Stopped by Shake Shack for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and decided to eat in. The location is great and has a chill feel , quick service . I tried the Chicken Shack with fries and the Pomegranate Basil drink. The chicken sandwich was a little greasy but still tasty. The fries came out hot and crispy-definitely a highlight. The Pomegranate Basil drink was really good and refreshing, a nice balance to the meal. Overall, a solid lunch spot with good food and a convenient location. My family enjoys Shake Shack, we wind up here at least once a month. What's good: *Fries. One of the few vegan items they have. The whole family requires an order of these *My son loves the grilled cheese. *Milkshakes. The kids are in to these and there are a lot of flavor options. *Drinks. My wife consistently orders a Shake Shack Strawberry Lemonade with Mini Passionfruit Popping Boba. *Service. Staff here is excellent. They are very attentive, keep you up to date on your order status, quickly fix any errors and sometimes, when they aren't slammed, will chat with you while you wait. Why only three stars? *Lack of vegan options. They have a veggie shack burger that can be veganized with no bun, sauces, cheese or crispy onions. They even offer a lettuce wrap version if you are in to that sort of thing. With all the incredible vegan options out there (chicken, hot dogs, burgers, buns, shakes) why can't we get some? I was craving a burger so I stopped by Shake Shack. When you walk in there are kiosks for you to place your order. Then they have you take a number and enter it with your order so your food can be delivered to your table. There is adequate seating and lighting in the dining room. They have gender neutral bathrooms, hand sanitizer stations and old bay in addition to traditional condiments for fries. My food was delivered to my table hot off the press. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, cheese fries and sunset lemonade. The burger and fries were on point but I didn't like the lemonade. I said something to the cashier and she brought over the other flavors for me to try. I didn't like those either and asked for a regular lemonade and she brought it over. I really like Shake shack but I don't think I will be visiting this location any more. This spot is located around Towson Town Centre so normally it can get very busy in the area. We placed a mobile order earlier that day for pick up at 7 PM and arrived on the earlier side which we did not mind waiting. When we got there the line was out the door and the counter was packed with people waiting! Two of the staff were kind enough to try to help others but other staff were very direct and borderline rude from what I saw. Several people waited probably close to 30 minutes + for their food and I even saw some people in line waiting to place their order and just leaving because it took so long to even order. Fast forward- we have now waited about 20 minutes past our pick up time and when asked about it, the staff was kind enough to help but almost confused and had to ask several times when the order was placed because they could not find it. Overall, it was very unorganized and I understand they were trying their best but it was so backed up, not even the orders placed ahead were taken care of in a timely manner. read more

Shake Shack has a good formula for its business. The burgers can be terrific when properly made and served. Unfortunately, the last time I had a great experience was at the Shake Shack in Dubai. Everything was exactly as it should be, reminiscent of the restaurant I experienced 5-10 years ago. This Towson location is a lesson in disappointment. The last 20ish burgers we have purchased here resemble the attached image. It will be composed of a tiny leaf of lettuce, a couple slices of tiny tomatoes and an overcooked meat patty. None of the components are round, and the sandwich is slopped together where every bite is a different experience. We visited the Towson location around 4:30 on Friday and it was quite given late afternoon. We ordered a couple of the Shack Burgers-double. (One with bacon) You have a choice of medium or well-done temps and we opted for medium. A nice balance of flavors- Bacon was cooked just right & not too crispy with a slight smoke flavor to the beef. This time we also tried the hot dog. Vienna Beef-which reminded me of Chicago hot dogs. Simple dog and we added the Shack Sauce but would be nice if they offered more condiments besides cheese. Ordering went fast and the people at the counter were friendly. Solid burger with simple and not overwhelming varieties. Some steps above Mc, BK, etc and definitely worth the extra $s. read more

This location's manager needs to address the shoddy, poor performance of this restaurant. Our order (2 burgers and 2 fries) took 45 MINUTES. There were only 3 other tables with patrons in the entire restaurant. Our fries were ice cold (sat on the tray for 30 minutes while waiting for the burgers). Only one of the two ordering kiosks worked, yet nobody ever offered to take our order manually. And all of this for $37?? This is the lowest level of service we have experienced at a Shake Shack. Great burgers, great shakes. Just as you'd expect. Shake Shack is to the East Coast as In-N-Out Burger is to the West Coast, a burger chain that surpasses typical fast food with higher quality meals while still delivering them to you quickly. It was a pleasant surprise that Shake Shack opened a location in downtown Towson, a location ideal for late night treats after an evening of partying or grabbing something to go to sneak into the movie theaters (when it becomes safe to go back to the movies). Shake Shack's menu is so small that I've had the chance to sample all of their burgers. The classic Shake Shack burger is exactly what you'd expect from a quality diner burger. Potato rolls, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, secret sauce, and a "smashed" style burger, which is done by smashing a sphere of ground meat into the griddle, giving your burger patty an extra crunchy texture. The secret sauce, known as Shack Sauce, is a tangier play on ketchup, and nothing too remarkable other than it serves its purpose of lubricating the buns. One thing to note is the distinct lack of onions in the burgers. You can request them to be added, and I highly recommend you do so for that bitter crunch that feels so good in an otherwise sweet burger. You can't go wrong with the classic. Next is the SmokeStack Burger. You take the normal burger, but ditch the veggies and add smoked bacon and cherry peppers. It's the same quality burger experience but it reminds me more of summertime barbeques. I'd still recommend adding onions to round out all the sweet notes coming from the bacon and peppers. The Shroom Burger is Shake Shack's vegetarian option, and they went in a very unusual direction. Rather than make an artificial patty out tofu or beans, Shake Shack takes a patty sized portobello mushroom, breads and fries it, and stuffs it with different cheeses before adding the classic accompaniments of lettuce, tomatoes, and shack sauce. It's not what I think of when I think of a veggie burger, but it's certainly delicious. To me, the best burger is the Shack Stack. You take the classic Shack burger, and top it with the deep-fried and cheese filled portobello mushroom from the Shroom Burger. What you get is an earthy, funky, sweet, and salty flavor with layers of textures mixed in. Try the classic and Shroom burgers before tackling this collab. The shakes at Shake Shack are good, but not as iconic as their burgers. Thickness wise, they are a little on the thin side, being just thick enough to travel through a normal plastic straw, but the shakes are loaded with bits of brownies or marshmallows or other sweet chunks depending on the shake you order. One major downside is the fries. Despite the care and quality of their burgers, Shake Shacks' fries are an afterthought. They taste as if they were frozen, then air-fried with some vegetable oil. If you're looking for a healthier fry, then I suppose these will do, but if you're looking for healthy, then Shake Shack is the wrong place to get your fix. Was excited to see this new location and decided to grab some for lunch. Food was on par with other locations. The packaging they use is great and guarantees your food won't end up soggy if you are taking it to go. It's really hard to access if you are not walking to the location. For starters it's on a very busy corner and across the street from an apartment complex lot. It was very cumbersome to park and the cars don't really respect the cross walk. I somehow missed the takeout window and walked inside but was quickly directed back outside to where I needed to go. This place had great customer service!! It was clean, and we got everything we ordered in a beautifully presented way. The food tasted great. It was our first time trying the chicken nuggets, and when you dipped them in the sauce the breading falls off. They tasted good, but it was tricky to eat. This is my first time to this location and it will likely be my last. When I walked in tel he one young lady was counting cash and the other was standing with her. No one greeted me or told me you can order on what was the tablet, so I had to make the assumption. As I'm ordering on the tablet another young lady came to the register and help customers. Definitely think they need to work on customer service. Then my order was incorrect so I had to wait even longer. They took the burger to remake it but left the fried in the bag so I would have ended up with cold fries. I had to ask for them to keep them warm and understandably they couldn't take them back so anther young lady offered a to give me fresh fries once my burger was remade. Love shake shack and have been to many locations across various states. Was super excited to discover one was finally opening up the street from me! Because it was a cold snowy day/covid we decided to do carry out and order ahead of time, but this location seems on par with all the others I've visited. When we do feel comfortable dinning in again this will defiantly be a go to family spot for us. It's super quick and you can order alcoholic beverages :) My toddler loves the chicken bites and milk shakes. I love both the burgers and chicken sandwich and usually alternate which I get. The burger and fries I had from this new location tasted just as consistent and great as my previous experiences. I think their crinkle cut fries are fabulous and defiantly not an afterthought as someone else posted. I specifically remember when they switched to fresh cut fries a few years back and they were terrible. They ended up being back the crinkle and improving on them. I'll also mention staff was very considerate and when they noticed we had ordered one gluten free bun they made us aware that the fries were cooked in the same oil as chicken so there could be cross contamination (we were aware) but was a thoughtful mention. The shake shack app is really easy to use and a quick way to grab a meal. Only downside to this Towson location is lack of parking right by it. It would be great if they had a 10 min pick up type spot right outside or they could bring it out to the car. Right across the street at the mall chick fil a has designated pickup spots and they bring to you you, for example. So glad that I no longer need to drive to downtown whenever I'm craving Shake Shack! This new location is clean and spacious, and there's a huge parking garage location right across the street. I placed an online order for pick up about 15mins before hand, and my food was ready for pickup by the time I got there. They have a little pick up window at the side of the restaurant, but the "wave here" button (think it's suppose to open the window?) didn't seem to work. I had to knock on the window a few times to get the staff's attention. The double Shack burger I got was delicious and nicely packaged. First time at this location and will be my last. I enjoy Shake Shack but for whatever reason this one needs help. I had a double burger and asked for sliced onions as well. Like another review I read here, the burgers were barley slapped into the bun and hanging out in different directions. A tiny piece of lettuce, two very small tomato slices and literally one small piece of onion were on the burger. I also ordered the chicken bites. Having worked in the restaurant industry for many years, it is easy to tell when the oil in the deep fryer needs changed. I can tell for sure this oil was wellllll passed it's time. The chicken bites smelled and tasted like burnt oil, a taste I am still trying to get rid of 2 hours later. AFTER the meal, I proceeded to the counter to order a milkshake to go, mostly to help with the lingering taste of burnt chicken bites. Would you believe the worker told me they don't have shakes? Let me repeat this- SHAKE SHACK SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE SHAKES. I left in disgust and will not return. I had a double burger, 10 chicken bites and a large soda which cost me almost $25. As I walked in I was ignored and waited for someone to finally take my order. It took forever to get my food. When I finally got my food they did not follow directions clearly. My burger was NOT well done & pink meat was showing. I asked for another burger to be made, well done this time & it was still uncooked. I asked for cheese on the side for my fries & a hair was found inside of the cheese cup. When I asked a worker to provide me with a new cup she huffed & puffed & gave me an attitude. This is the second time asking for a number one double stack and there's no lettuce , tomato or sauce just cheese and meat. Went there because I like Vienna Beef hot dogs. Wish I hadn't. Ordered mustard, onion, & relish - told no relish (what people don't put relish on a burger). If you serve hot dogs, shouldn't you have relish, CHOPPED onions, chile sauce, hot sauce, etc. The onions were curled slices - not chopped. Hade to use tiny packets of yellow mustard - you know the ones that are hard to get open and don't contain enough mustard. Asked for a small diet coke, my ticket said dr pepper - large. That was made right except for the size. VERY, VERY dissapointed in Shake Shack. They clearly have no idea what they are doing. I actually did not enjoy this location. I called several times after I realized that I made a mistake on my curbside, online order. They never answered the phone. I literally called repeatedly to no avail. I decided to suck it up and keep the order as is. When I arrived, I expected to pick up my "curbside order" from the car. Apparently curbside ordering at this location requires you to find parking near Towson mall and walk up to the "curbside/walk-up" window. Thank you to the super nice folks at this Shake Shack. I got stuck at my office and picked up my online order a few hours late. When I got there the team member said she was going to re-make my entire order. I said no that's ok, considering it was my fault that it was sitting out there for a few hours. She insisted, and gave me the most perfect looking Shroomburger with avocado that I have ever seen, it looked like the promotional pictures.
