The BEST place to get a great craft brew and able to chow down on amazing food. It was a great addition to Brooklyn I believe and hope it sticks around and becomes more of the towns history. Havnt been there in a long time but I know it always has tons of customers.

Chef's Kiss!

Great green tea shots! 3 time in 3 days made by 3 different bartenders; all slapped. Reuben is fantastic! Above average local (Michigan) brews on draft. thanks for the vibes, Shadys!

Full house with 1 awesome employee handling it all alone!

I grew up in Brooklyn, and Shady's Tap Room doesn't feel like it belongs in Brooklyn, yet it does at the same time. My family and I went for dinner one night. The interior is a mix of exposed brick, painted pipes and new wood panels and tables. I was impressed by the atmosphere. It was casual but oddly upscale for Brooklyn. The tables don't have the best chairs, but they are comfortable enough. I thought the layout was strange and there were too many hi-top tables. Despite this preferences, I loved the interior. I liked the large wood bar with the wooden liquor rack behind it. The menu is not huge. It's mostly sandwiches, salads and pizza. We ordered two pizzas, the Shady's Signature and a regular pizza. I thought both were excellent. The Signature was very unique with chicken and a blend of cheeses and spice. I loved both pizzas. My parents didn't care for the Signature but really liked the regular pizza. My sister had the deep dish pizza at another time and said it was so filling she could only eat one piece. The real stars of Shady's are the taps. I believe they have 12 and they're adding more. They only serve local Michigan beers and it was a delight to see such a large sample of Michigan beer since Michigan is becoming such a craft beer location. I can't remember all of them but there was variety from several different brewers and types of beer. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and fast. Overall, I thought this was a great place and I hope it succeeds. Brooklyn isn't a big place, but it was busy when I was there. If you're in the area and looking for good pizza and beer check it out.

Mac and cheese sandwich.

Maybe it was because I ordered takeout but Mac and cheese sandwiches were so so so salty and soggy. The buffalo dip comes with stale bread and a ton of grease. Not happy for $50

Salmon portion smaller than my thumb.

Rude bartender, staff is pretty friendly, food takes forever to make it to the table and no fryer.

Great craft beer and friendly service, a little bit pricey and the food takes a long time to make, but it's a fun place

I'm especially fond of the build-your-own pizzas and the hot boozy beverages, such as the Spanish coffee and Irish coffee. They do 'em right. Overall - from the service to the food and ambiance - The Beach Bar is a place I highly recommend and look forward to dining at again and again.

I will NEVER pass up the opportunity to have nachos on a patio on a sunny day!…read more Ordered the nachos, added ground beef. Have to admit when they were initially served my reaction was disappointed. They looked pretty plain and the chips "cheap" especially for the price. Boy was I wrong! Ok..well...the chips were pretty cheap quality. You might not even notice though because of the excellent cheese (yeah not the orange gooey stuff!) and generous about of ground beef. The cheese, beef, and jalapeños were SO good! Since I drink NA beer it's a must on aforementioned sunny day with a patio. They have two options. Could have more...but no complaints. Our server was EXCELLENT. I wish I'd gotten her name so I could mention it. I think they said my table number was like 206 or 207? in case aa manager reads this because she deserves a shout out. 9 years of working in restaurants myself I don't say excellent often. She didn't miss a beat without being overly attentive, and was very kind/friendly. Blue and white nails if that helps bc again she deserves a shout out. :) I only went inside to use the restroom but WOW it's beautiful. I believe this place has been opened for almost 50 years so they must have redone it. Its big, beautiful, bright. I'd definitely go back on a winter day and sit inside bc it's bound to lift your spirits. Clean restrooms, ample parking, across from the beach. Well done, beach bar!

Had wanted to try this place for years, but never were passing through Jackson at a time they were…read moreopen. Last Saturday we finally were, so in we went. It's a very inconspicuous location, squeezed in between two truck depots. The building looks--inside and out--like it could be someone's workshop. At least if someone hung cool original art on their workshop's walls and set up a pool table. When we stood in front of the bar looking at the draft menu, a couple sitting nearby offered to scooch down so we could get barstools. Friendly folks=good start. We tried samples of a black IPA and rye IPA. Both were good, but we went with the rye for a pint. Nice and hoppy with just a little sharpness, good body. Had a bit of a drive in front of us, so we got a crowler of the black to go. Interesting beer selection, with two strong Scottish ales and many IPA variants. Plus alcoholic fruit slushees if that's your thing. We're mulling a run to Jackson purposefully to sample more of their offerings.

Great beer choices. IPAs, Vanilla Porters, Hefeweizens and other beer choices were on tap. I had…read morethe porter and the Hefeweizen. Liked both. Also had two seltzer slushes available. They had music bingo that night. I sat at the bar and watched some football and read some. They offer snacks for $1 (peanuts, pretzels, popcorn and more). They encourage you to bring in food which I like since that lets them focus on the beer. Bar tender was ready for me and served well.
