I love this specific spot for many reasons: - Located in a great shopping center - Easy to find parking - Self order kiosks (card only) The busiest times are dinner and the weekends, which makes it hard to find seating since it's not a huge space. I ordered Shake Shack for my girlfriend on a Friday night. Luckily, they have a large parking lot at the new shopping center on PCH and 2nd because they had a long line for curb side pick up. This location does not take phone orders because when I called it said to go on the app to order. I wanted to know if they had any vegan options so I had to go in and order. The cashier told me they had vegetarian options which was the portobello burger and cheese fries. The only vegan friendly option they have are French fries. I figured that, so I just ordered for my girlfriend. She wanted the Shack Burger with a single patty and bacon cheese fries. The burger was just the typical burger of tomatoes, cheese, patty, and sauce. I really liked that they separated the cheese and bacon so the fries would not get soggy. This location just opened about a week ago so my husband and I thought we would stop in to check it out. We arrived at 3 PM on a Thursday thinking we were beating the crowds... We were wrong. There was a greeter at the door that was letting people in to order one at a time. There were two registers and various screens yet people were being asked to wait outside for one of those spots to open. Once we got in the first thing that struck me was that it was probably one of the loudest places I've ever been. My husband and I could hardly hear one another speak as we discussed the menu. I made my way up to the register and asked for a vegetarian option and the person at the register could not hear me speak. I had to yell into his ear that I was looking for a vegetarian option. He shouted back and suggested the Shroom burger ($7.49)... the ONLY vegetarian option ... alas given the chaos I thought I would just do it. My husband ordered the Smoke Shack ($7.39) and Crinkle Cut Fries ($3.09) for a total of $17.97 plus tax. We were taking a back when we received our order and saw the tiny size of the hamburgers. They were very small. Additionally, the crinkled fries were not very warm, lacked salt, and were not really anything special. The one thing I enjoyed was the bun but my Shroom Burger was way too fried and LOADED with TONS of cheese... not a healthy option for me. So, there we sat my husband and I and our two Yorkies on the patio of this beautiful new establishment... pondering if we'd be back. My husbands vote is a no. His perspective is that In-N-Out is directly across the street and for $7.60 he can get a double-double, fresh cut fries, and a medium drink. As for myself, because there are NO Vegan options and the ONE vegetarian option is not the healthiest, I'd have to pass I'd love to see healthier options on the menu. As often happens, I read some Yelp reviews that make me want to try the place, so I did. For my first visit, I started simple by getting the ShackBurger and Fries. My only addition was bacon to the burger. This all cost me $12! This seemed high compared to my usual In-n-Out Double-Double, fries, and a drink for $9. Admittedly, that didn't come with bacon but it did have a two patties and a drink, unlike the Shake Shack meal. The fries were dried-out crinkle cut and they didn't even fill up the small paper tray. I could do better at home with a bag of frozen fries. The burger seemed like a miniature, not that much bigger than a single slider. It was pathetic. Three or four bites and it was gone! Maybe their shakes are good. It is called Shake Shack and not Burger Shack after all. For burgers I will be sticking with In-n-Out until I find something better. read more

We've been to several Shake Shacks including the original in New York, and this location holds up. I love in-n-out but believe that the quality of the meat and buns at Shake Shack are better. This location is small, and despite the long line, my husband and I didn't have a hard time finding a table and our food came out promptly. They hire a large amount of staff who seem to keep things moving and the customer service was very friendly. Parking was also pretty easy in the 2nd and PCH complex. The burgers were basically just a salad the actual meat wasn't even big it was so small. The fries were the most disappointing, basically they went to Costco and when to get the big bag of fries and they gave us a small portion of fries like just a hand full. The bacon cheese fries were ehhh because all they did was put a slice of cheese on it then the bacon bites look like the ones from Costco. I have to say that this burger did not live up to the hype. They called it better than In N Out. They said that it was a gastronomical experience. Because of the over hype I've got to give them 2 stars. Let's start out with the size. These burgers are small. It's bordering on the size of a slider. Yeah... Think McDonald's size hamburger in diameter... Yeah, the $0.49 one. Then there's their special sauce. It really didn't have any other flavor than mayo. That was a real turn off. It wouldn't be so bad except that it cost $6. All in all it was 3 slider burgers, 2 fries, 1 six piece chicken bits and a milk shake for $38. Ouch. We then ordered their fries and chocolate milk shake. Both were standard. Nothing special. The only saving grace is that they do offer a chicken menu. That helps with the kids. All in all, this is not gonna be a big draw. There's an In N Out burger and a Five Guys burger spot right next to this spot. So you can go to the shopping center and walk elsewhere for you burger. This reminds me of the BurgerIM that opened in downtown and then closed a year later. Their pricing was way off for the value. Plus there were no deals. I'm afraid that Shake Shack will go the same way in about a year. Too much good competition around for this overpriced option. So try it to get it out of your system. I drive 30 mins out to grab my favorite Smoke Shack Burger & cheese fries to visit this location, even though I'm located closest to the LA branch. The customer service is phenomenal! I'm always greeted with a smile & checked up on along the way to make sure everything turned out great. The managers are also always walking around asking if you're in need of any ketchup or napkins, even though the condiments are available for self-serving! Just awesome! Oh thank the heavens...there's now a Shake Shack within 20 mins of my house! This one is located in the new 2nd&PCH shopping center. It was my first time here and really impressed with the layout and can't wait for more stores to open up there (did I mention parking is free?). But I digress, back to why this Shake Shack was great. Was there a wait, yes but I noticed it died down after I sat down to eat. So if you want no wait on a Sunday, go at 3pm. I didn't actually think it was that bad because the line moved quickly (they had two people taking orders). It probably would have been quicker if most of the people in line had been to Shake Shack before. The only hold up is people taking time to look at the entire menu they have on their wall (there is a lot). I ordered a double hamburger (with everything on it), crinkle fries (a must here), the chicken bites and a vanilla ice cream cone (will get a shake or concrete next time). I have to say everyone working here was super courteous and helpful. The only slight hiccup with this location is in the number of tables? Not much inside compared to other locations I've been to but there is outdoor seating. If you're patient, you'll be able to find a table. Got the ice cream first which was great because I was hangry. I pretty much inhaled it by the time the rest of my order was ready. I have to say it's a well oiled machine for just opening. They have staff cleaning tables constantly to help with the turnover times. Also something I noticed at this one that made me give them 5 stars, they had staff asking people if they wanted refills of their drinks! Haven't seen that at any other Shake Shack and appreciated this extra effort. I'll definitely be back to this location. I parked near the Whole Foods side and it's just a short walk to Shake Shack from there. Honestly after all that food, I needed a longer walk before I got in my car. Luckily, there are plenty of stores already opened with many more coming that helped me get my steps in that day. I'll note there is an In N Out across the street but I'll always pick Shake Shack over them. Happy to have this option closer to home now when I am craving a burger. read more

Food was awesome! We ordered at the kiosk, however we didn't get a text message when our food was ready. We got the initial text that our food was being prepared. Luckily, Goonies was playing on the lawn so we were entertained! Great selection of food and drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) freshly made. We ordered the chicken nuggets and fries for the boys, avo bacon single stack burger for me, shake burger double and added the peppers for my husby, and buffalo cheese fries. I have a code from T-Mobile Tuesday for a free Shackburger. I downloaded the Shake Shack app and tried to place an order repeatedl. But it would not go through. So I drove to the restaurant and stood in line for 25 minutes to get in. I asked for assistance ordering from the app and was told their app was down. So I asked them to honor the code in store. The manager told me they could not honor the code unless it was ordered through the app and he would not honor the code. He told me they expect the app to be back up tomorrow but unfortunately the code expires tonight so it will be invalid. I think the manager should have honored the code since it was no fault of mine that I couldn't order through the app. I moved here recently and was happy to find a Shake Shack but based on this interaction I will no longer be a Shake Shack customer. read more

Location- Shake Shack is located in an outdoor mall/ plaza, which is so convenient because there are many great stores and brand to shop at! I came 30 mins before they closed so parking was empty, however, I don't think parking would be too hard because there are parking structures! Service- I didn't catch the cashier's name, but she was so sweet. We came in 30 mins before closing (which is annoying) but she was very patient and answered any of our questions! Food- I got the Shroom Burger and it was AMAZING!! I don't eat red meat so this was a perfect meals because the burger didn't come with a patty so the inside was a portobello mushroom with cheese!! The first bite I took was absolutely blessing. There was a gush of cheese and mushroom and everything just perfectly bind with each other. I recommend this for any mushroom people or people who don't eat red meat! I also got the fries, which are the typical crinkle fries and the cookies n' cream milkshake, also not too bad! I didn't get a picture of the food, but I overestimated how big the burger was because when I first got it, it was smaller than I expected! It was about the size of a regular circle donut but it was so filling. Overall, Shake Shack was not disappointing and it is definitely worth the hype, so check it out when you can! read more

Went to Shake Shack for their grand opening and boy was I pleasantly surprised! The service was amazing, every employee greeted me with a positive attitude which made it bearable to wait in line! I also got free goodies while waiting which was so cool! While the atmosphere is very loud, the food is phenomenal which I expected as I have been waiting years to try Shake Shack. I got the 'Shroom Burger which was filled with extremely hot yet sweet Muenster and Cheddar Cheeses, which allowed for an very satisfying cheese pull. I also had the Cheese Fries and they were amazing, somehow they made such a simple food very tasty! I only got these two items as you must be careful when ordering the food because the price can add up very quick, but if you go every once in a while, the place is pretty affordable for a good meal! I didn't know much about Shake Shack before my visit today, only that it started as a cart in NY and made it's way across the country. Seemed they would have some decent offerings especially considering the prices. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. For $7.29 I was expecting more quality, flavor and a bit more heft from my single smoke stack. Wife had been to a Shack a few years back and said that she remembered the burger being bigger but who knows. Fries were uneventful even with the cheese and bacon and the hot dog was surprisingly bland, ironic since that's where they got their start. Most every one there was super friendly, hence the 2 stars. Apparently they have their fans who, presumably, feel they are getting their money's worth, but the shack is not for me. read more

The first time I had Shake Shack was in Las Vegas and I was so excited to hear that a new location recently opened up here in Long Beach. The customer service was excellent and we were greeted right away upon entering the establishment. The cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches are awesome and the lemonade is super refreshing. Our first time here at the Long Beach location. The number of shake shacks we have tried and have eaten at is not so many,.. Except the distance we have gone to eat at these is nuts. In Glendale,.. in La,.. in Long Beach and in London. Here is what we know. They are NOT all the same. This Long Beach location seems to do it very well. It is busy but it stays on task. The staff who work directly with customers are friendly and have a good disposition. We had a fun laugh with the guy running the line. The diversity of the staff is a breath of fresh air. I know it sounds silly to many - but I prefer a Resturant that is diverse in its hiring practices. We almost always get the double. It's always too much because we also get the bacon cheese fries. We LOVE LOVE LOVE that they deconstruct the to-go fries. Omg. So smart. Everyone should do this. It's not rocket science. This place was also very clean,.. including the condiments section. It was a bravo to the staff. This location does very well. Another thing we liked is that staff on breaks are not taking up the limited seating areas. There is no reason a break room cannot be provided. The one in La at the Pantages always has single staff sitting at tables and there is never enough seating. Kudos for helping customers enjoy their meals - There really is nothing wrong with this place. 4 stars is pretty good. 5 star spots are for those M rated locations that have 1-3 m stars. But I think they were too slammed to actually put time I to the burgers. We were there last night, a few minutes before closing. My two daughters and I were very hungry, tired and cold, after a long swimming training. As it was almost closing time, I would not expect such good and warm service from the staff, but that was exactly what we received from them, particularly from the manager Jose, after having an issue with one of our orders. The whole team stayed focused in our satisfaction even after working hours, and that was exactly what we needed yesterday.
