This is one of the only shabu places I've been to that let's you do AYCE alone. Came here for lunch on my day off and the place started with some room around noon but quickly got packed by 1. I've been here for dinner before and they get very crowded with sometimes a minimum of an hour wait, so being able to come at lunch before they were busy was great. The broth: 5/5 I got the sukiyaki broth which is slightly sweet and clear. This is probably one of my favorite broths at any shabu places this far. The flavor is very light and if it wasn't boiling to cook the meat I might have drank more of it while eating. The meat: 4/5 The mean is good, the beef toro is my favorite since it cooks very fast and is very thin and light. Only giving it a 4 because there's only 5 choices of meat. Since I came alone this is no probable but I know if I went with a group of friends some of them would want more choices. The service: 5/5 My waitress, Riana T. was very nice and always check in on me when she passed by or saw that I was getting low on meat. Her cheerful attitude is really contagious. read more

This is a great place to eat with friends and family. I initially thought it would be a communal hotpot, but it is actually personal hot pot. The great thing about this place is that the buffet area with vegetables and noodles, also includes seafood. Most all you can eat shabu shabu places I have been to usually charge extra for seafood, but this place already includes it. The quality of the beef itself is really great, the only problem is that the pieces are sliced very thin, and the number that they bring out to begin with is not that much. However there is no limit as to how many rounds you can go. The few problems about the location however is that the plaza it is located in is very busy, so it can be pretty difficult finding parking. Furthermore the wait can get pretty long. When I went here, our group of four had to wait roughly an hour and a half before getting seated. Overall the wait is worth it taking into account the quality of the food and the price of what it all costs. Definitely a 5/5 and would come back again! read more

Horrible experience with the workers! We first arrived & went to get a table but the rude girl at the front will hella makeup asks how many of us, grabs the menus then walk us over. A few of our guests were still making their way in when she said we can't sit because they're not inside yet so she basically has us go outside to wait. She was so rude & definitely wasn't having a great day taking it out on the customers. Then like few mins later another girl comes out & call us in. She's the short midget one. We're thinking oh, maybe they changed their mind we can go ahead & sit while waiting. She sits us all down & realize two of our party isn't inside yet. She then gets us all up & tell us we have to go outside & wait until the last two walks up from the parking lot. Sooooo damn rude!!! We are already sitting & gotta get back up! These two obviously don't know how to count or what? It was so ridiculous & so damn rude of them to remove us like that! If it was up to me we wouldn't even had walked back in to eat there but since I went with a group, it wasn't my choice. The food was good but you guys get 1 star for POOR customer service!!! The only nice person who seemed cheerful & happy to be working is the beautiful girl with pink hair. Fix yall attitudes & treat people right. If yall want to be moody & jobless then stay home. There are many things I enjoyed about this place. PROS: Individual hot pot isYES in my book. the pot was not as deep as a rice cooker pot thing like some other individual hot pots, it was wider and more shallow. In my opinion, it's better cause it makes it easier to grab all the food. Also, you can order appetizer included in the AYCE. Their "salad bar" was great, I like that they give you open access to basically everything you would cook in your hotpot EXCEPT THE MEATS. Basically, all your veggies, noodles, processed meats (fish balls, meatballs, ETC) and sauces are in the middle. FREE FOR ALL! like any salad bar, they have plates in the middle, and of course, you can grab as much as you want when you want. #whywait #getinmybelly. The people work hard at keeping it full at all times! and there are two sides with almost the same options. They had a nice selection of broths, including tonkatsu(i didn't choose that though) I had the sukiyaki, which I loved. FILLED WITH UMAMI. I also was able to try the spicy miso, which had just enough of a kick for my taste. When they fill up your broths they actually put your broth in. Not the base stock that I've seen in other hot pot places. The meats here are higher quality which explains why you have to order that through your server when you want more. They taste good. You have your choice of 4 types of meat at a time. Some places claim to have wagyu/Kobe and you have to pay an additional 1 -2 bucks, here its AYCE. Also, it comes out FAST. CONS: The table is kind of tight since you have to make room for the meats that come in, your hot pot, your 'eating' plate, sauce bowl, your drinks, and of course anything you get from the salad bar. You don't have a lot of wiggle room. It might be different if you sit at the booth Salad bar, again the plates are great, but when you want to get a bunch of spinach or round objects like eggs/clams they tend to roll around or fly so you can't really stockpile as much. Just make multiple trips. There was a lot of choices, but it's not AS much as other hotspots. It had all the things I want to eat, but something I miss. ACHOY, different types of tofu. dumplings. I hate to do this, but MY SPOT is no longer the same. But, one can understand... The pandemic has had a working on all of us. This too includes business owners. I have always been so impressed with the food quality, type, and set up of this place. Came back tonight, Friday, at around seven 7:30 PM, and we were rushed from the moment we sat down. We were reminded of the hour and a half time limit, no more chicken on the menu - meaning no more chicken or option for it - with your shabu shabu, and the charge that would be incurred if any meat was left behind. The Buffet selections are also nearly cut in half from what they previously were. I understand and can only imagine the struggles of a food business during this pandemic... But your prices and change in service/offerings should reflect such. It left for a hurried and less than enjoyable dining experience. I'm not sure it's worth coming back. There are many shabu shabu or hot pot places in the Bay Area, to sit, to eat, to enjoy conversation and just BE...Too bad...the food is still decent though! read more

Have gone to this couple times, once when everything was just opening up, couple of time in the middle of covid and most recently yesterday. I have to say they have made a lot of thing easier, quicker, faster and efficient. They have opened up the salad bar where you can go up and get your veggies and seafood for your hotpot. The only thing you have to order is the meat and the appetizers which for when we came it was pretty quick with the orders. Before the salad bar was open the service was slow and that was the only con. Since they have changed that it made our experience way~ better. 10/10. Honestly if your craving a hot pot style meal this is the way to go. All you can eat. Seafood option buffet bar with tons of veggies and awesome meat selection. I always get the Tonkotsu broth or Spicy Miso. The price is reasonable, considering it's all you can eat. Lunch is about $18 and Dinner $25. I love that you get your own individual soup bowl to mix your own seafood, meat, and veggie desires! I honestly love the different varieties of noodles and fishball options. Terrible management. We received a text message saying the table is ready an hour and half before the estimated time they told us. It took us 8 minutes to walk there because there are elderlies in our group and also we parked far cuz the parking is always full. When we got there, there were people cramped inside so we had to wait for a bit before we entered and talked to the host. The host said to hold on for a bit and he went away to assist some other groups. When it's finally our turn they said we were here late which is exactly 10 mins after they texted us. They said they already took us off the list and we saw a big group getting settled in at a table. They gave away the spot before the 10 minutes grace period and they were trying to tell us we were late for our table. They did not apologize nor try to mitigate the situation with us. We come here often but never again. None of them said sorry at any point. The manager is unapologetic and rude. All we wanted is an apology and accountability and we would have understood. read more

I am a hot pot connossieur and I've been to Shabuya several times. If you are looking for an AYCE hot pot, this place is the only game in the area. Overall the experience is good. The service is great, the atmosphere is modern and nice. The meat quality is pretty poor though, most of the cuts are pretty tough and stringy. The broth they use is pretty generic, probably powder based. Most of the sauces taste the same, like derivatives of Ponzu sauce. But for the price, it's a solid go to place for AYCE hot pot. I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars though unless they up the meat quality. read more

Had a great time here doing AYCE with my cousin. To start with the flaws, I would say the seating system could be improved with being able to do Yelp wait list from home. When you arrive you have to put your name down and wait. We went next door and waited in Barnes and noble for about 35-40 mins because it was pretty cold. It was also really cold inside the restaurant. However the food was amazing! I got the tonkotsu broth and my cousin got the spicy miso. You then get to order two appetizers and a time and 4 meats at a time. Another bummer was that the kitchen was having a lot of trouble bringing out the appetizers so we were only able to try two of them during our entire seating time. The bar in the middle is where you can get sauces, seafood, veggies, and a few other items to put in your hotpot. One other thing I found strange is to pay your waitress doesn't let you see a physical bill and I wasn't able to check the receipt. She just had a mobile pos she presented for me to pay. I also had to tip on the spot which started at 18% minimum for 2 people. So food 5 stars, service 3 stars. read more

This place is my favorite shabu, but not anymore since Sunday night 02/21/21 around 6.45pm . I've been there to reserve table for 2 adults, 2 five years old girls, and 1 year old baby boy. A host African American women who work there told me, it was a wait time for 3 hours. I was looking around outdoor, and I saw about 6 cleaned tables available. I don't know why she told me like that, because it's no line at all. And since then, we decided to eat ramen instead. On the way back we walked past by Shabuya again, and outdoor dining had only 3 tables customers, and more than 8 tables available. That night I was thinking I'm not gonna go there anymore. You just loose a big family customers, because of a bad employee. I usually celebrate here with my family when we have Birthday about 7-8 people not included kids and baby. From now on ... Goodbye!!! Terrible service! We waited for about an hour to get a table. They recorded our name and number but never texted to let us know our table was ready. The only reason we got a table was because I went up and asked for an update on our wait and told us "oh your table has been ready." No apology from the lady wearing glasses working the front. Secondly, they failed to alert us they were out of chicken (my wife and I cannot eat red meat, and that was the only other option on the menu for meat). At least put a sign up in front letting your customers know you are out of an item. Thirdly, our waiting absolutely SUCKED. They forgot our water and other drinks. Hardly ever checked in with us. Left us waiting to get a refill on our broth. And didn't seem to care much about serving us. Will NOT recommend this place. I can't stand a restaurant that has terrible customer service. read more

We got here around 6:15PM on a weekday. We were instantly seated although the place had a wait about an hour in when we left. The Soup The tonkotsu tastes great but loses it's flavor. When the meat protein coagulates, they absorb the flavors in the soup, so the broth loses flavor rather quickly. You should also be offered a taste of all the soups when you get there, so you're not kept guessing. My soup was refilled twice, but it would've been nice to try the other ones also. Meat Options You get a choice of multiple sliced meats. You can't really taste the flavor difference between them which is the main reason I'm only giving this place 3 stars. The main difference between the types of meat is the fat content but the flavors are all similar. There were mussels and shrimp available in the cold section which you can add to your soup. The mussels weren't the freshest. The shrimp wasn't peeled, so I didn't bother getting them. There should be an order option for seafood like salmon and other seafood. The beef/pork option tastes too similar. Appetizers The appetizers are all great although small portions. Our 1st set of appetizers arrived in 2 minutes and the next set took about 15 minutes. This is honestly my favorite place. My go too everyday if I could. Unfortunately yesterday 03/08/2023 I had such a horrible disgusting encounter. While I was eating with my family we noticed a cockroach running around on the table ! This is truly devastating and disgusting I was so disappointed. We immediately told our waiter and he tried to catch it but it ended up running away. We told him we wanted to leave immediately. He then brought us the bill when I spoke up and was appalled we had to pay when we weren't even satisfied or even finished eating yet. Came here with my fiancé, his coworker and coworkers wife. You do usually have to wait, since it does get very busy and your whole party has to be present to get sat down. Parking is extremely limited, as the plaza is constantly busy. It is very nice and clean inside, we did not have any issues regarding that. We ordered spicy broths, and a miso based broth. Each of us got our own specialty meat, and we ordered some gyoza for an appetizer! The toppings bar was loaded! I grabbed some eggs, ramen noodles, made my own dipping sauce and brought some shrimp to the table and got to work. You should lower your hotpot temp after you start eating, as it will burn into the pot. It was delicious and definitely worth its' price point. 4 meals and 4 drinks ended up costing about $120. read more
