We had a long day of traveling through the Smoky's and found this place on our way back to our airbnb. Every table gets a basket of popcorn. We got the mozzarella sticks (you get more, we just dug in before I got a pic) and you can tell they were handmade! The food was very filling and the restaurant is quint and comfortable - a great way to end the day. The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive and the food was delicious and hearty. Best kept secret in East TN. It's located in the corner of a strip mall and if your not looking for it, you will pass it up. You should not pass this little gem up. Traveling through the area on the way home to Indiana from vacation. We always try to only stop at mom and pop places to eat. This fit the bill. Everyone here was so incredibly warm, kind, and helpful. All the employees had genuine warm smiles. Our waitress, Kristy was just the most kind, attentive, warm, and friendly person! Once you sit down they give you a basket of fresh popped pop corn to get your taste buds going which I thought was a very neat touch. The popcorn wasn't over or under buttered or salted either, so it felt like a pretty healthy way to start the meal. The menu is pretty extensive and everyone in our group was able to find many things on the menu that sounded amazing even though we all had different likes and dislikes in food. I ordered the country fried chicken with dumplings, steamed broccoli, and a house salad. The salad is BIG and FRESH! Their ranch dressing is home made and it is to die for. I have a feeling the croutons are home made as well and are perfect in crunchiness without being too hard or too soft. The entire meal was just absolutely perfect in every way. Everything came out hot, fresh, and homemade, just how you want it. Portions are HUGE and the prices are perfect. There isn't one thing to complain about. We found it super awesome that since it was our first time there we got a huge portion of their home made bread pudding for desert. I'm not a bread pudding person at all but this was amazing and came out nice and warm. It is good enough to turn anyone on to bread pudding for sure. The restaurant was very clean and inviting, and the men's restroom was well stocked and clean as a whistle. The real star of this show though was the service. Our waitress Kristy was just absolutely fantastic. So patient with us and just a genuinely kind person. The perfect waitress in every way. 3 stars means OK. This place is OK, for sure. Nothing great. Typical choices/menu of an American classic-food restaurant-- fried chicken, C.F. steak, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings etc. Also typical sides- mostly fried things and a few others. Some sandwiches, etc. also. Desserts looked good but I was full. I should have gotten one (they are served in small glasses with lids, which you can return for money off, the next dessert) but wasn't going home soon enough. So- why 3 stars? It was tasty but: The menu is not very wide or with much originality shown. I thought the sides were not varied enough, I thought the dumplings were very tasty but without much chicken. They don't have alcohol (like our most recent Supreme Court judge, "I like beer.") Repeat: the food is very good, solid-- just nothing imaginative or different. So, a solid 3 stars read more

I used to be a huge fan of this place and was excited to go for dinner. The new owners changed a lot and the food was inedible. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich and I wasn't able to bite into the chicken at all. I gave it to my boyfriend who also couldn't bite into it. I ended up just eating my dry mac and cheese for dinner. Very disappointed and will not be going back now. Took my husband here for dinner for the first time yesterday and he LOVED it! I've had take out here before and never been disappointed so we had a spontaneous dinner date last night and I knew he'd love it as well. Staff is so kind and friendly. Emma was our waitress and projected true southern charm, which we love. My hubby had the pot roast dinner and said it was amazing. I'm a salad girl, which I love their Caesar, and a side of their sweet potato casserole which is the best I've ever had (including homemade from grandma! Shh!).
