ones. read more

Seven Seas in Solana Beach? That is definitely a good thing for locals and visitors. Seven Seas offers great coffee and is veteran owned. Coffee beans are carefully collected from micro organic farms from around the world. I had a cortado on this visit. It was very well made. It was rich in flavor and smooth to drink. In addition to espresso based beverages, they plan to offer ice cream based on their signature lates and small bites and baked goods. Right now, they are in their soft opening period, so there's still some physical work that needs to be done, like seating and more aesthetics. Service is super friendly and upbeat, which is great, but what really has me coming back is the quality of the coffee. read more

We were walking around Solana Beach with our dog and just happened to stumble upon this cute and small coffee spot for our afternoon caffeine fix. The honey lavender latte and chai latte were so good! We were pleasantly surprised to find that they have soy milk as an option. I know oat and almond milk are pretty popular alternatives, but I don't feel like many coffee shops nowadays offer soy. Our drinks didn't taste watered down and had a really strong espresso flavor, which we liked. Also loved that the area here is super walkable and has a ton of stores nearby to look around while you're walking. Definitely will come back again! read more

Decided to check out this place because the reviews are so high and I have to say, it is really good! I got the honey lavender latte in decaf and thoroughly enjoyed it! The lavender flavor is pretty strong but not too overpowering. Their decaf beans are also really good. The cafe is on the smaller side with limited seating out front. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely go back. Highly recommend! read more

As someone who hasn't written a Yelp review in probably 3 years, I felt compelled to share my recent experiences at Seven Seas Roasting in Solana Beach. It's not often that I encounter such genuinely friendly and welcoming service. What stood out to me the most was the warmth and friendliness of the baristas. Unlike some other coffee shops where interactions can feel transactional, the team at Seven Seas goes the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and valued. I was particularly touched by how they interacted with my dog. Not only did they warmly greet us both, but they also took the time to offer my dog a treat, which truly made our visit special and my dog Koa is definitely a big fan now ;) In a world where genuine hospitality can sometimes feel rare, Seven Seas stands out as a beacon of warmth and friendliness. A big thank you to the entire team for making our visit such a delightful experience every time. I will definitely be returning more often and I am already recommending this little gem of a coffee shop to friends and fellow dog lovers alike. Came here with some friends for an afternoon break. It's tucked away on this cute little strip in Solana Beach that I never noticed was there before, so glad I found this little spot there! Parking wasn't too hard. It's just a bunch of street parking but we were able to find a spot on the little strip right away only a few minutes walk from Seven Seas. Their drinks are really good, and they gave good recommendations on what I can add to my London Fog Latte to make it sweeter. The baristas were so nice! read more

I've never been to the Solana Beach location but I always make sure to order coffee from Seven Seas when I see them at a farmers market! I usually see them at the Hillcrest or Little Italy farmers market. There's always a long line but it goes by fast. I ordered the white chocolate raspberry latte with oat milk and it was so good! I recommend it if you like your coffee on the sweeter side. read more

I loved the seasonal drink I got here - a dark chocolate ganache I believe? It had a long name, and wasn't on their regular menu. As most places, you can sub for oat milk or other alt milks. The service was really what made this place memorable though - such a friendly cashier! I have never been to their other locations but they are at some local farmers markets in a truck. Happy to have their storefront in driving distance though! The outside is peaceful and quiet on Cedros, and a cute sign advertising coffee and ice cream (is there really a better combo?!). Next time I'll be sure to try the ice cream! read more

Awesome experience at Seven Seas! Thanks James for starting our Sunday off with great coffee and such kindness. Seven Seas roasts their own beans and do an excellent job of that. We tried a mocha (which they make with dark chocolate, hint of raspberry, and vanilla), a classic perfect cappuccino, solid dark roast, and depth (aka hammerhead.) We were excited to see they now have food. We got a sample of the pastries, a blackberry turnover and a lemon poppyseed muffin. Foods in the cold case a mango overnight oats, blackberry chai chia pudding. Also the ice cream is in!! It's early but we got a Cherry Bomb (chocolate, cherry, coffee) and a Peanut Butter Cold Brew to sample later. read more

This coffee is good, like ridiculously good. I think I've been to just about every coffee shop in Coastal San Diego and this place by far exceeds the quality and taste of any other coffee shop I've been to. One of my favorite coffee spots in North County! It is a tiny little spot with a few places to sit right outside but really good quality coffee. When I arrived I was super excited to try as their menu looked good and the reviews were awesome. By the time I left I was noticeably upset and didn't even want my order anymore. I never write bad reviews ever cause that's not my thing, but even my partner noticed how rude the staff were being. I ordered 1 item for takeaway and would estimate I was there for over half an hour (there were customers but it was not super busy). My order also did not meet the expectations I had for the price and the reviews I previously saw on here- I had my partner try it and even he did not like it. I have no idea if I just came at the wrong time or simply looked a way they didn't like, but this was not the first time experience I was hoping for. I waited patiently and I left a tip (I always tip, regardless). However, none of that made any difference. Im sorry for the review but I have to be honest. I'm bummed about it and won't be returning. read more

Friendly staff, delicious drinks, and not overpriced. Seems to be the trifecta of a coffee shop, in my opinion. Got the iced dirty chai and am completely addicted after just a few sips. Not too sweet, not too spiced, not too coffee forward. Love it and will be back again soon! Update: been craving it all week so hit it up again today and happy to report that it is equally delicious! There's a BIG difference between generic Starbucks and amazing Seven Seas. The people, the quality of the coffee and the prices among many other things. We come to Solana for the beach but we can't get enough of Seven Seas coffee. Great company, good people, friendly baristas and always a good cause. We love sitting outside and people watch. I first found Seven Seas through their South Park location. Immediately fell in love with the coffee and the vibes. They just recently opened this location and I think it is a fantastic addition to Solana Beach. Same great coffee, super stellar and friendly baristas and they just recently started selling ice cream! We got to sample all the flavors at their recent grand opening and the Chai and the Cherry Bomb were amazing! If you're in the Solana Beach area I highly recommend getting your coffee fix from this place. read more

Excellent quality coffee. This location is really cute, settled in the arts district around plenty of galleries and shops. I had the Cherry Bomb Latte and my sister got the cold brew. Seven Seas Roasting Co. is a veteran-owned specialty coffee roaster that works directly with farmers. We believe quality can be a lever for change. In 2017, we set out to source the best coffees from around the world and to make a difference in the lives of the farmers we work with around the world as well as the communities we serve in Southern California. Seven Seas’ story started in the Middle East, where Eric Dobbs began drinking coffee while deployed in the US Navy for 5 years on various deployments. In Afghanistan, coffee is not poured over. It is not frappéd or unicorned. It is functional. After 17 years of service in the Navy, Dobbs returned home to San Diego. He enrolled in law school. Law school demands coffee, so he discovered specialty coffee. The more he looked into third-wave coffee, the less law made sense. He traveled to Southeast Asia and learned to roast coffee. While there he met coffee farmers who were stuck in a cycle of impoverishment, growing low-quality, commodity beans for larger companies. He decided to form Seven Seas. The idea would be twofold: bring this lighter, floral specialty coffee of Southeast Asia to the US, and help farmers in that part of the world break out of the commodity market. The owner was very sweet she let us try samples of the new marshmallow ice cream that they are testing out. It was so good! I ordered the sumptuous special with frozen hot chocolate. She made it aesthetically pleasing. They asked how I wanted it and I said picture perfect! Watching her make it was so fun and jaw dropping. I was in such awe! The marshmallow alone was so amazing to watch! It was so good and made with such good ingredients. I did share a bit with my friend, but boy I had basically the whole thing to myself and it was perfect. The frozen hot chocolate was bittersweet too. So it was balanced with the cookie, marshmallow, and cream. The perfect amount of sweetness for me. It was pricey, but it was worth it! Well worth it to try it at least once! I am a cookie feen and these cookies quite literally stopped me in my tracks. The Scarlet letter cookie .... Just get one. In my case I get at least 4 of these each time I go. The most imporant thing in any cookie is the actual dough and theirs is always the perfect balance of buttery and sweet! I despise dry crumbly cookies and these never even come close. They are all so good! The staff has alway been very nice and when I have gone it is never outrageously busy. Worth the detour everytime.

The employee who helped us, Luke, was fantastic. Several of us wanted to sample different flavors before deciding, and he was patient, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire process. Overall, Handel's is definitely one of my go to options for a late night sweet treat.

We primarily came for a coffee run but a few of our team members decided to visit for breakfast the following day and from what I've heard, they're solid with the food! Overall, Achilles Coffee is a perfect small batch roaster to visit while you're in San Diego to get a great cup of coffee, a breakfast to go with it, and some bags of single origin or blend to bring back home for your own brew. And if you're interested in trying them out before you visit or just looking to restock, consider checking out their website and order from there. They even have a sampler to try their in-season batches. I guess their only Achilles' heel is that there aren't more of them but with five spots all across San Diego county, at least a San Diegan (or visitor) can get a taste of the sweet nectar marketed under this Greek warrior's moniker.

You can absolutely taste the difference. The pastry I had was incredibly moist, flavorful, and fresh and not dry at all like you often find at coffee shops (like the Coop) The gentleman working the register was also fantastic. I wasn't familiar with all of the baked goods, and he took the time to walk me through the options and explain what everything was without making me feel rushed. That kind of customer service goes a long way. Between the fresh pastries, great atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back.
