Decided to try this spot as it was walking distance from our hotel. When we were walking in, I was wowed by how beautiful the patio area was. There was even a live singer performing! They start you off with a loaf of bread, which was piping hot and very fresh! We both got the three meat combos. I went with the brisket, ribs, and turkey with cinnamon apples and mashed potatoes. My boyfriend went with the sausage, ham, and brisket with fries and mac and cheese. The turkey was amazing!!! It was so flavorful and juicy! I also really liked the ribs as these were slathered in a sweet and smokey sauce, different from a lot of other bbq spots that do dry rubs. I got the leaner brisket while bf got the moist one, but I feel like I couldn't taste a huge difference between the two? (still decent tho). All the meats were solid, but I'd definitely try the turkey. All of the sides were really good portions! The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were both very creamy and well-seasoned! The cinnamon apples tasted exactly like the ones we used to eat in elementary school, so it was very nostalgic!

Sliced beef sandwich with fries and their spicy beans.

I've been here before and thought it was pretty good so i thought I would try it again.I sat down looked at the menu and decided with the sliced beef sandwich which came with fries and one side.As far as the sandwich goes it was pretty solid. The brisket was nice and tender. And the bun was toasted. The only thing it lacked was flavor.Just didn't taste any kind of seasoning on it.And i wasn't a big fan of their BBQ sauce. They keep it warm in a little bottle and it just was kind of bland. So next was the spicy beans as I got for my one side.I thought they were pretty tasty. They had a little spice to them but not too much. Now the fries were also good but I didn't eat that many of them because I was full.I forgot to tell you they give you a small loaf of bread before you get your meal.Which was delightful.Overall the experience was good and I would hit this place up again. Its definitely not at the top of my list of BBQ joints but it's not bad.Give it a shot and see what you think?

My wife and I used to work in the area and dined at Shady Oaks quite a few times for lunch. We no longer work close by but were in the area around lunchtime on a Saturday. We both decided we wanted "que" so we headed over to Shady Oaks for a late lunch, early dinner. Since it was the middle of the afternoon, they restaurant wasn't busy at all, we were seated immediately. It didn't take much time to decide on what we wanted to eat. My wife ordered the sliced beef sandwich with a side of French fries and apples. I ordered the 3-meat combo, marbled brisket, pepper sausage, and St. Louis style ribs, accompanied with potato salad, Cole slaw and a corn cobette, which automatically comes on the platter. In the meantime, Logan brought out Shady Oak's famous piping hot bread. It is SO good and fresh out of the oven. You've got to be careful you don't stuff your face with bread. Once you tear off a hunk from the loaf, it's hard not to tear off another and a another and so on. Thankfully, I stopped at two hunks. After a short wait, our entrees were delivered to our table by Logan. Logan had been very attentive ensuring our tea glasses kept topped off. The "que" was so good along with the sides. All was exactly liked we remembered it when we had dined at Shady Oaks previously. Thank you, Shady Oaks, for a relaxing time after a busy Saturday morning. We'll see you again soon.

This place is awesome- love the decor. They sat me quickly on the patio with my pups, the ribs were delicious! And the manager came through with water for my pups! And folks kept asking to pet the pups! Thanks for a great time!

Great service, great drinks. Food is pretty good as well! The turkey was delicious and I love the homemade BBQ sauce. Not the best BBQ I have had but not the worst either! Definitely worth a try.

My husband and I recently went here for the first time. We were disappointed with the flavor of the food,, but the quantity of food was plentiful and we would give that a five 5. I ordered the turkey, which was nice and moist, and I would give that a 3 1/2 or four 4, but my other sides weren't as desirable. I actually ordered two coleslaws as I was told they served a sweet coleslaw, but they tasted like globs of mayonnaise to me when I tried to eat it. I actually sent one of them back and asked for something else. I did get the corn on the cob and it was OK, it was very average. It was definitely edible. They brought me the mashed potatoes which I didn't want, but they had a decent flavor. There was a large portion of it and that side was good sized too. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer and with ketchup, we really liked those the best. We would give those a four 4. We were not too keen on the because it had a garlic seasoning on it (or tasted like it) and we just weren't expecting that with BBQ. But had it been a regular warm bread, it would have been wonderful. My husband had ribs, pulled pork, and smoked sausage and he would give it a two 2. He said it seemed to be overcooked and somewhat mushy with a bit of an odd flavor. His macaroni and cheese was his favorite side and he enjoyed it. Our waitress was nice and accommodating. Overall, we would give our experience there a two 2 and we don't think we'd ever choose to go there again.

Visiting from Nevada. Arrived at 8pm on a Friday night. The place wasn't busy, so there was no wait. The host was super nice and greeted us with a smile. The restaurant is inside of a barn. Decore: fireplace, deer mounts, boots, and bears. Plenty of seating: tables and booths. We ordered the Trash can to share, along with jalapeño poppers, burnt ends, and a baked potato. We spent a little over $155 plus tip. The trash can gives you an options of several different meats and sides. The food was decent. The fries were a little cold. The brisket lacked flavor and chicken was dry. From eating at different barbecue restaurants this week we came to the conclusion that, this place isn't the best place to get barbecue, but it is open until 10pm.

Side Salad - extra special because of chopped tomatoes, green onions & tortilla strips! I recommend Italian dressing

Had great service tonight from John. As usual the food comes out at perfect temperature and full of flavor and very good sized portions. I always get the 3 meat plate with a salad for the side so I can eat the salad there as well as a little bit of the meat, but most of the meat goes home with me and will be leftovers for 1-2 meals. They are also always happy to provide you with more bread to go as well.

It's been a long time since we've come here, only because I'm not a huge BBQ fan (I know! It's a sin to live in TX and not love BBQ) - I don't hate it, it's because my husband makes a lot of it at home and it's hard to find good places once you start making it yourself. The service here was really great and the place still looks the same; could use a little refreshing up, but overall in better condition than expected; the bathroom could be tended to a little better. Tonight we ordered the Trashcan sampler that came with a little bit of everything and 4 shareable sides. It was right around $100 and it was plenty of food. I loved the smoked chicken, ribs were good but everyone liked the brisket and sausages, particularly the black pepper sausage. Sides were good also, but the Texas Spicy beans were not it today, they were just plain to me and savory rice was good but had been better in the past but over all it's not bad BBQ for the price.

Food was not great. Overcooked meat seasoning in excess. Sides were good. Service took longer than expected.

Nonetheless, I truly do feel that Rodeo Goat does it differently. Came here after work with some friends. There's quite an assortment of creative options. I opted for the Hot Bastard. To make it even more interesting, I got it with the Impossible Patty (per recommendation). Now, upon first bite, there's not an immediate heat. However, it slowly creeps up. It creeps up to the point where you do find yourself looking for a glass of water or just anything to help settle the heat. That's what I loved the most about this burger. Maybe it was the fresno peppers. Maybe it was the habanero cheddar. Whatever it was, I loved it. Now, in terms of the patty, I thought it was great quality. I haven't tried their beef patties to use as a comparison but I still enjoyed the burger very much with the impossible patty. Only qualm about it was that the patty did give way about halfway through. Though, I find that's on par with a good messy burger. Overall, would come again, especially with the immense variety. The next time, I will definitely look to try the Radio Goat - every purchase supports KERA, the local NPR station!

It's a seat-yourself restaurant, and the service was friendly throughout our visit. There are lots of burger options to choose from, so there's something for just about everyone. One suggestion would be to add a dedicated toppings section to the menu. When building your own burger, it's difficult to know all of the available topping choices. The only downside to our visit was that there was a very large dog dining inside the restaurant. The staff allowed the dog's water bowl to be placed on the table, and while the dog remained on a leash, several employees stopped to pet it before returning to refill drinks, deliver food, or check on guests. That wasn't something I was comfortable with and took away from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

Apparently they are a former food truck that now runs the kitchen inside of Crystal Springs Hideaway. I ended up sitting at the bar with the Lindas (there were three of them). It was early in the day so I did not join them for a drink, I was just getting out to try something new and support the North Texas Food Bank. The special for burger week was the Zaddy which came with pickled red onion, lettuce, goat cheese, fresh jalapenos and raspberry jam on a potato bun. Their burgers are 1/4 and unfortunately the meat got completely lost under so much going on. Goat cheese and raspberry are powerful flavors and the jalapeno slices were thicker than the patty. I didn't even taste the pickled red onions. The very last bite was more meat than topping and I could actually taste the beef. It is a shame because it was really good. The quality of the meat and the sear on the burger were well done. Their regular priced burgers range from $10.50 to $14, and sides are extra. It is pretty steep for a 1/4 lb burger, and I would suggest something with a bit less flair.
