They pride themselves on the meat being made with extra love and shit and while the bun is a nice touch, the price per portion isn't justified for me especially when we have other spots that imo do a better job with that market - Little Big Burger, Five Guys and In N Out are just a few of the more known spots. The meat was good but I felt the cheese sauce (while good) tries too hard to compete with the meat. Fries exceeded my expectation and I'm not a fan of crinkle cut but it delivered. My lady said the 'Shroom burger was the best vegetarian burger she's had in awhile but that's not my forte but I'll take her word for it. Overall it was good. I'll try again for a more solid verdict cause we went on opening day and I'm sure they're working their magic out but as of now I wouldn't go out of my way for it esp with other places in the area. Shake shack never disappoints me. Some may say it is pricy. But it gives you more than enough calories, so other burger joint may offer excessive amount of food. Imo, good burgers are differentiated by bun, patty, and freshness of supporting ingredients such as veggies and sauce. First time was GREAT. The chicken burger was so fresh and perfectly cooked. Today was a pretty big disappointment - came with the family and some of it was good and some not so good. The service was terrible. We stayed in line for about 25 minutes. Then we waited over 30 minutes at our table waiting for our food to be served. While waiting, we noticed folks who ordered after us were receiving their food already. After about 45 minutes of waiting, we asked one of the waitresses about our order. We came to find that our order had been sitting in one of the paper bags on their "To go" tables the entire time! The cashier had accidentally set our order as to "To go". By the time we found this out, our shakes were melted and our fries were cold. On the other hand, the burgers we ordered tasted good. But as we opened the bag, the burgers weren't labeled, having to open all of them to see which one was which. I would highly recommend this restaurant write the type of burger on the boxes to alleviate this problem for others who have big orders. I placed an order on May 22 at about 5pm through the app and got a 10:15pm delivery time. At 10:15pm they texted me that my order was being made up, but then I heard nothing until 11:45 when the Uber delivery driver said they were closed and my order was canceled. She had 3 "complimentary" apology coupons for me but Uber wasn't going to pay her to deliver them. I had to pay $7 for "free" coupons! (!!!) This is NO WAY to run a business! I have been a customer of Shake Shack in both NYC & Los Angeles locations and have been hoping for a SS store in Portland for years . When I learned it is finally opening a location 7 minutes from where I live, my wife and I were both excited. Our first visit and experience at the Cedar Hills location was near perfect (I ordered online the first Saturday evening opening). When I say near perfect, the food , both hamburger and shakes, were on point except for the fries. The hamburgers were executed perfectly, its seasoning and assembly was consistent with all the other SS locations. The shakes were creamy delicious, rich and not lacking its respective flavor combination. The only item from our order that could use some help was the fries and cheese fries. The fries were cold, hard and not seasoned. The cheese was a bit coagulated, definitely not with flowing, liquid consistency. Could not even dip out fries in it. But we forgave this as both the hamburger and shakes were delicious, on point and satisfying .. definitely great customer service delivery for an opening weekend! However, there is definitely a turn on our second experience. This time My wife placed the order online for a Saturday lunch pickup. We ordered two hamburgers and two shakes, but no fries. We got home, placed our shakes in the freezer and excited to have our burger, we started to eat the burgers while the shake freeze just a little . The first Shake Shack I visited was in London 6 years ago, and it was so good, I went back 2 days later. Fast Forward, my London Experience is much different than the Beaverton Oregon location. From the kiosk ordering to limited seating, to tables not clean between patrons, the experience wasn't great. As to the food, the burger was good. Bacon cheeseburger with a smashed patty. Had the opportunity to try the new hot spot. It overall was great! They handled the immense crowd well, the gal at the door greeting and directing traffic was just perfect and so kind. The food is good. I am excited to try it once the crowd is down a little bit as I believe this affected the experience.
