CALL THESE GUYS FIRST!!! They are the most honest company out there!! I was scammed by 2 different companies when I purchased a 100 year old home in Tacoma. The offer was contingent on a good sewer scope that was never shown to me, only my agent. Then after the offer was done I was told the bill couldn't be itemized to show what was done, it was miscellaneous $525. I contacted another company and was told I needed $50K worth of repairs. Now I need a second opinion. I contacted Sewer Inspector, I spoke with the owner Mike and he told me a lot of times when they look at the lines they look fine. They are in the business of scoping the lines, not fixing the lines, so they are not biased. They have the best equipment, easy to see the images, as well as technicians who explain what you are looking at. I had Kyle, he was great. He came out on a Saturday, no extra charge. Talked the whole thing through, walked me down the street, showed me where my sewer line ran. I paid them $200!!! Not $525, or $50K!!! Nice honest company. Sewer Inspector accomplished a tricky job that others couldn't (when a previous inspector from another company had been unable to get the scope past a turn only four feet into our side sewer line, we had Sewer Inspector come out to attempt to scope the entire 70 foot length if possible... and they did!) Kyle arrived early, was friendly, courteous, professional, and great about answering our questions and explaining the process to us as he went. Mike provides clear explanations of the process, documentation and a DVD. Maybe not the most thrilling dvd you've ever watched, but it will definitely save you money in the long run! I have had both Mike and Kyle inspect multiple properties for myself and clients. They are on time, knowledgeable and honest. Unlike many other companies, they do NOT conduct repair work. You get an honest assessment of what is going on, video, photos and a report. You can then take those items and find a contractor to do any necessary work. I have used another company to do sewer scope work in the past and they would upsell expensive repairs or replacements as add ons. The report that was generated from Tacoma Sewer Scope seems far fetched and recommendations unwarranted. I've lived in my home nearly 3 years and never had any plumbing issues, yet the report these guys generated says "repair and replacement" of entire sewer line. The video they generated show some blockages but nothing that dictates having a whole sewer line replaced. If that were the case, I am near certain I'd have had some issues arise throughout the duration of my time in my home. I'd opt for another sewer inspector unless you want outlandish requests in a report- then these are your guys. read more

These people as there was two of them wore booties when they came into my house on a rainy. Yea! As I and my husband installed the side sewer ourselves, I was able to redirect them several times especially when they were tracking my water line. However, the owner made a statement that I watched my contractor which I corrected. That male chauvinistic statement has raised my ire. He needs to grow up. Women do things. I've been in the underground pipe repair business for over 20 years. We have 7 camera systems of our own, but do not provide inspection services for Real Estate transactions to avoid conflicts of interest. Mike and his team at Tacoma sewer inspectors care enough to take the extra time it takes to give as much actionable information as possible. Mike couldn't see much with my cleanout, so he then got up on a very steep 2nd story roof and tried to go in the top of the stack. Watching him take heavy equipment- maybe a hundred feet of cable on a metal spool- up two ladders made me super nervous, but he knows what he is doing.
