The Atmosphere Finding a seat at Montgomery Village is usually a tactical maneuver, but tonight the place was virtually empty and--more importantly--actually clean. It provided a rare, sterile calm that felt almost misplaced for a burger joint, but I'll take "spotless" over "sticky" any day of the week. The Spread The kitchen is still hitting its marks on the essentials. The ShackBurger, bolstered by those salty, crispy onions, remains a masterclass in fast-casual engineering. The fries were hot, crisp, and sufficiently drowned in cheese sauce, exactly as the gods of sodium intended. To wash it down, the red wine in a can was surprisingly decent--not a vintage to write home about, but it certainly beats a soda fountain cup when you're trying to elevate a Tuesday night. The Misses It wasn't a perfect run. The vanilla and chocolate custard was notably off--texture or temp, something just wasn't right, which is a rare fumble for a brand built on "Shakes." The Service The staff were perfectly friendly, though they seemed to be enjoying the empty dining room as much as I was. They do serve a decent burger, but it's pricey. 3 burgers, a chicken sandwich, 3 sides (2 fries / 1 onion ring) and small vanilla shake $75. There is self serve ordering on an iPad and they bring your order to you. Pretty fast from order to getting our food. I probably won't order onion rings again- I think there were about 5 and it was $5.50. Bacon cheeseburger single $10 and a double is $13. I did like the crunchy onion add on and the thin potato bun goes well with the burger patty. Finally made time to try Shake Shack in Santa Rosa. Ordering was easy and done through the Shake Shack mobile app. I ordered the ShackBurger, the Chicken Shack and the Bacon Cheese Fries. In terms of price, yeah you're going to pay a pretty penny for these three items; however, the food is fairly good. My only complaint was the chicken on the ShackBurger was a bit dry, otherwise, great flavor! Would be happy to come back in the near future and try more items on the menu. read more

We wanted to grab something to eat at a familiar burger spot and Shake Shack was the winner for today! This location is located on the other side of Montgomery Village across the street from the new Salt and Straw ice cream shop, Ross, and Lucky's. We had trouble looking for it because we parked in the wrong section of Montgomery Village next to Ross. Surprisingly, this location wasn't as busy like the other locations. It was clean, bathrooms were clean, quiet, and had plenty of seating and we ordered through the tablets. I opted for the usual Shackburger, fried pickles, and the limited Dubai Chocolate Shake. S E R V I C E: I ordered online, and by the time it was my time to pick my food up, I headed to the store and waited inside. It's roomie inside with plenty of seating, but it was quite empty. After 15 minutes a staff member told me they were backed up, but my order will be out shortly. 10 minutes later, they checked my name, and at that moment, my order finally came in. So the whole time I was waiting, my order didn't go through. I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to make my order - and it was only 1 burger and a drink. This was the 3rd Shake Shack I have been to (this one, San Mateo & Oregon airport). Service in this one seemed the fastest. Food was ready after a very short wait. The bathroom was also clean. And when we asked if they can cut a burger in half they said they'd give us a knife so we could do it. You throw your own trash away and separate the recycle trash or compost and trays. Was craving some comfort food and my sister recommended Shake Shack. I was a little turned off by the reviews at first but we decided to see for ourselves and have our own judgement. The pictures don't look like much presentation wise but the burger itself was really really good - I could have ordered a second. The iced tea was not overly sweetened or syrupy which I appreciated. Service was quick and straightforward with the kiosks, and the place had a laid-back vibe. Staff were friendly and attentive. I didn't think I'd interact much with them at first due to the order yourself concept but they were actually very helpful and checked on us while we dinned ensuring we had what we needed. Husband said his burger was just okay nothing special My chicken avo bacon sandwich was also just okay. The chicken was crispy but the bacon wasn't nearly cooked enough and looked fake as well as the unripened avo pieces that were on it. The herbed mayo had more flavor than their ranch. Shake Shack is finally in Santa Rosa!! Welcome to town!! The first time I tried Shake Shack was in NYC just down the block from my hotel and loved it! I'm super stoked they're in town and I can have it anytime I want now! I arrived with the place packed from people waiting for their orders and all the tables were taken. Luckily, there was an open kiosk to order, so I jumped right on and placed my take out order. I noticed that even though I selected take out, it still asked me to enter a "order number" (it's more for dining in, you would pick up an tag that contains an order number next to you and enter it on the kiosk). You actually do not need that for take out, they will just text you when your order is ready. From ordering to pick up took exactly 20 mins, which is pretty quick in my book. Order was correct, nothing was missing and best of all..delicious! I ordered the Avocado Bacon Burger, Avocado chicken burger, two strawberry shakes and crinkle fries. The burgers were fresh, delicious, good size (not oily or soggy like some places). Fries were still soft but not deflated or soggy when I arrived home. Plenty of side ketchup was given without asking! Shake Shack is one of my favorite fast food burger spots, will be back plenty! read more

I'm not sure why they have such a huge following. When they first opened here several months ago, the line to get in was around the block. That has settled down - still busy but not so crazy. I went with a friend who loves this place. I had a basic cheeseburger - good but nothing super special. I will say their shakes are good though. We used the self-service kiosk to order our food- easy peasy/apple pay n what not. Atmosphere is brand new so certainly clean and tidy. Lots of staff running around ensuring all customers got their order in a timely matter. Within 10 mins our order was ready to go. We ordered a Shack Cheeseburger (with bacon), Spicy Korean BBQ Cheese Fries, and Yuzu Honey Lemonade. Everything about the food to me was just okay. The burger was good but I've definitely had better burgers from local spots in Santa Rosa. There just wasn't enough of a flavor to me. It tasted plain. The fries were pretty good. The cheese was a very nice touch but again, not a lot of flavor and not worth it to me. However definitely get the Yuzu Honey Lemonade while you can! It's sooo refreshing. Very good. Staff was outstanding and very eager to help out. I have loved Shake Shack since I stumbled upon it a number of years ago while walking around NYC. I was excited when they came to Larkspur, but that location seemed harder to get to than actually flying to NYC. It just never worked out and when it did, I didn't feel the same as I did when I had my first bites way back when. When SS came to SR, I was a little disappointed because I live on the other side of town and there really isn't a desire to drive across to grab a burger. After a half a year being open, I guess we figured it was a good time to finally visit. My wife and I happened to be in the area and hungry...so Shake Shack it was. I love ordering on the tablet. So much easier as you can take your time and peruse the menu and it's options. I ordered a double cheese burger, crinkle cut fries and a peaches and cream shake. My wife got a cheeseburger and custard. Dang it, I should have gotten the custard. I miss east coast custard. Next time. Burger and fries were delicious. We have been looking forward to trying the Shake Shack ever since they first opened. My only regret is not trying it sooner. I had the single ShackBurger and Spicy Fries with Ranch. Well, maybe two regrets. Second one being not ordering the double (who am I kidding) the triple burger since it was soooooo good! My boyfriend got the same except just the plain fries. The food was brought to our table and we were asked if we needed anything else. We did notice there was no ketchup so the pleasant server said she would get it for us. Then we realized there were no napkins so I got up to get them. By the time I had done that the server was already back with the ketchup (super quick). I asked where the napkins were and she again said she would get them for us. When she got back she again made sure there was nothing else we needed and told us to enjoy the meal. And that we did. I wish I could make a burger like this at home. It was so flavorful and juicy with just the right amount of everything on it. And the spicy fries...OMG! They were spicy but not too spicy. There were 3 ordering internet kiosks with patrons ordering through cyberspace rather than at the counter with a human. The burgers and fries were ready when I arrived within 10 minutes of ordering from home online. Unfortunately the fries were already cool and limp. The Shack Burger flavors were ok but a bit underwhelming from what I expected from a smash burger. The Burger and buns were cooling as well in the paper bag and dissolving into each other. Perhaps eating in would be better than taking to go to maintain quality in this regard. I was happy to discover that the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. My husband and I really wanted to try this place and went in on a Saturday afternoon. I got a mushroom burger and he got a double burger with cheese fries. We got our food pretty fast. My burger wasn't even hot at all! My husband said that his was hot and took a bite... he spit it out because he said the cheese was so salty and the patty tasted weird. Mine was cold and the cheese was horrible! The fries were covered in this powder-like cheese and super salty. We definitely will not be coming back. The food is super expensive I might add. Location is convenient. The staff there are young and really just - dumb. Almost like walking zombies. The few times I've been are on weekends and each time there is never anyone cleaning the tables, cleaning the bathrooms or cleaning the touch screens that so many people have touched.
