This was the second time eating at this LB location. Originally had Shake Shack while visiting my bestie in NYC back in 2015. First time I came here to this location on PCH. I had ordered the Shroom burger it was just ok a bit dry over cooked. It is their meatless burger. It has portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce. On Saturday, my bestie and I came here since she recently moved back to LBC we wanted burgers!! We both ordered the Shack burgers w/ fries and pink lemonade. It hit the spot tasted a little salty on the burgers but not too overwhelming. Meat was very juicy flavorful but again not to overwhelming. Location is in the Shoreline Wholes Foods plaza w ample of parking. Because of COVID, no dine in, only orders to go. Service was fast, easy and friendly. There are plenty of seating areas in the plaza you can eat at and people watch. The only downfall was they said they gave us ketchup but they did NOT. So make sure to check your orders. They were busy but still if you say you did make sure you did. We didn't check and my friend really loves ketchup on her fries was disappointed. Overall, I would come back since it's the closest to me vs going to the LA locations. I prefer Shake Shack over In-N-Out any day!!! I've been to this spot a couple times and know what to expect from ShakeShack but this most recent visit missed the mark! Very busy crowd with a Friday dinner on St. Patrick's Day so kudos to the staff for doing their best, but the burgers were not up to their usual standard quality. It was my friend's first time having Shake Shack, and we both got the double Smoke shack burger. The patties were way too burnt/crispy, almost like the kitchen staff were experimenting with some smash patties?? Not the worst experiment but it was much drier and 'crispier' than what I've had in the past. Definitely chalking this up to a one-off incident but just look at the appearance of the burger on the tray. Should not have passed a quality check. Truffle parmesan fries were interesting! Super nice location in a clean plaza with lots of other restaurants and grocery stores. Love that they're right next to a 20 minute free parking lots and offer curbside pickup! Our food was done quick and we were able to have it brought outside to the car. The quality was pretty standard shake shack quality - it was all devoured in minutes. Closest Shake Shack to Orange County! Saw this location the other day while visiting this new complex and came back to have some burgers. However, the experience was quite underwhelming. Due to COVID, doing a walk-up order in person was a mess. They had people waiting for pick up towards the complex and the line to place order towards the street. A lot of people were confused, and no employees to bother clarifying. Also, I didn't realize until after I left, but there is an outdoor patio for "dine-in," which puzzled me when the cashier asked "dine-in or take-out." Nevertheless, I ordered a ShackBurger and SmokeShack. They were delicious but underwhelming small, and thus, extremely unsatisfying for a $6-$8 burger. The ShackBurger was better, in my opinion. For the up-charge on the SmokeShack, you get tiny bacon and peppers instead of tomato and lettuce. On the bright side, the complex offers plenty of outdoor dining for the take-out meal! read more

I honestly want to like their food, it's clearly high quality, but I don't think I've ever gotten exactly what I've ordered. Every time I've made modifications on the burger they either completely ignore the notes, or they'll only do half of what I ask (today I got two types of lettuce and no avocado on my avocado chicken sandwich that i asked for regular lettuce and no shredded lettuce on) and I've even gotten a sandwich with no actual burger in it before. Having lived in NYC for 4 years, I was so excited to learn that Shake Shack arrived to Long Beach! They are currently accepting orders at the store--you wait in line outside and they are not taking cash, just a heads up! The curb side pick up seemed to be super popular as there was a long line of folks waiting for their food. The plus is that everyone there was so nice and hustling hard. The downside is that our order took about 25 minutes to get since the curb side line was so long. I love their crinkle fries and they are just as good as I remember! However, my burger seemed super tiny. The patty was super thin and seemed smaller then I remember. I've been here about one ore two times before, but someone usually brings it home for take out. This time I was out and about and wanted to try it again. Everything is distanced, you can order from someone or through one of their little kiosk things. You wait outside and they come out with it once it's ready. I got their shack burger and fries. Their burger was your typical classic cheeseburger, which you can never go wrong with. And their fries were pretty normal as well. It's a good second option if you're really burnt out on other places. Only thing I'll say is their burgers are tiny. If I would have known, I would have gotten two haha. OK, I need to quit slackin and get crackin to earn that new Black Elite Badge by writing some damn reviews! My first ever Shake Shack visit, and there was some good, some OK, and some less than OK. Some Good: Great customer service. A smiley greeter at the door, always a positive for newbs. Gave me a quick rundown, and to my surprise informed me that they offer beer and wine. Yay! They have roving floor staff that checks up on you, offers water, and collects your trash. They also have a couple of flats with that days games on. Some OK: not their fault, and i'll blame it on being 11:00am on a Sunday, and being old and half blind. I ordered the 'Shroom Burger assuming that it was a hamburger with a portobello mushroom on top. Their menu description - Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce. I do often opt for veg choices if available, but for my inaugural visit this was not the time to do so. Some Good part deux: The 'Shroom Burger was very tasty! Lots of squirty cheese and the portobello was flavorful, and juicy. And that ShackSauce is pretty magical. Some less than OK: their burgers are quite small, and pricey. And that you can actually see the In-N-Out across the street from your seat kinda gives you burger envy. I really enjoy their Shackburger as it is filling for me and delicious. Their crinkled-cut fries are also amazing since it is properly salted! The workers are also very nice too. I remember the first time I went and they were so kind to me and my friends when we were ordering. The food usually comes out pretty fast as well. I usually try to come here whenever possible and it is so worth the drive. Parking can be difficult but otherwise, Shake Shack is a 10/10 place and I would totally recommend. Had my second Shake Shack experience today, both at this location. I might've been to the location in Las Vegas somewhere along the strip, but I honestly don't remember. It had been too long. First Trip: Can't remember the name of the burger, but I can tell you that this was back in December or possibly late November. They had a burger on special, it was that. Whatever it was, it was great. Wednesday 5/11/22 Trip: Some background, I'm a huge fan of the Jim Beam Bourbon Burger which Carl's Jr. had as a promo, back in 2013. Since then, I'd been looking for other Bourbon Burgers to match it. Even any food items with the name Bourbon in them. To my surprise, I would see not only a BBQ sauce, but Arby's even did some sandwich with a mustard bourbon flavor, to which I liked but it really wasn't what I was looking for. Then, I'd seen bourbon BBQ sauces with ketchup infused. I wasn't a fan of those, either. I think this was also Arby's. Anyways... Obviously by now, you're probably convinced that I'd tried the Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Burger from Shake Shack, and you're right. I actually had the double. Now, anytime I'd had a bourbon flavored sandwich/burger, I would always compare it to what I had in 2013 from Carl's Jr. A couple obvious differences: -Condiments: No lettuce or Tomato (I dislike tomatoes anyways) -No Bacon Strips -Different kind of cheese, not pepperjack but white cheddar -The bourbon sauce was a bourbon Jam, with bacon infused -In addition to Bourbon Bacon Jam, has Shake Sauce I went ahead and had ordered the double, as I prefer a double anyways. The verdict: -Tasted too much meat. Probably because there wasn't much in the burger to offset the meat taste (no lettuce, for example or bacon slices...seems odd I'd say this, given another point I'll make, but trust me on this...) -Shake Sauce: I like it, but not in this burger -Bourbon Bacon Jam: For me, the taste of this was overpowered by the bacon in the jam. I would've preferred the two, separately. The consistency of the burger would be different I think. I need more just sauce, as well. I will try this burger again, but with these differences: -No Shake Sauce -Double Bacon Bourbon Sauce (if possible) -Add Lettuce Now, why did I give this place 4 stars instead of 5? It certainly wasn't the food, it was the website. They need to fix it. Problem 1: Try creating an order after hours. As soon as you try to add an an item, you get the message "Unexpected JSON input" or I seem to recall it doesn't let you order at all after hours, even if you want to set a pickup time. Many restaurants already do this. If you have to pay when you order, what difference does it make if an order is a no-show? You could always configure a reminder/cancellation required 15 minutes prior. Problem 2: There aren't enough customization options on the site. I found this to be specific for the burger in question. For some reason, I can't do something like add lettuce to any burger I want. Some burgers allow me to remove the Shake Sauce, while others do not have that option. I'm thinking maybe I should just skip the tablets or website and order from a person. read more

They used to have a really good house made veggie burger, so I was excited when this location opened close to home. Unfortunately, they no longer offer it, or any vegan options aside from fries. You place and pay for your order on an iPad, and receive a text when it is ready. There is ample indoor and patio seating. Our food was ready in under 10 minutes, despite the place being extremely busy. The Christmas Cookie Shake was fantastic. Thick and creamy, it tasted of pure melted ice cream and buttery shortbread. The fresh whipped cream on top was a nice surprise. The food was less impressive. I got their only vegetarian option, the 'Shroom Burger, which was only tasty for about 2 bites. The deep fried, cheese filled, portobello patty is an overly oily gut bomb lacking any complexity in flavor. The soft potato bun was the best part. My boyfriend got the Shack Burger, and said he prefers In-N-Out. The Cheese Fries were good-I like the crinkle cut version that they use.
