Moved to Tampa in 2016 from NJ and I'll have to admit, I miss all the trendy cool places the tri-state had to offer. On our trip back from our honeymoon in Thailand, we spotted a Shake Shack sign located at the opposite end of our terminal. All my husband and I had to do was look at each other and layover time just got that much more exciting. They have shake shack locations in Florida but it's about an hour and a half drive from us each way. We were super surprised and satisfied to get our fix on our way home. It was 10 in the morning which to normal standards would be a little too early for a burger and fries, but after a 16 hour flight, your body doesn't even know what time it is. The line to order wasn't bad... I'd say about 5 people were ahead of us waiting for food. The people manning the stand were sweet and courteous amongst all the crazy orders that were going on in the background. We didn't wait long, It took about 10 minutes to get our order: one shackstack, one shroom burger, and of course crinkle fries, and a coke. Price was comparable to what we paid in Madison Square Park in NYC so we weren't complaining. There is no restaurant seating designated for Shake Shack so it's a little awkward. We ended up finding an empty gate and spreading out there. Our first American burger in 12 days... Did not disappoint! The fries were as crispy and burgers just as juicy as we remembered. read more

This location was pathetic. I'm a first time visitor and have heard a lot about this place and was so excited for it. Unfortunately the staff made it completely underwhelming. They only had 1 person working a 20 person long line and didn't put shakesauce on 2 of the 3 burgers we ordered and when I went to get some for our burgers they gave me a tiny squirt of sauce that was maybe a quarters worth in size for 2 burgers. The only reason they aren't getting 1 star is the fact the burger was crisp and pretty good but the incompetent staff was the killer. Slightly abbreviated menu due to it being an airport location. For example, they only had vanilla, chocolate, strawberry plus the Black and white shake flavors. No mix-ins, concretes, etc., that I've seen at other regular locations. Super fast to order. Took a while to get food i.e. slower than fast food, but reasonable. This place is excellent. I've been here twice now, and gotten the chicken sandwich both times. The chicken is thick and juicy, the pickles add a bite, and the mayo balances everything out. Not dry, but has an amazing crunch. God could not have made a finer sandwich himself. read more

Underwhelming experience. It was busy and took over 15 minutes to get my burger. There were 15-20 orders of burgers under the heat lamps. Patties were way over cooked and dry, probably due to sitting under a heat lamp for so long. Fries were under seasoned. The staff was courteous, they just seemed overwhelmed today. read more

I ordered a burger and fries. Tried to order a chocolate shake and they said no. Not making shakes. So I ordered root beer in the bottle. A black man walks up behind me and orders a chocolate shake. They drop everything their doing and go make him one. I waited :35 minutes and ended up with fountain drinks. They are very slow and I guess prejudice. read more

The first and most memorable point of my visit, was the customer service. Every employee was courteous and professional. I arrived right at closing time, and they still happily accommodated me and my two other guests. Even several minutes after closing, a father came running up, explaining that he and his daughter just flew in from Europe and have never tried Shake Shack. The manager went out of her way to reopen a register and make sure they got to experience it. It was above and beyond! Secondly, the food was excellent. Our burgers and hot dogs were hot and fresh, and fries were crisp. They also gave plenty of condiments, which is always appreciated! I will definitely be returning to this location! If there is any type of line, even just a couple people, expect to wait 20-30 min to order and then get your food. More so, it was ridiculous since each order was very minimal. Goodness gracious! This is the first airport restaurant where I have found the kindest, warm-hearted and joyful employee! She legitimately brightened my day! And this was after a 16-hr flight during a 4-hr layover. When I mentioned how happy she was, she told me, "Well I figure no one likes being stuck in an airport, so someone needs to be." What a wonderful and selfless outlook. Aside from the surprising service, they took my adjusted order perfectly. I asked for a shake to be extra thick and it came the thickness I like. Open super early and serving breakfast! I ordered a sausage, cheese and egg breakfast sandwich in the morning. You have a choice of one or two eggs and the price does scale with the number of eggs. It was also not cheap at around $5.60 for the one egg option. I didn't have to wait too long for my sandwich and the customer service was pretty great. The staff were super friendly for 6am and when they saw me lingering for napkins gave me an acknowledging nod and handed me a generous handful. I made the trek through the Atlanta airport (the complete opposite side from where my gate is) to stop at Shake Shack. I didn't regret it. The staff was fun, friendly, and helpful and the food did not disappoint. Part of me expected that airport-quality food, but this was the same great quality and taste I'm used to from Shake Shack. This outpost of the venerated burger chain needs a serious overhaul. I can't shake my beef with this shack. Everybody who works here needs a refresher on customer service. I waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to come to the register. Employees were present but talking to each other and not taking or filling orders in a timely manner. Customers were standing four or five deep clogging the terminal as they waited for their orders to be filled. Strangely, the iced tea I ordered came with no ice. There were no napkins in my bag either. If you have less than an hour and a half layover at ATL, you'll need to skip this place. If someone checks the "give a shit" gauge at this Shake Shack they will find someone has removed the batteries. It might be time for corporate to consider pulling this operator's franchise. read more

I really love their burgers, even more so at the airport. ESPECIALLY at the airport. The burgers taste fresh and I love the crispy brown edges. They are moist without being greasy. The buns are soft with a nice flavor. The lettuce was green and crisp. The tomato was also fresh and tasty. I snagged a few crinkle fries from hubby and found them beautifully crisp on the outside with a soft fluffy center. McDonald's has the best fries, but these are close behind. read more

Food poisoning after eating here on the 2nd Dec at night. I ordered a chicken sandwich, fries with cheese, and a ice tea. started feeling stomachache after I got home from the airport. Fell asleep and next morning I wake up at 4am started throwing up and my joints were all sore. Head was feeling heavy and have a light fever. Looked up the symptoms and determined it was of food poisoning. I hope no one else experience the same, so do yourself a favor and don't eat ,there before your flight. I tried the Shack Stack and cheese fries on my layover at ATL. They were fine but nothing was really outstanding. They taste like any burgers or fries that one can get a local burger joint. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by the 'shroom part of the Shack Stack. I did enjoy the cheese-stuffed, deep-fried portobello included! The price was a bit pricey and the taste was fine. I guess they use better ingredients, but their popularity is probably due to the social media hype. I would eat them again if the occasion arises but would not go out of my way to get them, especially in consideration of many good local places available around the area. read more

I ordered without looking at any photos so I didn't know what to expect. I wanted a mushroom burger!! The Shack Stack ($10.99) was a thin patty with a very large breaded fried mushroom cap on top. The mushroom cap was filled with cheese so having more cheese on the burger was a bit much! I had to remove the mushroom cake. The folks who work here are incredibly friendly and awesome! I ran up right before closing and they kept the register open for a few more minutes to let me enjoy a burger and fries after a devastating day of flight delays. So happy this recently opened up in Atlanta since I'm there almost on a weekly basis and am getting sick of the same food options. I've had lots of bad customer service experiences in airports and especially in ATL, however the employees at this Shake Shack have been in a great mood both times I've been so far. They're either really good at faking it or they really are just as excited as I am to have something new to eat. The food is delicious, I always get a Shroom burger which is one of the best I've had, mainly because they fry it. Anything is good fried and that's a fact. Their fries are the crinkly kind which I normally don't like but theirs are so crispy! I have a feeling I don't wanna know what their secret is to make them that way, so I'll just stay happily in the dark on that one.
