Came here for a Friday evening date night. Luckily we came before it got real busy. Around 530pm got us a table right away. The ambiance reminds me of Gen BBQ with the modern look and pretty lights and actually it's quite nicer in my opinion. We got our table and couldn't help but notice the massive veggie, seafood, noodle station in the middle of the room. It was our first time, so we waited for instructions from our waiter. Our server was quite friendly and funny (can't quite remember his name) and he let us know that it's AYCE and grab your own veggies, seafood, and noodles. We ordered these light up Capri sun soju drinks that were quite yummy! It was very refreshing and went well with the shabu. You can order 4 meat plates at a time, unlimited apps, and you go all in! The wagyu meats were tender and had just enough marbling. Our server checked in on us several times and refilled our meat plate rather quickly. The chicken karaage app was very good and crispy so we ordered two of those! All in all, it was a great shabu experience and will definitely be back. My wife and came in today for dinner. Just short before I've been to Barnes & Nobles shopping for a book and I bought a coffee at their coffee shop. I brought the coffee with me to the table and when the server came she told me I can't have the coffee inside the restaurant and have to dump them outside before they would serve me/us! I ask her if she's kidding but she wasn't. So I asked to talk to the manager and when he came he told me it's the restaurant's policy and there no exception from the rule however I may can put the cup under the table on the floor! I told him I'm not a dog and there's no reason to treat their guests like shi$! He said signs are at the entrance and clearly stating no drinks from outside allowed... Of course my wife and I left the restaurant and when walking out we saw the signs but only INSIDE THE RESTAURANT! I even could understand this policy if they would sell coffee but they don't. Shabuya is a delightful and fun way to spend an evening. They offer a variety of broth bases, meat, and vegetables. Although the wait time may be long, it's well worth it. With all of the shops the veranda has to offer this wait time goes by pretty quick. I will say the music inside is overwhelming. It was our first time eating hot pot and it was amazing! Service was incredible with our waitress Camille, she was funny & informative!

We came to Shabuya before hitting up a drive-in movie in Concord on a Saturday so there was not yet a wait since it's like 4pm. We were super excited to try this place out as our group LOVES hot pot. The COVID precautions also made us feel very safe: temperature check at the door, covid vaccination card check for dining indoors, one person per party at a time to go up to the salad bar, hand sanitizers, and disposable gloves. And of course all the staff was masked. The individual pots and burners mean that we can choose our own soup base without having to share. There are 5 broths to choose from, and we got Tonkotsu and Spicy Miso broths - both were super flavorful! They also have appetizers you can get (ordering 2 at a time): gyoza and 3 types of karage (original, soy glazed, and volcano). All the apps are pretty delicious, but they do come in tiny proportions (we have 3 people so each item we ordered, we will get just 3 pieces). For dinner, there were 7 types of meats to choose from, and you can order 4 at a time (with 3 people at the table): prime blade meat, beef toro, short rib, pork belly, pork shoulder, prime cross rib, and flat iron steak. All the meats were high quality, fresh, and delicious. I think our favorites were beef toro, short rib, and the pork shoulder. They were incredibly tender; the only downside is that each plate doesn't come with a lot of meat, but luckily our servers were on top of helping us re-order when we run low! The salad bar is pretty well stocked, with veggies (unfortunately they only had one type of mushrooms and no enoki), noodles, seafood, tofu/balls. The seafood isn't the highest quality, but it's definitely nice they have them. I personally prefer Chinese hot pot style balls, but these aren't bad and more of a personal preference than anything. The sauce bar is also pretty good and suitable for shabu shabu. The reason why I took one star off is how loud it was for birthdays. I am all for people celebrating, and restaurants making a thing out of them, but they were also banging on pots HEAVILY which created loud and almost high pitch ringing in our ears. The first couple of times were doable, but by the 6th time in the hour that we were there, we were pretty stressed out by the noise. And then right after, they also crank up the music for 10 seconds or so, but it's LOUD. - like you're in a club (note that the normal music level is probably still high but absolutely NOT an issue at all). I went with a friend for lunch, for their lunch special, you can choose 2 appetizers, 2 broths and 4 meats. Then you go up to the salad bar and pile your plate full of things you want to add to your broth. Shrimp, fish, noodles galore, veggies beyond veggies. You name it, it's probably there. Once back at your table, they've brought you your broth and placed it on a burner and now your broth is heating up so you can add all those goodies to it and cook them. The customer service has gone downhill from the hostess counter, to the apps being served ice cold. I was in an old T-shirt, leggings, and flip flops, preparing myself for AYCE and I felt out of place in the shopping center but that's alright) with plenty of parking, but it can fill up quickly. We got there at 7pm I'm a Friday night for a party of 3 and there was no wait. I love the open space with great ventilation and AC. It made the experience so much better. The tables have the electric stoves and controls right under the table so you can control the temperature. Once you have your soup base, you can ask for four plates of meat at once. I recommend all of them, especially the waygu beef. You can actually see them from the back slicing up the meat. The rest of the food is in the middle island. They have a wide range of food including fish balls, fish tofu, shrimp, soft shell crab, mussels, fish, and octopus (the best). They had an assortment of noodles and veggies as well. We went here for my husband's birthday dinner. It was in the middle of the week so there was no line at all. They checked our temperature by the door. Masks were required to enter and while getting side dishes. They provide gallons of hand sanitizers and disposable plastic gloves before you grab a plate for the side dishes. I got the original house broth, which was quite plain in flavor since I wanted to feed some of the noodles to my daughter & I didn't want anything spicy. They had plenty of sauces to add to the broth so you can adjust the taste to your liking. Our waitress was very sweet & accommodating. DONT COME HERE TO CELEBRATE A BIRTHDAY. My nephew had his 9th birthday tonight at Shabuya. He loves ramen. He always comes here every birthday. Brandon, the waiter was very nice and accommodating at first. We originally booked a table for 9 people (6 adults 3 kids). The 9th person arrived 10 minutes until our 90 minute sit down timer went off. She only had about 1 bite of a long-sitting leftover from a random plate on the table. We had told Brandon originally to take the 9th person off the bill since she won't be having a meal, as well as 2 of the kids would split a meal. He agreed. We then got the bill & was charged for 9 adult people. We spoke to the manager, Justin (short Asian boy) regarding the issue and he insisted that he charge us for 9 adults since the 9th person ate a small bite of a leftover! That's ridiculous. We tried to reason with him how it was unfair that we be charged for 9 adults, when originally our waiter told us that we would be charged for 7 people. He argued with us for 20 minutes. It ruined our whole night and my nephew's 9th birthday! So disappointing since we loved Shabuya for so many years. This experience ruined Shabuya for us & we will be telling all of our family and friends to not come here if they're thinking about celebrating anything. All you can eat Shabu!????? This was the first buffet style Shabu restaurant I've ever been to. Honestly an amazing concept. Everyone gets their own personal stove top and broth. I tried the sukiyaki broth and loved the taste. They also offer a few others, but this stood out to me the most. While that heats up, you can make your way to the center of the restaurant that has 4 different sections of fixins you can add to your broth including seafood (fish balls, shrimp, clams, shrimp balls, etc.), carbs (rice cakes, variety of noodles - I tried the udon and ramen), veggies (mushrooms, spinach, sprouts, bak choy, etc.), and other sources of protein like raw eggs and quail eggs. Then you get to choose your meats, we probably ordered at least 5 rounds of meat for our party of 3...each round had 4 trays. We tried a few things in the beginning but stuck to what we liked: wagyu round and short rib (boneless of course). It was such a filling meal and literally AYCE. So the $25.99 for dinner is 100% justified. If you've never tried the shabu experience before, I highly encourage you to. And 10/10 would recommend Shabuya! read more

Besides from all the large variety of meats and other delicious offering to put into your hotpot- there's also a bunch of other food to order!! Our favorite is the gyoza and we always order it at least three times. Everything arrives super quickly and the staff comes by to get your order and check in on you often.
