We tried the Lamb over Rice and Chicken over Rice platters, both well-seasoned and satisfying. You can customize your platter with fresh sides like cucumbers, tomatoes, black beans, sautéed onions, and of course, a generous drizzle of their signature white and hot sauces. The menu also offers plenty of variety--falafel, masala fries, burgers, and sandwiches--so there's something for everyone. I've always ordered DoorDash from this place. I know it's a franchise and not a local hole in the wall, but can't understand all the hate! The chicken and rice is spicy and slathered in sauce. The fries are hot and well-seasoned. The pakora chips are delish. Prices are extremely reasonable. The sodas are always cold and fresh. No expired BS. They are open late. They have chicken, beef, and lamb platters. Gyros, wings, falafel. They also have sandwiches--chicken, spicy chicken, Philly cheese steak. They have nuggets, pita. Delivery is always fast and it hits the spot when it's late, I'm hungry, and maybe I've been partying a little too hard. read more

I decided to eat here after seeing a growing number of great reviews. The restaurant is very clean and has comfortable booths for dining. Service is quick and efficient, as the food is prepared on a line where you can customize your perfect plate or pita. I chose a combo plate with chicken and lamb, and I loved being able to pick from so many toppings. While my plate might not look very appetizing in pictures, not a single grain of rice was left--it was absolutely delicious! Not pictured are the green sauce and hot sauce I asked for on the side, which were fantastic additions. I will happily eat here again in the future! read more

I ordered delivery from here. The food arrived piping hot. I loved the fries, which were a generous portion size, thick, and very well seasoned. They were a mix of soft and crispy. I wasn't a huge fan of their falafel. It was dry and grainy. However, the rice and veggies were well-prepared and flavorful so it made up for it. The red, green, and white sauces were very tasty and I liked that you could customize how much of each they added. My mom enjoyed the lamb and the grilled onions. Shah's has been on my radar for a while, ever since I saw the signage for it go up a few months back. Halal food has been a staple in NYC for a while now, with The Halal Guys arguably being the catalyst for that. Its presence has slowly made its way up to Westchester - a Halal Guys opened in White Plains a few years ago and up in Cortlandt I recently tried another Halal spot. Anyway, I was in the area looking for lunch and thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out Shah's. Shah's is located on the Mamaroneck Ave strip, taking over what was Blockheads. The space is large, mostly owing to the fact that Blockheads was a sit down restaurant and Shah's is more of a fast-casual spot with a few tables and booths. The place looks great - clean and nicely decorated with a red color scheme. The menu is similar to other Halal and Mediterranean spots I've been to. You can choose from a platter, pita, or salad and then add your protein, toppings, and sauces. I decided to get a platter which used basmati rice as a base; I added chicken, as well as black beans, onion, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and hummus. I also decided to grab some baklava just to round out the meal. My meal was good - they didn't skimp on the portions, and the chicken was seasoned well which really contributed to all the flavors present. I decided to just top my meal with white sauce, which was really good - though next time I would probably add hot sauce as well to balance the cool and hot flavors. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a great first experience at Shah's. It's great to see a new eatery open on the strip - I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. read more

This place is great. I started coming here when they first opened. Their dishes are made to order and their food is always fresh. I ordered a vegan platter with a lot of vegetables. It was very flavorful. I'll definitely be back to try more of their options but I loved this dish. There is seating inside, but the few times I've been here I've noticed a lot of people get take out. I'm glad this place is in the area as they offer a variety of options you can't find at other nearby spots. read more

Cam in here because I've been craving it since I went last week with my friend. The cashier/ staff member that was working today was beyond pleasant. The portions are amazing. The price is very reasonable. The store was a little busy and you could hear the machines dinging for to orders coming in but the staff was easily able to accommodate the customers in the store and the to go orders. Decent halal food for the area, nothing to write home about. White and green sauce were lackluster, red had more vinegar in it. The portion was uneven among the salad. The beans and other sides have no flavor. I had called in an hour ahead, and the guy said he would have it ready. We're in the store, and they said no order was placed. Been wanting to try our Shahs since seeing the coming soon sign on the store front. I've tried out the halal guys and Shahs by far is MILES better. Ordered for delivery and missed out on some toppings since Uber eats wasn't set up to include those BUT that's ok. Chicken and lamb were moist and tasty. Fries were better than most and jumbo. The real star is the green Chile chutney!!!! It's not too spicy and just the right amount. Will be getting this again. The con -- it didn't hold together so grab a fork. Overall a great, messy sandwich. The hummus was pretty standard, but the counterman took the trouble to grill the fresh pita. Went here for their grand opening. They gave out free platters for 2 hours. Waited on line for about 20 minutes and it was soooooo worth the wait! I think this is great fast food, Halal style. It's clearly fast food, but it's good. It's a nice change up from the typical fair in the area. My go-to has been the chicken and lamb platter with extra white sauce and brown rice. Always tasty, and always a nice portion. When I was in this restaurant, the co-owner or manager on duty was arguing with an employee who walked out, saying, my brother said he was going to fire you last week. Terrible service. We shouldn't have to hear that. As for the food I had two items first the Gyro was very messy, delicious but messy I don't like my food messy. I also had chicken bites and french fries were nothing special and the chicken bites were OK. Forget the Halal Guys. Their brick and mortar locations don't have anything on Shah's. Chicken and lamb combo was very flavorful, with delicious onions, veggies, chickpeas over rice (you choose what you'd like on it, so if you're not of a priest you can leave out the chickpeas). Their green sauce is very tasty and their hot sauce very hot, white sauce was also delicious. I also tried their fries, which were definitely made to order and very good. I only wish they would have put some more meat in my platter (husband had the same thought). But I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place for a true halal food fix. read more
