When I was younger, I used to envy guys who could pull off longer hairstyles. I've never been one of those guys who could pull off longer hairstyles. That is ofcourse, until I met Seyoung. When she first started cutting my hair, it was after I had grown it out from a buzz cut. I had no Idea Seyoung was going to help style it to what it looks like today. With my hair, I have to go shorter or longer because its puffy on the sides and it stands up at times from the back. With Seyoung's hair cutting technique, I dont have that issue any more. With longer hair, you have more vareity of hairstyles. If I want it edgy, she'll texturize it for me. Sometimes I'll want to part it to the side or do a pompadour and she'll show me how to style that look. Even when I had shorter hair I would love when she would chip into pieces of it with a razor to make it look cool. It's so much fun having Seyoung do my hair, because there are so many options and styles that we can go for. I also become so attached to Seyoung that I love just seeing her and catching up like an old friend. I look forward to every trip because its also a way for a guy to just pamper himself. It looks like I've found my new favorite hair salon in Orange County...and more specifically, my absolute favorite stylist in the OC - Seyoung! I walked into Victor Paul the other day and got the best cut I've had in years. And for a guy, I'm fairly picky about my haircuts, so I don't throw compliments like this around lightly. But the best way to describe the quality of the cut with Seyoung, and the overall experience at this salon, is that it's just the NEXT LEVEL up. I've sort of hopped around to a few different chairs and salons over the last few years, looking for that one that was just right, where I would actually want to recommend it to my friends. Out of all the stylists I've experienced in the past 28 years, Seyoung shines brightly. Have you ever had a stylist treat your hair like an objet d'art? Like it was a long-lost original Monet? That's probably the best way to describe her service model. I've had capable stylists before, but they usually made me feel like a product on an assembly line. With Seyoung, it's more like my hair is a carefully prepared piece by Georges Braque himself. Every stroke of color she applies, each swipe of hair--she could legally patent them as tokens of unique intellectual property. She works hard, but thinks even harder about what is going to be best for you and your hair. If there is a chance your hair could look like something from the cover of Self or Bazaar, Seyoung is capable of making it happen. Her natural talents are self-evident, and I have recommended her to many male and female friends and associates. She's one of those stylists you worry about losing somehow in the future...she's that unique. As for the salon itself, it's ideal. The location is highly accessible with immediate and ample parking. The ambience is tactful and tasteful. Victor Paul Salon is not obnoxious like many salons this day and age. I'm sure we've all experienced salons with terrible noise levels, blasting bad music, turning what should be a fun and relaxing experience into a "when will it be over" chore. You will not find that at Victor Paul Salon. The level of customer service found here is nothing short of profound. They smile constantly and show genuine concern for your entire appointment. I've actually had stylists there ask me if I needed anything! At other salons the stylists are seemingly either in their own world or showing attitude to the stylist in the next chair over. At Victor Paul Salon, everyone is a true talented professional. I dont know what else to mention except the salon is just timeless all around. So, why only 4-stars? As my only review in 28 years of visiting many stylists, I rank Seyoung as an epic stylist. In my humble (or perhaps zealous) opinion, only legendary figures such as Sassoon, Mitchell, Frieda, and Westmore can command the rank of 5-stars. Nonetheless, Seyoung is of their mould.
