Great place to get all you can eat shabu shabu. Super friendly service, a huge selection of items. The meat was better than expected, pretty good quality for what it is. Overall, highly recommend and I would come back.

I didn't even know this place existed until my friend recommended it! Solid spot for hot pot. We came on a Thursday afternoon, and it wasn't too busy. The inside is large, spacious, and clean. I got the fresh beef bone gravy base soup which was pretty basic but still good. For lunch time, we were allowed to choose from meats #5-11. Our favorites were the beef belly- thin and tender. The sauce bar was lit; they had everything you could possibly need. Additionally, the noodle selection was great. They had ramen, egg, kale noodles and a few others. Fresh vegetables and seafood. They also offered japchae, tteokbokki, and fried rice along with typical side dishes such as a variety of kimchi. The selection all around was amazing. The ice cream was really tough to scoop out, so I got as much as my strength could give lol. I liked the subtle coffee flavor. Our server was super sweet and social. I would definitely love to come back!

Decided to check out Shabu Town for our very first hotpot experience. And unfortunately I was severely disappointed with the service especially after stating we have never done hotpot before. After our initial order, we were left waiting and waiting for our next round of meats. Finally we had to go up and let one of the servers know we have been waiting and want to order more food. For an all you can eat place, it almost felt like it wasn't. They were super quick with the check though! The broths were kind of bland, but the sauces definitely helped bring some flavor to the meal. The side buffet was really nice. Lots of accompaniments along with some seafood. Due to the service alone, I don't see myself coming back here.

Amazing prices! Great place to go to if you are skipping school. So much fun, so much food. Our server was good

Price is decent, lots of parking spaces shared with other businesses such as Big Lots. Service is friendly yet slow but also, they're short staffed. There was only two people taking orders and maybe a manager to assist. Other staffs handled emptying plates and restocking the buffet area. If you're into good broths and good meat selections, this is not the place. If you're new and don't care, come here. Individual broth pots, which is fine but the broths taste like instant noodles packets. The meat slices are so thin, it's thinner than rice papers. You cannot get any thinner than this. However, the vegetables selections are quite good. Clean and fresher than most AYCE hotpot buffets. There's a good selection of seafoods and noodles as well. There's enough space to walk and to eat. This place can be the it place. There's room for improvements. Have thicker slices of meat and better broths can top this AYCE buffet.

Already took 18% tips and recommended more . . $28 tips for 4 adult and one toddler is enough .

We arrived 1.5 hours before closing, with a group of four adults and one toddler. After an hour, we received the check, which included a $28 gratuity fee. I had heard that automatic gratuity is typically applied for groups of six or more, so I was surprised to see it added to our bill. This might explain why the service was slow around 8 o'clock. When we paid with our credit card, the receipt showed suggested tip amounts, which I found shocking. This was our first visit and will definitely be our last time here.

We tried different soup bases - they were all way too bland and taste exactly like instant ramen soup. The server was really nice explaining their rules at the beginning, but not saying anything when dropping meat and rushed away. And look at these beef slices - they are the most skinniest slices I've ever seen. Sorry to say we were disappointed, but I would not be back.

One of the best kept secrets in Katy and hotpots! We frequent Shabu Zone down in Alief Chinatown, however, the crowd is always massive there and a long wait if you don't get there early enough. Discovered this place from a friend and if you want to avoid the crowds and go to a cleaner environment, then this is the place for you. Shabu Town took over a Chinese buffet which was sadly what I remembered as a pretty good Chinese buffet restaurant. The location isn't that great for business but hopefully this place will stay running. The meat is good quality. I like their premade sauces as well. They also serve japchae (Korean noodles), fried rice and tteokbokki (Korean spicy rice cake) on occasions. They used to bring out ice cream to you after dinner upon request, which I liked because you didn't have people digging their arms and hand to scoop out ice cream, but unfortunately ice cream is now self-serve like Shabu Zone. This place is for you if you're craving hotpot and don't want to spend too much.

The highlight of our visit was our server, Ryan, who was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and we would definitely return mainly just because of his outstanding service. Now, coming to the food -- The broth selection was enjoyable. My favorites were the tom yum and tomato broths, while the chicken broth was flavorful and comforting. The Szechuan broth, however, was extremely spicy, so it's best suited for those who really enjoy heat. The food overall was good, though not the best hot pot we've had. One small drawback was that the tables felt a bit cramped, especially when all the ingredients and cookware were on the table. What truly made the evening memorable was the cultural dance performance at the end. It added a unique and festive touch to the experience, making the night feel extra special.

We explained it was our first time in and he nodded and seated us. Our waitress came over with an iPad and hurried away and said she'd be back. It took a while so we went ahead and ordered the base soups from the iPad, but when the waitress came back she explained how the order was already in and can't be canceled so we couldn't order the deluxe set menu. Which was disappointing, because the cost has now increased significantly. Then she talked us into the dancing noodles, which we agreed on because it was our birthday dinner. Unfortunately, she came back to say it wasn't available because the chef was not working. At this point we should have just left. We ordered lamb, meat, tofu, fish balls, beef tendon balls, assorted vegetables and mushrooms as well as the sauce bar. Food was great, a fun experience with the robot and cooking at the table. Everything was fresh and well organized. I just wish that we were informed of the deluxe menu vs the pick and choose. We left there paying about $150 with tip for 2 people. Tried to email the management as offered, but the email address does not appear to exist as I got a Failure Notice immediately.

There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem

I don't write from the perspective of comparing this food to other Malaysian dishes that I've had in point of fact to the best of my recollection I don't think that I've ever had Malaysian cuisine. But if this restaurant is an example, I have missed a great deal. The food is very unique the servings are very gracious charitable. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the distinction of this particular cuisine and given the portions and quality of food that is served. The service is quite simple and the restaurant is actually quite small. However, I must tell you from A service perspective. It's truthfully amazing because the takeout business is extremely active. Not to mention the fact that the chef walks out and speaks to people will share anything that you want to know about Malaysian food and obviously from the quality of the food that I ate not only is his explanation thorough but my guess is his skills are incredible. As I said it is very small so it's difficult to Alpine about the ambience other than it was quite clean and given the number of whom I suspect were Malaysian people it's obviously quite popular within that community. So I take that to be a sign that this food is quite native in nature. I had a pork meal, which is only on Sundays. I spoke to the chef about it, and he explained that the preparation started one day in advance of actually serving the meal, so I understand why it is only served once a week. Although I must tell you because I lack familiarity it seemed to me that I would be hours and hours trying to replicate any of the dishes. All I can tell you is this if you are in an exploratory mood for a cuisine and have had or have not had Malaysian before I suspect this is a place to go. Quite informal, extremely fair pricing very generous portions great service very pleasant people and frankly it's a a family affair of what you will see many when you go. Quite a lovely experience.
