Unfortunately, this experience was very different and left me disappointed. For my first appointment, I accidentally arrived 30 minutes late because I misread the appointment time. I understand that being late was my mistake. However, I wish she had called or texted me to let me know I needed to reschedule instead of having me wait while she finished with other clients. She still completed my appointment, and I genuinely loved the shape of my eyebrows. During that first visit, she also made comments about my country and said that the food "uncleanliness" based on something she had seen on YouTube. I found those comments unnecessary and disrespectful. It made me feel uncomfortable, and I didn't expect to have my country or culture criticized during a professional appointment. About two weeks later, I felt my eyebrows needed a touch-up because they looked more like a tattoo than the soft, natural look I was hoping for. I contacted her, and she agreed to do a touch-up for an additional $80. Communication through text was not very clear, but we scheduled the appointment for 10:00 a.m. This is where my biggest disappointment began. I arrived on time--actually a few minutes early--but the studio was closed. When I called, she apologized and said she had forgotten to put me on her schedule. She asked if I could come back at 11:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. Unfortunately, I had already planned my day around the appointment, so this was very frustrating. I understand that mistakes happen, but I expected better communication and respect for my time. During the touch-up, I politely asked if a slightly darker shade could be used. Instead of discussing my concerns, I felt she became defensive and insisted that her original work looked best. Since she is the professional, I trusted her judgment and told her to proceed. When I arrived, she also seemed to be in a bad mood. Before starting my appointment, she spent time cleaning the studio while another client and I sat waiting. During the procedure, I pointed out a few areas that looked lighter and asked if they could be filled in. Rather than listening to my concerns, it felt like she argued with me. At that point, I chose not to continue the discussion because I didn't want any conflict. The most uncomfortable part of my visit happened when, without asking for my permission, she invited another client into the treatment room to look at my eyebrows while explaining her technique and the pigment she used. I felt this was inappropriate and disrespectful of my privacy. I would have appreciated being asked for my consent first. I truly believe she is a talented and skilled microblading artist, and that's why I returned after six years. However, excellent technical skills should be matched by respectful communication, professionalism, punctuality, and consideration for a client's comfort and privacy. Upon walking up to the shop entrance, I was greeted by a friendly employee named Shaleha who introduced herself then asked what service I wanted done and was informed of the price for threading. As I sat in the salon chair, Shaleha quickly went to work on removing hair from my face, chin and neck as well as explained how the hair on my neck grew differently than the fair on my face and chin due to having thinner skin in that area. After Shaleha finished threading my face, chin, and neck, she sprayed my face with cool aloe vera spray then decided to check a final time to confirm that she removed all the unwanted hair. Following the end of my threading appointment, I promptly paid Shaleha for her threading services and was given a loyalty card to use at future visits. Although I live a ways away from this salon in Garden Grove, due to the thorough threading from Shaleha, I will absolutely visit again the next time I need threading services done and am in the area.
