This restaurant is set in the Hauser and Wirth art Gallery complex and since we got there early we toured the front gallery with an incredible assist from a docent named Michael who pointed out the most incredible pieces and steered us to the gallery at the back of the complex behind Manuela's. Both galleries are worth exploring. However, back to Manuela's. Our very friendly server sat us on the large wraparound patio and after my explaining my celiac issues and getting some guidance on their incredible menu, we shared the following after my friend ordered a delicious Sangria while knowing as a lightweight and cheap date I would be having 6 cocktails later, I ordered the Ta Ta Tatiana- Watermelon, ginger, honey, lemon, mint, bitters: Cast iron cornbread, cultured butter, wildflower honey Kusshi oysters, Nantes carrot mignonette Arugula, emerald beauty plum, goat cheese, spiced pecans, aged balsamic Hokkaido scallops, brown butter-bacon vinaigrette, mustard greens The oysters came out first and had a delightful and unusual carrot mignonette. Small and not like Louisiana Gulf Oysters, they were fresh and delicious. Next came the Arugula salad that was tart and tasty as well as a generous portion. The cast iron cornbread was ridiculously so good I joked that I would just order two of them next time. This joint actually makes their cornbread without flour which is sadly rare for me so not only was this a gluten free treat, it was light and just melted in blissful corn flavor. Last came the scallops in a brown butter bacon vinaigrette with mustard greens that was so perfectly prepared these might be the best scallops I've ever eaten, which can sometimes be dicey. With the sauce they could have served blackened, sautéed asphalt and it would have tasted good. Well done to Manuela's all around.

There was so much talking, catching up, and laughing. Then the food arrived and suddenly all you heard were forks and spoons hitting plates followed by a bunch of "mmm," "oh wow," and "girl! you've got to try this." That's when you know the food is doing its job. Our server was amazing and took such great care of us. Everything came out smoothly, and we never felt rushed. Between the beautiful setting, incredible food, and being surrounded by people I love, it was one of those afternoons I'll always remember. I'm sure I would have been happy with the pancakes, but so glad I opted for the linguine. The pasta was perfectly cooked and it was a bright and tasty dish with a slight citrus zest. The decor and ambience is absolutely remarkable, so much so that we just had to stare at every detail when walking over to the terrace. Even in the searing summer heat, the terrace offered us a soft, peaceful breeze, so everything felt just right. At the same time, we took advantage of the lovely views of the neighborhood on one side and the beautiful interior of the bar as a centerpiece on the other. Whether having drinks or a meal, this was the perfect setting. Each person on staff was very welcoming and enthusiastic, and they hit the right notes in terms of helping to set the atmosphere. We were recommended the sticky Japanese sweet potato and informed that the skewers would also be delicious and filling. The king salmon skewer and glazed pork belly skewers were indeed amazing. It was obvious that each culinary item was treated with great attention to detail. For me personally, the shoyu, pickled daikon, and rhubarb on the pork belly truly created that perfect bite. Needless to say, I cannot wait for my next trek to the magnificent Checker Hall.

Warning! Girls are cute but will hustle and steel your money for example: you need to prepay $150 for a four song dance some girls will actually do one or one and a half songs and tell you she will be right back but never comes back leaving you paying $150 for one and a half songs management will tell you they don't get involved and all prepaid dances are non-refundable. Another example: as soon as you walk into the club you will be approached within 3 seconds by a girl offering you to take you on a quick (free tour) she will tell you she's the waitress and she needs $150 to open a tab to show her the money she takes it gives it to a guy waiting behind a curtain not knowing you were paying for a lap dance scam. Another example: you will find a girl offering you all types of sexual acts from giving you massages to wanting to take your clothes off all they need yes you guessed it is pre paid $150. I don't have to tell you that shes not going to give you more than a below average lap dance. These are the stories I personally observed while being inside this club! Just be careful with the so called lap dances unless you don't care to throw away $150 and not get much in return including the lap dance itself! read more

I have been to at least ten strip clubs and this was by far the worst experience. They charged $20 to get in, then $9 for a small cup of non alcoholic beer. That wasn't the worst part though. I was sitting at the front seats by the stage and saw maybe 3 girls dance. I had a 100$ stack of ones in my front pocket of my T-shirt. A girl named Bianca, black stripper, grabbed my money out of my pocket and threw it in the air. Huge disrespect. I stood up and asked her why she did that. And she said, "you're making it rain" so after they were nearly done piling up the money I grabbed my money off the stage. She got upset and said I couldn't do that. I sat back down and I was furious. Managers and security came up to me and my friend and asked us to leave. I tried explaining what happened and they said they didnt see the girl grab money out of my pocket. This place is garbage. Girls have no respect. Dont expect to get treated like a gentlemen. Oh also I was offered cocain right before this happened by one girl, and another girl asked me if I had cocain before that. I counted my money after I left and I was still short $30. read more

I went in about 8pm and the doorman said they only had 2 cute girls working. I go in and one is about to go onstage. Topper a few and she asked me for a dance and I said no. The other girl then goes up and I tip her a few and she didn't ask me for a dance. Neither of them were interested to talk to me at all. Some other customer came in 10 min later and they both go up on stage again for the new customers. Didn't even bother talking with me at all. Went to one girl and asked why they don't talk to customers and she asked me for a dance and that it was her body. I denied, Went to the manager and complained. I even asked for my money back cuz I was in there for only 20 min. They couldn't even give me a pass for next time. This club is trash. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Sooooo me and my friends came her just to finally check out a strip club and ...it was not what I expected!!! Like I said it was my first time at a strip club, but my ex loved strip clubs so I guess I was expecting a lil' too much??? Cuz, there was like 2 pretty girls, and on on a scale of 1-10 they were like 8's. All the other girls...well lets just say they should not be taking their clothes off in front of people! I'm giving it five stars only because I had fun there the times I attended the joint. The women were very friendly and talkative not to mention attractive. Sure the entry-fee is a bit pricy but I had flyers to cover the entry free. But ten bucks out my pocket for two bottles of water and a redbull wasn't really an issue. I don't know how the place is now after my appearance in 2007. I guess I felt the love because I was 18 at the time in my own opinion. I do want to say I saw Lamar Odom there. He left the place because no one really knew or recognize him as the big shot NBA player he is now. Fucking aye. read more

What a sorry excuse for a club. I know it's a Tuesday and it's not 2am. They say it'll get busy later - but damn. I walk in and 1 chick dancing - she's a 6 at best and I later find out she doesn't speak English. Then 1/2 hour goes by ... No one dances. Then a blond approaches and she's a 5 at best and should be a used car salesman. Tries to walk me on a free tour and get a credit card for a private VIP. Can I see what I'm buying first - it's a fucking strip club. $20 to get in and $8 for a warm shitty Becks Light. The only beer they have. Don't go !!!!! read more

If I can leave ZERO stars I would... This is the worst service place ever been to. The hostess in the front is the most rude lady I ever met. This is simply not how you run a business by talking to your customers thinking you are above them. On top of that the women here are hideous, I had a 40+ year old junkie greet me at the door she looked high on cocaine or some opiate and wanted to charge $40 minimum for one song dance. The manager Romey or whatever his name is, is a horrible person who deserves to lose his business. The club was so boring so me & my friend called some of our friends up to come through and throw money, and the manager assumed we met our friends in the parking lot & claimed we was trying to take money from his girls ( money we brought in the club btw ) and he banned us from the club. I don't see why Seventh Veil has so many bad reviews, Ive gone there like 6 or 7 times, and Ive never gotten overcharged like a couple of people say. The dancing Isnt the best there, but It will do for any guy that just wants to see girls fully nude and get a decent little show. The bachelor was crying because we were at a strip club and he went inside and had a blast!! The amount of money you spend on the sweaty, stretch-marked, sub-humans in this joint directly correlates to your blood alcohol content. I got one lapdance from a chick who looked like Steve Buscemi and my pants still smell like cat food and burning tires. Forget what I said earlier, actually. We stopped at the famous Seventh Veil (remember Vince Neil singing "Girls! Girls! Girls!" late last night to enjoy a little eye candy, and we all were so disappointed. This place got 4 stars because they serve beer till late as shit!! the girls are pretty nice but the DJ rocks and when you have a dj that can make the crowd happy the vibe is always good!! 1. $20 entrance each person, but most time from sat 9pm to 10pm (we stayed) no dancer on the table. 4-5 show girls walking around for lapdance chances. 2. Yes, a membership is required, and you must be interviewed to be granted one. This place takes couples only, no single guys, but does allow single girls. This works in a way for couples who are not okay with single guys approaching them. Single guys can be trouble some. The place has two floors and has plenty of beds, chairs, and playrooms to be yourself in and explore your inner fantasies. There is a club type dance floor on top with a DJ, and people do dance and have fun. The bar is also there, although they don't sell alcohol; you must bring your own, and they will hold it for you and pour it out for you. This is where I have a problem with: the line to get your own drink gets really long, and most of the time there is just 1 or 2 people working the bar, and 9 out of 10 times one of them is drunk and spends 20 minutes taking care of someone because they are being chatty and catching up on life and taking shots. Not ideal when you're trying to have a good time and have a drink. They really need to work on this; these ladies work for tips and they do get the tips, so I'm not sure why they don't provide the service. Besides this crazy bar madness, they also have a hot buffet area for people, and they usually have really good food. They have lockers for your stuff, and the party here runs until 5 am most nights. This place is unique because it brings all types of curious people, and you see it all, from cucks to swapping to just observers. Coming here does not mean you need to participate; you can just watch or do your own thing, which is great. Most people are respectful, but there's always that one person. The second floor is where all the fun happens: multiple rooms, a huge bed in the middle, options to lock the door for private play or not, showers, and coed bathrooms are all downstairs, and all safety amenities are provided, including towels. So use them and have fun! The location is literally right on the hood, though, so be careful where you park. Other than that, it is a great place for you and your significant other to try some new things or just check out the scene. I wish I could post new updated pics, but they do have a rule where you're not allowed to take pictures, for privacy purposes, which I am okay with. Happy experimenting!
