Sorry I have to write this review. I witnessed a person who was later determined to be the owner of the Shake Foundation bring a lady to tears for parking in his lot and not ordering at his restaurant. She was frantically trying to let her friend know that she was going to be late at Vinaigrette for lunch. She couldn't reach her friend by phone, so she was trying to run across the lot to tell her friend, but he was completely rude and with over 6' foot stature intimidating the lady to tears. It was so bad I had restrained my 6' 2" 240lbs co-worker not to get out and put you down with one punch. Mister owner you are very lucky and stupid not to paper every car that parks in your lot with an offer from your restaurant. Can you not see the opportunity based on parking circumstances and the fact that your lot is never more than 1/3 full? Instead, this true witness account is being repeated too many by many. I will never eat at your place again! You have an issue with being nice to women. I see that many others are also noting your Ill behavior and just plain meanness around your never full parking lot. I'd probably leave 3 1/2 stars but if I had to round I'd round to 4. I read a lot of the bad reviews and frankly none of them are warranted. The food was delicious and the shake was incredible. It was no more pricey than something you'd get for local food back home. The service was a little questionable, 3 separate people had to have orders fixed while we were there, but the staff fixed all the mistakes quickly and apologetically. I watched as the attendant wiped his nose with his bare hand as he read the next ticket (mine), then grabbed the cup for my ice cream with the same hand he had just rubbed his nose with, his fingers wrapped around the top of the cup with his thumb actually inside the cup! This place is really great if you want a quick and very tasty lunch or dinner. The service is quick, and the burgers and fries are very tasty. The shakes are very good as well, however they are very thick and hard to sip through a straw. I had to eat mine with a spoon. Also, they definitely don't close at seven. I was excited to try this place out, mostly for the shakes, after reading about it in the SFR. However, I was extremely disappointed. After reviewing the menu, everyone decided to try one of their specialty shakes. The cashier mentioned those shakes weren't available. Why not post a sign in advance so as to not disappoint customers and mislead them. We ordered two chocolate shakes and a strawberry shake. After seemingly a long wait for a milkshake, we were further disappointed. The milkshakes were not at all thick. It tasted like chocolate and strawberry milk, respectively. For the price ($6) per shake, it was definitely not worth it. Not to mention, the staff were not friendly. I do not see how this place will last with the current prices and quality. As have many in these reviews, I would like to comment on the size (tiny), prices (huge), service (typical N. New Mexico snotty to disinterested). I tried it twice and would never go back. For a green chile cheeseburger, Blakes is far, far superor in size, taste and price, as are MANY other Santa Fe restaurants and I can afford to eat anywhere in Santa Fe and I eat out constantly and have for 40 years here. Both days I ate there I had to go back and order seconds and thirds to quell my hunger and I am only 5 foot ten, 160 pounds, So, both times, it ended up being about a $25.000 lunch. This is a cute little place with pretty good food. The burgers are good. but the pickles are horrible and have a weird flavor which altered the taste of my otherwise good burger. The fries are not bad.. I would prefer a thicker fry myself, but these are fine. I love this place. I was a diehard Bobcat Bite (now called Santa Fe Bite) fan, but I have a new love now, and it is called Shake Foundation. I have gotten the double pattied green chile cheeseburger twice now, and can hardly wait to go back again. I find the meat perfectly seasoned (not too salty), the fries are like match sticks, and the caesar salad is delicious and entertainingly presented. And of course, the milk shakes are an added bonus. Parking lot to vinaigrette was blocked off because of construction work - female employee came out to parking lot and told me I couldn't park there - reasonable .. told her I was going to ask vinaigrette where I should park, started to walk towards restaurant- she started to become aggressive and told me she was calling towing company - I walked to her and asked her what she wanted me to do and she told me that was not her job - also reasonable, told her I just wanted to ask them what I should do and she started to shout she was calling the police ?? The best green chile cheeseburger to date! A must stop every time I visit Santa Fe, which is quite often. The meat on burger is delicious and cooked to perfection, the cheese is gooey melty goodness! Don't forget to order the ginger lemonade, as it is very refreshing and tangy. The service is always delivered with a smile and the staff is fantastic. Whether it's 17 degrees or 95 degrees out (like today), it's a great place to eat outside and enjoy the stillness and feel of Santa Fe. Try their Taos ice cream as well.
