2 trips to Slapfish in two days! How lucky am I? The bottom line is that while the delicious food and menu are the same, the vibe is very different. Today, I'm in the Fishers District location. Yesterday I met a friend at Carmel Market District location. It was lunchtime and they attract shoppers looking for a snack. Their other customers are connected with IU Hospital Carmel. It's table service after you order at the counter with a self-service beverage. Fishers District is more of an open-air restaurant concept. The front window opens. There are patio tables, so you can see and be seen. (Very Fishers District--outdoor seating is "de rigueur" at Fishers District eateries.) I tried a cup of the clam chowder with my fish tacos--it was creamy and delicious! I highly recommend the establishment and both locations. read more

We had ordered DoorDash from the downtown location a couple years ago. So when we were in area of this location we decided to give them a try. Visited on New Years Day and they weren't busy at all. We were greeted and seated promptly Our server was wonderful. He gave recommendations and was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. They have a bar and beers on tap However we opted for Coke Zero today App- lobster crab dip was creamy and had lots of meat in it. Seasoned perfectly. The homemade chips are crunchy like a kettle chip and dusted with old bay seasoning. Portion was large enough for 2-3 people Clobster grilled cheese- filled with lots of lobster and crab very cheesy and toasted perfectly. Fries are fresh natural cut and dusted with old bay. I would have preferred them to have been cooked a little longer however that is just a personal preference. Surf and turf burger- burger lacked salt but that yet again could be a personal preference other than that it was really good. Lots of lobster meat on top. The tomatoes were fresh. Outstanding! This is the first time we've ever been to SlapFish. We came here for Mother's Day 2026, and each of us ordered the clam chowder, which all three of us agreed it was excellent (not pictured). Great flavor, texture, and consistency with plenty of clams, topped with bacon and chives. Mom got the fish taco, Dad got the shrimp scampi, and I got the grilled fishbowl with blackened Seabass. Discovered this specific Fishers location during Lent and it is easily the best. The other Slapfish locations were good when I was craving really good seafood; and were huge for us as a Catholic Family during the season of Lent because they have choices everyone in the family loves. The Fishers (IKEA area) location is a standout for their amazing staff though... I've brought so many friends who had never eaten there before and it didn't matter who the employee was behind the register, they were always super cool and helpful. Plus, this location's ambiance is just really great. Even though it's small, it's decorated very airy... and the open front window/wall just lets in so much fresh air and light. It's like you're getting to eat outside without the hassle of eating outside. :) It's supposed to be mid-level prices but definitely on the higher end. You don't get an awful lot for what you pay. But I'll be dang if what you get isn't some of the best you'll have ever had. :) I would eat two Lobster Rolls daily if I could, but I'd be poor and fat. Lol. I love Slapfish and am never disappointed when I go here, especially this location! Love that the seafood always tastes fresh and delicious, and the food is always prepared very well. The restaurant is kind of small, so I recommend getting a reservation during the weekends, however, I was able to walk in around 5:30pm on a Saturday and get seated right away. I love the nautical decorations, and that the restaurant is clean. All the parking around is free, but there's limited parking right outside the restaurant. There's a super close free parking garage, but the parking spots are super tight and only the first floor is open to the public. However, there's a ton of free parking lots that are about a 3-5 minute walk from the restaurant. read more

Visited Slapfish with my dad, and it ended up being one of his favorite meals of the trip. We shared the lobster deviled eggs as an appetizer, and they were a definite hit! A fun and unexpected twist on a classic. I ordered the Power Bowl from the gluten-free menu, and it was fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling heavy. 7.17 & 7.19.25 -- had lunch with a work associate/friend on Thursday, and went back with my mom & the hubs on Saturday! For the first lunch, I had the grilled fish sandwich with the side salad (choiceof fries, slaw or salad), and my friend had the Hawaiian bowl -- grilled shrimp over a salad with nice chunks of pineapple. My sandwich had a nice soft bun and a good size of flaky fish. The side salad has a nice variety of fresh veggies (tomatoes, rashish, carrot), not just a greens mix. Yesterday, we got an appetizer of fried oysters, which were about a half dozen and came over piping hot friench fries, plus sides of ketchup and two other dipping sauces. My mom had the lobster roll and cole slaw, I had the lobster grinder (mix of lobster, shimp & fish - like a seafood salad) and side salad, and the hubs had the slapfish shrimp scampi. Been to some of the locations and always liked what I got, this time was no different. My wife had a salad topped with lobster, she said it was fantastic! I went with my traditional lobster grinder. I get my lobster fix along with the amazing bread. Our server was absolutely great, the setting is casual. They do have a limited selection of alcohol, enough that we found something I liked. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews honestly- the staff was very friendly, but the quality of the food is below average. This was our second trip here, we didn't love it the first time but a year later and it having such high reviews we decided to give it a second chance. We went on a Friday night, it was DEAD inside. We were one of three occupied tables when we arrived, we stayed less than an hour and we were the last ones there. Lobster dip: very rich, decent seafood flavor but it overall just a rich dip with a few pieces of lobster on top. Chips were seasoned well. Grouper sandwich: small piece of greasy fish, did not appear grilled to me, maybe pan fried? Either way it was not good. Lobster roll: this came highly recommended. To me, just a butter soaked toasted bread with maybe a couple ounces of lobster in a lot of sauce. Made my stomach hurt after one bite, and that was after pushing all the lobster to the end to get more of a lobster filled bite with less of the buttery bread. Cole slaw was the best part, but didn't finish it because my stomach hurt from the dip and roll. Sorry to be a buzzkill but this place doesn't live up to the ratings in MY opinion. Slapfish in Noblesville was one of the first Yelp Elite events I attended and it's cool seeing they now have a location in Fishers (as well as Indianapolis). The interior of Fishers location looks a little more sophisticated than the Noblesville location but still has a chill vibe. A host welcomes you and provides menus, you choose a seat, order at the counter, and food will be delivered to your table. Food is good as always. I had only been to this location for lunch and have never had an issue finding a table but when we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was packed! They had a 40 minute wait for a group of 3 but luckily they have some outdoor seating so we were able to grab a seat right away. It's table service but you do order at the counter. The staff is still super attentive after you sit down though so they bring water, plates, etc. The food here is always amazing and the portions are huge so definitely worth the money. I brought cake that they kept in the fridge until we were ready for it! They continued to check in with us and always had a smile! Honestly the service was the best part of our visit! Food wise! We enjoyed several items. Specifically the Mac n cheese, the fried oysters, lobster roll and the fettuccine! Those were all 10/10! Everything else was good but I'd rate them at more of a 8/10. So I went to slap fish today, September 13, 2025 got fish and chips for my husband, and of course, my favorite lobster deconstructed because I have to travel with it, and I didn't want the bread all soggy 12:15 lunchtime and to my dismay I get home open up the lobster and it was nothing but a bunch of crumbly pieces of lobster. I was beyond annoyed. I don't recommend getting it to go cause you don't know what they've packed up. I didn't think I needed to open it while I was there I would've sent the lobster back and requested some better looking lobster pieces. So for $26 it'll be another year or more before I have one and I'll eat in! I tell you nothing is like it used to be when they first opened up they were the bomb! and now not so much. I got the green light to drink up the broth from both my husband and the server but i did contain myself in the end. (Maybe next time ). Clean dining area with outdoor seating available. Went for early dinner and several tables had young children like us. Yes they can be loud and proud as expected. Years ago, I tried the Noblesville Slapfish, and gave it only three stars due to middling food and slow service. Amazingly, the owner contacted me, apologized, and sent us a gift card to try it again sometime. So, finally, we went back. Admittedly, this is a different location than before. Regardless, it was infinitely better. The lobster roll was absolutely delicious, with huge chunks of meat. The fries were hot and well seasoned. The workers were nice, service was fast, and the location was clean. Basically, they knocked it out of the park. Going forward, I will def recommend Slapfish. Seems very well run. read more

I have posted in the past that I have a food allergy to soy. I am really ill if I ingest it, so I am always delighted when I find somewhere using other oil. Slapfish is the place. They even make their own mayonnaise or aioli! It is kind of crazy when you first walk in. Never having been there before we did not know where menus were, that we were to get our own cokes or quite frankly how to order. It was busy and there was a line. We decided to find a table first and get the "layout". It wasn't long before a staff member asked if he could assist us. He suggested a roll with shrimp, lobster and crab. When it was delivered, I was shocked at the size of the sandwich. It was piled high with the seafood. It had a sauce of mayo and Jersey sauce. For me it was too much mayo/sauce. Next time I would ask for it lightly tossed in the sauce. I also had sweet potato fries. You don't nothin' about sweet potato fries till you try these. They were wonderful. My husband had the special which was fish and chips. The fish was cod and he had regular potato fries and slaw. He said his food was very good also. I recently went to Slapfish in Fisher which is a lot easier to find parking than the location at Mass Ave. The $1 oyster special every day is an amazing deal, even though the oysters are west coast oysters and on the smaller side. I'm also sad that they closed the Oyster Bar which was located downtown, where they used to have fresh fish specials. They did not seem to have fresh fish specials, but there was a list of fish that you can buy à la carte at very reasonable prices. The server on my most recent visit was super friendly and attentive. She made sure to check on us regularly and refilled our drinks without being asked. I would definitely recommend Slapfish to anyone looking for a casual seafood meal. I've visited twice and each time met wonderful people. The first time I went I ordered at the register and sat with my number. Easy peasy. The next time was a little more confusing. I was sat at the table but there wasn't a waitress (I don't think). Someone gave me water and then someone took my order.
