"Hey so what's a custard?" I always forget what the diff is between ice cream and custard. The nice employee who was ordering my order thru the IPad says "a custard is made from egg yolks." Sold! Now on to the burger. I got the Shack Double Burger and it's the closest thing to a smash burger from a chain restaurant. It's not juicy tho. I like my burger patty well done but I feel like it was too well done. Look I'm in the minority, I don't love cheese on my burger. We ordered fries with our burgers and chicken sandwiches but meant to get cheese fries (our mistake) and our server Alex (I believe that was his name) brought out cheese dip for us. He saw that we had kids and even let them sample some vanilla custard! It tasted so good and creamy. We will for sure get it next time. The chicken sandwich and fries were nice and crispy too. I recommend getting the sandwich with the bacon jam and adding the fried shallots! As for the lemonade, it was good but maybe a little too much ice in the cup lol Also random pro tip: dip your fries in the vanilla custard! I've been doing this since I was a kid. Food: This location is just as good as any other location I've been to! Appreciate that they're willing to make substitutions (I usually get swiss instead of american cheese). The burger was a bit too oily for my liking and my hands had a lot of oil after I was finished eating it. Was visiting The Americana at Brand and was getting hungry, so I checked what was around the area and saw Shake Shack. Well, don't mind if i do! As is my usual these days at Shake Shack, I got a double Shackburger with lettuce wrap. Shake Shack notably puts more salt on its patties than any other burger place, and also has thicker patties than you would expect. Anything more than a double can be excessive. Make sure you get extra Shack sauce on the side! Service was fine here, no complaints. You grab a number and they'll bring your food to your table. Fairly straightforward. Also want to note that this is larger than most of the Shake Shacks I've been to in SoCal, which admittedly is not too many. But nice to see the high amount of space along with the high ceilings. It's a pretty common thing to hear Shake Shake be compared to In n Out. Based on my Californian tastebuds, it's not too bad. Definitely a bit pricer than In n Out but they have a bigger menu when it comes to drinks, burgers, and sides. If I had the money and the patience to drive through Glendale I can see myself eating here again. Also, Shake Shack's fries are better lol. It was my first time trying Shake Shack out with a friend and the service was really good when we came. The staff member who was taking orders at the door recommended me to try their blueberry lychee flavored 50/50 (tea + lemonade) and I was surprised at how refreshing it is! COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. The staff also wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has no outdoor seating available with limited capacity at the moment. They are not sanitizing in between customers. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment last week, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: I parked on the street. Easy street parking. Plenty of street parking available during COVID-19. Food: I got the korean style fried chicken sandwich, and I was very disappointed. Tasted nothing like the authentic Korean style chicken sandwich. That's why I took off one star. Staff: I decided to take off another star because I ordered my food at noon. And I ended up waiting 35 minutes for my sandwich. And I'm happy to see that. The first one to do that is the lesser- known Poquito Mas. They are the ones who I first saw put up the plexiglass/acrylic barrier between staff and patrons. Then there are CVS, Pollo Loco, KFC and even little businesses like C& M Cafe and Lonzo's Peruvian, the latter two in the Westside . . . to name a few. So I'm disheartened to notice that big-time Shake Shack has not done the same thing for its employees. Their employees only wear masks. Check my pic. I finally had a chance to try out Shake Shack and it was a wonderful 1st Shake Shack experience! We walked over here for lunch after visiting the Lunar New Year celebration across the way at The Americana. The hubby ordered the Shack Stack with bacon and I opted for the same as I could not decide on what to get. After all, bacon on anything is a win, right? Baby girl had the ShackBurger and a Cookies & Cream shake with whipped cream (which was yummy). The gentleman who took our order was super pleasant and made great recommendations. The line also moved rather quickly. We helped ourselves to the complimentary water station around the corner and found seating in the outdoor patio. The buzzer went off in about 10 mins when the food was ready for pick up. Oooh my!! The ShackBurger was perfection. It was hot and each bite was packed with flavor from the perfectly cooked angus beef patty, freshness from all the ingredients, sweetness from the potato bun, crispiness from the bacon and that cheese oozing out from the crisp-fried portobello mushroom...umm hello! I stopped by here on Saturday afternoon in hopes of trying their new Veggie burger I kept reading about on social media. The irony is that when I went to order, the cashier told me their veggie patties have not defrosted yet...um what? Don't you know what time your store opens and how long it takes to defrost? Very strange.... Since I was in a vegetarian mode, I ended up getting the 'Shroom Burger- which for the size you get is not worth the price. Was it tasty? Yes because it's deep fried and has cheese oozing out of it, it's not that healthy lol. But it fit into the palm of my hand and I have small hands...It ended up being about $9 with tax. Located on the corner of Brand and Wilson in Glendale. Parking is so hard to find! I had to drop off my family so that they could order and get the food to go. They were hoping to find black truffle burgers like they did in Virginia Beach, unfortunately they didn't have them offered at this place. They ordered the ShackBurgers and fries. My family loves their burgers because it was so delicious and juicy to eat. The fries were crispy. There was an employee standing with a tablet taking orders if you paid with a credit card. It's not often that a really bad customer service experience results in a 5 star review, but that's what happened to me. Hubby & I went to the Glendale Shake Shack by the Americana Mall last night because we were craving cheeseburgers. We went inside and ordered our favorite SmokeShack burgers and an order of fries. They handed us our pager and we headed for a table. Within minutes the buzzer went off and hubby went to pick up our order. He stood waiting for the order and watched as several customers picked up their food, but ours never came out. He asked the employee about it and (without even checking which order) the guy said it would be out shortly. After standing their 10 minutes watching Los of people pick up their food, he finally told the guy at the counter that he was tired of waiting and to just bring the food to our table if it ever came up. He returned to the table in a foul mood and a couple minutes later the buzzer went off again. He went back to the counter and returned with our food. As we began to chomp into our burgers a woman came up to our table and began apologizing for the delay and for the employee's indifference. She said her name was Lindsay and she was one of the store managers. She explained that while it didn't make up for the wait or the poor service, she was able to use it for a teaching moment as she pulled the crew together to explain how they should have handled the situation. She thanked us for being understanding and gave us coupons for complimentary burgers & fries on our next visit. She made no excuses for the service, but was sincerely apologetic and made it right. She's obviously a very good manager and leader, who didn't berate the employees but used the situation to teach them about customer service. Outstanding job, Lindsey! I don't know if it is because the boss gave them a lesson on customer service or not, but the employees who were working the dining area floor were also exceptional. They were super-friendly, refilled our water, checked to see how our food was, asked if we needed anything else and cleared our table when we were done. You should pick up from here only if you hate yourself. They seriously should remove that option from their location, especially since they don't even have a pickup window and you are forced to go inside. It's located on the busiest intersection and they have no dedicated parking lot or pickup parking. Finding parking is a competitive sport and you will pay (literally) or have a nice walk. Sadly, there are no winners or medals. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to circle because that will happen regardless. The staff do you no favors. They don't bother to text you when it's ready and they will place your food in a wide open bag sitting on a "pickup" shelf with no signage. In case you're wondering, yes, I did tip. I thought it was strange that the shelf was not monitored so anyone could walk up and grab a bag. I found it annoying that I would be dining on cold food. read more

Hands down Shake Shack over In-N-Out. As a Californian, In-N-Out will always be one of my top 3 burger joints, but you have to admit Shake Shack burgers are amazing. The restaurant is fairly spacious, plenty of seating both inside and outside and the service is great. For a burger joint, Shake Shack is quite expensive but they make it up by serving very fresh ingredients. Ordered the Shack Stack for my family as well as the original Shack burger for my two year old nephew with a side of fries and our food was ready fairly quickly. If you like mushrooms, definitely get the Shack Stack. The buns they use are pillowy soft, and the cheese stuffed portobello mushroom is crispy and gooey. My nephew normally does not really like hamburgers that much, but he ended up finishing most of his burger as well as the fries. The fries here are so crispy and evenly salted. Make sure to order one of their milkshakes to dip the fries. Definitely would come more often if I lived nearby or if there was a Shake Shack where I lived.
