This place is so good! They have decently priced food with great quality control. They offer a super simple menu where the items always taste fresh. I used to get the beef rice bowl with brown rice, but ever since I've been eating healthier I opt in for the veggie bowl with chicken. I admit they both taste great although I'll always love beef more. There's always plenty of seating inside and outside as well. It's located across the street from the community college so you can access the restaurant with convenience. The service is always good, it's never too friendly but they're never mean or rude or anything like that. I can't complain. It may come across as unwelcoming at times, especially when you call to order. The inside is a little dated but I don't think that really matters much as long as I'm getting good food for a reasonable price. Oh, and if you want your order quick; you should probably place the order in person regardless of how long it'll take you to get there. I don't think they make the phone orders until you're there anyways, because they always take longer. Anyways, stop by here, it's good! I just wish they would add a reward system or something like that. I know it's a franchised spot, but maybe they'll consider that one day. It would incentivize me to eat here more often. read more

The food and the service of flame broiler was very good I was greeted by a welcoming server and they had my food out very fast. I stepped outside and was met with my car getting towed, Not a single person working at the plaza was helpful from the security guards all the way to the owner of the plaza I wanted to come and enjoy my food but instead I was met with a penalty for wanting to eat my food which none of it makes sense it all just felt like a quick money grab from the owner. Mark this review down as the 2nd in a pending series (North Shore is the first) of a number of reviews of businesses that i have passed by by car, on foot, skate boarded by for years without darkening their doors and sampling their wares. Flame Broiler is on the same Island (peninsula?) that also houses a relatively new Starbucks: both across from Glendale college. Today I made a decision to check this joint out and to sample their wares. There are several Flame Broilers around town. This one today was practically empty though the early hour was probably one reason and that it is a college holiday is another. The Physical plant has seating for about 50 people but there is a plaza with tables right outside their door which is shared with other businesses. The Menu is pretty simple and you are offered several choices on what the chicken, Beef or Tofu sits. Meaning: you could order grilled firm Tofu (as i did) and decide if you wanted a veg or white or brown rice or even a combo of both. The Tofu that i ordered as the feature of the bowl (there are 2 sizes of bowl plus an big entree size) i wanted no rice and 100% veg which were well cooked and fresh coin carrots, Broccoli chunks and sliced cabbage. You are offered several sauces: teriyaki, hot sauce which tasted like cholula. The size of the portion is big and the Tofu is well seasoned and broiled. One point is i would have liked to have seen the actual Flame Broiler but everything cooking-wise was behind a wall. The also feature Wings in various order permutations as in a single order or for several people. Pricing is high as is everything these days. My bowl is $9.40. My regular soft drink is $2.80. I have gotten Flame Broiler several times, and from several different locations. The first thing that stood out to me is how consistent the restaurants are across the board. This is a good thing! The food is consistently good. Teriyaki chicken bowls are a gift to my mouth as far as I'm concerned. I really enjoy them, and I love that they can even be healthy. I appreciate that you have your choice of white or brown rice here (that is not the case at every teriyaki chicken restaurant). The ingredients also seem to always look and taste fresh, which is critical for both chicken and veggies. The only demerit as far as I'm concerned is that they're a bit skimpy on the sauce, and that the teriyaki sauce is a little watery for my preference. Otherwise definite thumbs up here! read more

The staff is always polite, punctual , and has never mixed up any of my orders before (I come to this location 2-4x/week) Their chicken and beef bowls are always consistent, and usually served within 10-12 minutes of ordering. They have plenty of sauces, add on options, and alternatives as well. (I've had several close down on me within the last 5 years, and the pandemic ain't helping) I'm glad that this establishment is still operating, and the service guy is very courteous and nice. I've been to many Flame Broiler locations, and this one is by far the best. At other locations, the tofu just isn't as good! It tastes... undercooked? And I know that it isn't going to be super crispy because it's flame broiled, but it tastes almost barely warmed at other locations. HOWEVER. This location cooks the tofu to perfection. The veggies are always cooked perfect, too. All of the staff is incredibly nice! I don't mind waiting for tofu (usually 10 minutes) but you can call ahead and order, and it's ready by the time I get there every time! I've not had any meat products, but friends who visit that eat here really like their chicken and beef as well. I definitely recommend this location over any other in the Valley. Love flame broiler. Throughout my time at GCC, I probably ate at flame broiler 3 times a week. I really enjoyed the nice lady that worked there with her daughter coming some days. I would always order a large chicken plate with brown rice, veggies and an orange. The orange was always super fresh and the perfect cold temperature. I would also add avocados on top of my plate with a side of kimchi. You definitely get more than what you pay for and the sauces they have on the side are so addicting. I usually go with a handful of the orange looking hot sauce they have (it's buffalo sauce) and as well a couple of the spicy green sauces. Blink and you might be driving in circles to find it or maybe that's just me. It took me a minute to figure which parking lot to go into, but not incredibly difficult to find. It's a little tucked away in a mini plaza with a couple of other restaurants that are trying to hang on. Flame Broiler is always a great option for something tasty, yet still healthy. It's been my staple whenever I'm in training mode because it's an easy way to get fast healthy food that still tastes good. I'm not a fan of magic sauce, but I do love their green hot sauce and their regular hot sauce. My bowls are almost always drenched in them. The people here were friendly and helpful. I really miss the old location on brand blvd because it was across from my office but this one is just as good, food wise. They specialize in broiled meat (beef or chicken) over nicely cooked rice and steamed veggies. It feels very healthy but is also super tasty- especially with some of their patented "magic sauce." It's a more savory, less sweet version of teriyaki. Parking at this location can be hard because it's right across from the college and the lot is small but I've always found a spot when I go after common school hours. read more

Lots of good food that ACTUALLY fills you up, and at a pretty cheap price too. :) I like to enjoy it the the random times I go to Glendale Community College which is right across the street. As well as take it to Verdugo Park, (right across the street as well lol) I think anyone who's a bowl lover or a lover of food in bowls would like it haha. The service is great too. How have I not been here before?! It's the perfect little restaurant for quick take out! It's right across from the Glendale college campus --so it does get packed. However, I am willing to wait in line because it goes by fast anyways. There are seats indoors, but the tables outside the building is more spacious. The half and half plate (comes with angus steak and chicken) is perfect! I got the mini size and it was enough for a quick lunch! They also do offer brown rice and veggies as an alternative for steamed rice. I really am surprised I haven't been before. Definitely gonna be one of my fave spots to eat! I was a bit hesitant because the food looked like Yoshinoya (and I hate that place), but how wrong I was. Food is so much better here. The flame broiling of the meats makes a huge difference! Plus they don't drown their food in that disgusting sweet sauce (although they have some available if you need your food to taste like candy). Food was fresh and healthy. Plus you can get brown rice instead of white rice. Oh, best of all, they have Siracha ("rooster sauce") to help kick it up a notch. Great place for a quick lunch when I have a break between classes and need food! Came here for the first time today around 11:15 and it wasn't too busy. You can either get chicken, beef, or organic tofu as a protein, and either a mini size, regular, or plate (largest size). I got the mini tofu bowl with brown rice and veggies. Food came out quick and the girl at the cash register was very friendly. Overall I was more thank satisfied and a comfortable level of full. The tofu was flavored and cooked well. It had a nice char to it which gave it some complexity. A little bit of magic and hot sauce and you're good! My only complaint would be that I would have been happier with some more veggies, but they seem open to accommodations so I'll make sure to ask next time. Solely my opinion, and my opinion only, but I really didn't enjoy the food here. Parking is horrible here. They have far too many places to eat in this small area and just a tiny parking lot. Luckily I found a meter to park at on the street by Wrap Express, it was barely a walk to this place from there. Small restaurant, little seating area. I got a vegetable bowl for my husband and a chicken and veggie bowl for myself. Loaded up on teriyaki and Siracha. My husband commented that the veggies weren't cooked much, naturally he had to add some soy sauce to it, but he isn't exactly a health buff. I, on the other hand, did not enjoy mine either. The chicken tasted rubbery. I made do with the veggies, which I liked more than the chicken. I had to douse my food in the teriyaki just to make it edible. Note to the cashier: please refer to the green onions as green onions and not just onions. I didn't have a lot of time to look at the menu and I kinda already knew what I wanted to get anyway, so the menu wasn't something I was looking at at that time. The cashier asked me if I wanted onions, so I pictured yummy sauteed onion. What I didn't picture was a shit ton of green onion piled up in my bowl. Long wait for your food too at those busy times also. It took me 20 minutes to get my food, not that bad, but when there's nowhere to sit, it sorta gets annoying and you can get impatient. The beef and chicken is so tender and it's always made fresh unlike the other flame broiler locations I have gone where they had leftover meat or what not which ended up being dry meat....
