It's sad to see Mulsims do dishonest business. I've door dashed from this place multiple times. Once their Philly cheese steak was amazing. Every time I've ordered it since it has been a mystery meat sandwich. They know what they are doing by giving you 2 strips of beef a bunch of cheese that's not even melted and calling it a Philly cheese steak. It is deception. Very sad. I saw on a previous post someone said something similar and the owner replied saying they will fix the issue. Well that comment was about 6 years ago. The same issue persists. I most definetly will never order here again, and for others I recommend trying another place. As a Muslim it is hard enough to find food that we can eat, but if "Halal" restaraunts are going to deceive as well then hope is lost. read more

They staff were very nice and the rice and salad were good but the Kofta kabobs were so dried out and hard to chew. This is the second time I've gone to that location and the kabobs were dry. I'm sure it must be hard to keep certain things fresh if you cook them earlier in the day and they are sitting under a warmer. That's what I'm guessing happened here because this Shah's is inside of a gas station convenience store. So maybe it would help if they just wait to heat the kabobs until they are ordered. I prefer the Massapequa location for the fresh kabobs. read more

This place is located on 109 S. just before the exit ramp to go onto sunrise highway westbound . If you drive too fast, you may miss it. Even though this place is located inside of a gas station area within a convenience store, the food operation is excellent. They have excellent lamb over rice or chicken over rice and many other menu options. Exceptionally great food. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Ordered the kebabs over rice. The kebabs were so dry and overcooked I could've used them as a baseball bat. No way to bite through them, completely inedible and had to throw out. it was in a puddle of white sauce to cover up the crime. The chicken gyro was unimpressive. This is my second and last time. Shah - you're amazing. This is the highest quality halal restaurant in Long Island. I tried the falafel over rice platter. It's so delicious. The falafel has a crunch, but the inside is soft and delicious. The salad is fresh and makes the whole dish. The customer service is amazing. Very caring workers. read more

I was first introduced to the Halal Guys in Manhattan which used to be excellent. As the city became too far to consistently drive for chicken and rice, I would frequently go to New Hyde Park or Hicksville for the same taste, but late night cravings left those trips to be extremely tiresome. Thank god for this place because it has great food and it is so close and convenient. I was scared to try it initially because it was located in the gas station but I totally judged the book by its cover here. The gas station doesn't impact the quality of the food whatsoever. The chicken is always fresh. Salad is crisp and never old and white sauce has been excellent since my first encounter. If you like halal food, this is probably one of the best options in the area. I've had Shah's Halal Food at the Hicksville mall, so when I saw the sign up at a gas station, it piqued my interest. Don't let the gas station location fool you. It's very clean and nice on the inside, with a counter to eat and some wooden benches outside. I went with the combo over rice. Overall, the taste was pretty good. The rice was well seasoned and nicely cooked. The chicken was flavored nicely and very tender. So often this chicken can get dry, so I'm glad this location did a good job. The lamb gyro wasn't too greasy. The best part about Shah's is that you can add any toppings to the plate that you want. I added tomatoes, a tomato and cucumber salad, and chickpeas. It adds to the freshness of the meal and makes it seem more balanced. There wasn't enough white sauce and the sauce was a bit lacking in flavor. The red sauce and green sauce is what helped make the dish tasty. The menu is very fairly priced. For $6.99, I got the combo over rice plate with all the added toppings. And, to my surprise, it came with a cold can of soda. They also deliver using UberEats, GrubHub, and DoorDash. The problem with Shah's here was the same as at the Hicksville location. The food is prepared ahead of time and held in hotel pans. The food is served out of the pans like at Chipotle. Because of this, the taste is not anything like a NYC Halal cart or some other Halal locations nearby that cook your food to order. It makes a big difference when the chicken and the lamb gyro are cooked on a flat top. You get much more flavor from the golden brown bits and the slightly burnt bits. Until Shah's starts doing this, there is no way they'd match what the carts provide. The overall taste was around 3.5 stars, but I rounded up since they're new and need some time to get things perfect. Plus I liked being able to add cucumber, tomato, and chickpeas for free. Since this place popped up on Uber Eats I've ordered twice in a short time period and I really like their food. The standard halal platter you may know from other, similar places is well executed, and there are a bunch of harmonious but not typical options you can add, like chickpeas and hummus (both appreciated). There are a bunch of other toppings too. Another thing I really like is that unlike other places on Uber Eats, they give you the sort of choice you get at the counter- you can check off "a lot," "a little," "none," or "normal" for the sauces, for instance -- personally this is a factor that really influences my enjoyment of any given halal plate. You can also separate components, like I like tomato and onion but I don't love lettuce in this format and I dislike green peppers. Instead of having to mess around with the notes and hope someone sees it and knows you want a ton of green chutney. And they have green chutney, which is awesome! So online ordering is great, the food is excellent in its genre, and it's affordable. Also I like that it's so likable AND in a gas station. It's like city cachet we don't get out here on Long Island much. If this is in your five minute no delivery fee box for Uber Eats AND you know you like this sort of food, it's good. (It's always scary to order from somewhere new.) If you've never tried it, it's basically like an expanded form of gyros with some more middle-east components -- hummus, chickpeas, etc. Of all the local halal spots, it has a few more ingredient options which is cool. Great food. Great price. Went here for lunch Monday afternoon. It's located inside a gas station which is weird but it looked shockingly clean and the food was delicious. I got the combo platter over rice with white sauce. Delicious! I was the only customer in there at lunch time which is a shame. I.T I hope they get more exposure because it's really good and it's cheap. My platter was $6.99 and I added a pita for a buck. Gyros are 5.99. Any toppings and sauces are free of charge. Great place. So I initially heard about this place from Yelp and being a fan of Halal and working in the area, I figured I had to stop by and try it. Going to admit, wasn't expecting it to be within a gas station - particularly one that looked as unassuming when I pulled up. I'm not particularly averse to gas station food, but on LI I am skeptical of it. However, knowing the reviews this place had, I decided to trust my Yelp peers. As usual, you all did not lead me astray! I went for a chicken over rice platter and they let you make some choices with some additional toppings. For the additional toppings I went basic with lettuce and cucumbers and of course the white sauce, which was amazing. They also have bottles of the white sauce (which I may need to get because that was amazing!). Everything was all very fresh and the chicken was great (had a tiny tiny kick - the perfect amount for flavoring). If you make it past the super unassuming gas station entrace of it, you will be delighted with some amazing Halal food! read more

This is my quick stop every Friday after my prayer service. Food is good, fresh and great price.

So, I was really in the mood for Halal food one night, but didn't feel like driving more than 5 minutes. I've passed this gas station probably 3090189 times, and after looking at their reviews I was finally inclined to go inside being that I've NEVER got hot food at a gas station before. To my surprise it was clean, smelled delicious and there was a line (@ 10pm at night!) I a sweet lady took my order which was a platter combo of lamb and falafel which is fried fresh when you order. The lamb was flavorful and juicy, the falafel was tender and crispy on the outside. But the real star to me is the sauces! If you go, i suggest getting all three!!! The white sauce is amazing, the hot sauce is my favorite hot sauce I've tried. But the real surprise is the green sauce which i was told is cilantro and vinegar! It really brightens up the dish and if you're not sure get it on the side, it's BOMB! I've been here several times now and the quality is always on point. Don't let the location deter you away, give it a chance you won't regret it! read more

This is a hidden gem. Don't judge it by it being in a gas station. It is the best halel food I've ever gotten. I always get the chicken platter and my husband gets the chicken/gyro platter. The chicken is delicious!!!! Has a slight kick to it. And their yogurt sauce.. omg. The food is so fresh. Rice is perfect. And the prices are very reasonable. $15 for my husband and I for dinner. Not you're typical gas station food option. Very clean and very fresh. I was impressed by how tasty the food was, alot more ingredients in the salad part of the platter than your typical halal platter over rice and lettuce. The lamb and falafel were very good. I love this place. I am here at least 2-3 times a week. My go to is a chicken over rice. It has a small portion of salad on the side with free toppings. For 6.99+tax, I get a full bowl of food and a free can of soda! Its great. Sometimes I even add in a pita bread for a dollar more. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Located at a gas station, it's a little sketchy of a spot but the food is what you expect from shah's. I've been to the one in huntington as well and i feel like Huntington Shah's is better, probably becuase they get more traffic, so the food doesn't lay around for a while.
