They offer cozy seating outside for you to simply sit and sip your drinks while catching up with friends or family, to people watch, to meet new people (yes, we chatted with fellow coffee lovers) or to sit silently on your electronic device. The baristas were super helpful and friendly. They genuinely expressed interest in our inquiries about the area (since we were not locals) and happily answered our questions about the different drinks. After a long day on the beach, we needed a little pick me up and came to Seven Seas. First time stopping in, and we are so glad we did! The shop itself is smaller but in a really great area. There are a few tables outside to sit at or wait for your order. Not a large menu, but great options. They also have specialty seasonal drinks, too! Highly recommend the Iced Dirty Chai. Seven seas roasting is probably my favorite shop, I get to meet friends down in Cedro and then walk with a fabulous Lotte... Very unique everyone of which I have enjoyed. I love the natural flavors, including lavenders herbs, and all quite unique. I have never met a barista. I didn't like or who didn't give some good recommendations. Sometimes we just sit out in the front for a few minutes just to enjoy the coffee and then start walking... It's in a great location and they are a great coffee shop. read more

Looove this coffee shop! Bf and I were around the arts district and I just needed a simple iced matcha latte. Other places in the area had flavors I didn't want or there was just no matcha on the menu so I stumbled into Seven Seas and was diggin' the vibe of the place. I loved the winter menu options but a simple matcha was calling my name. I ordered an iced matcha with honey ($6.50) with almond milk ($1.00). It was creamy and delicious with a perfect balance between the matcha flavor, honey and milk. None of them too overbearing. Luckily enough, we were asked if we wanted a free brown sugar rosemary hot latte since the order was wrong for another customer and it was made with almond milk. We happily accepted it esp since my bf didn't feel like ordering anything and ended up with a free drink. He wasn't fond of the rosemary taste and said he could really taste the herb. I tried it and it tasted totally fine to me. I tasted more espresso but could still taste the herb-y essence. If you handed this drink to me and didn't tell me what was in it, I wouldn't be able to tell it was rosemary. We don't live in this area but I love me a good quality coffee shop! Seven Seas is located on what I refer to as coffee row. When looking up coffee places in Solana Beach, I noticed there were a good number of java spots in a concentrated area but loved the review for Seven Seas. I stopped here early morning two different days, the first day I went with the Triple Coconut despite typically doing black, boring coffee in the morning. I'm a sucker for all thing coconut and it was pure bliss. The next day I stopped by for an Americano and it was the best Americano I've had in awhile. Smooth, robust and just what the doctor ordered. We saw this coffee and ice cream shop as we were walking around Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach and we decided to check it out.....it had a nice and open layout and the curb appeal, was very inviting. Inside we got to talk to the lady behind the counter and she gave us a nice history of the brand, which has several locations around San Diego and this one in Solana Beach had only been open since the summer of 2023. She mentioned to us that the American coffee revolution has been dark and bitter-strong. But Seven Seas Roasting Company decided instead to focus on the flavors of Southeast Asian coffee....lighter...... In 2017, Seven Seas became the first American company to import specialty coffees from Laos. The coffee shop offers medium and dark roasts but they really focus on exposing people to the lighter varietals. I am not a coffee drinker, but my husband and friends are. I focused my attention on their interesting ice cream flavor varieties like Chai and some of their specialty chocolate ones. read more

This place was rad. Keep it short and sweet there. Great staff, great merch, great decorations. I've picked my tattoo style to be American traditional. All of their stuff here this designed after that. They've got some local tease, delicious coffee beans, and super sick unique merch. Granted I never wear cotton T-shirts so I had to pass, but this place is truly cool. A lot of times I go to these hipster, coffee, shops, or these little yuppie spots where everyone's glued to every apple product known to man. But every once in a while, you find a unique place that caters to something you're more interested in I think this place really hits that mark for something a little bit different. We were walking around Solana Beach with our dog and just happened to stumble upon this cute and small coffee spot for our afternoon caffeine fix. The honey lavender latte and chai latte were so good! We were pleasantly surprised to find that they have soy milk as an option. I know oat and almond milk are pretty popular alternatives, but I don't feel like many coffee shops nowadays offer soy. Our drinks didn't taste watered down and had a really strong espresso flavor, which we liked. I loved the seasonal drink I got here - a dark chocolate ganache I believe? It had a long name, and wasn't on their regular menu. As most places, you can sub for oat milk or other alt milks. The service was really what made this place memorable though - such a friendly cashier! I have never been to their other locations but they are at some local farmers markets in a truck. We tried a mocha (which they make with dark chocolate, hint of raspberry, and vanilla), a classic perfect cappuccino, solid dark roast, and depth (aka hammerhead.) We were excited to see they now have food. We got a sample of the pastries, a blackberry turnover and a lemon poppyseed muffin. Foods in the cold case a mango overnight oats, blackberry chai chia pudding. Also the ice cream is in!! When I arrived I was super excited to try as their menu looked good and the reviews were awesome. By the time I left I was noticeably upset and didn't even want my order anymore. I never write bad reviews ever cause that's not my thing, but even my partner noticed how rude the staff were being. I ordered 1 item for takeaway and would estimate I was there for over half an hour (there were customers but it was not super busy). My order also did not meet the expectations I had for the price and the reviews I previously saw on here- I had my partner try it and even he did not like it. I have no idea if I just came at the wrong time or simply looked a way they didn't like, but this was not the first time experience I was hoping for. I waited patiently and I left a tip (I always tip, regardless). However, none of that made any difference. Im sorry for the review but I have to be honest.
