Everyone inside is super kind and attentive and the food comes out cooked to perfection every time. We recently tried the chicken burger and it was delicious as well. TLDR; Skip the K-Shack menu entirely. I'm a long time fan of Shake Shack, back to the days of Madison Square Park in NY but it's just not the same anymore. The food is pedestrian, the fries are truly meh, the prices are high, and they no longer do rotating custard flavors. We had 2 of the Korean BBQ burgers and split an order of the Korean fries. The burgers were neither Korean nor BBQ. What they were was SALTY. The smear of brown sauce on the burger had a faint Asian tone to it, when you could taste it at all, but it was lost under everything else. The fried onion strands wee nice, though. That same brown sauce was the only saving grace for the fries. They were served sprinkled with a nearly tasteless red powder and a small cup of that sauce. RIP, old friend. read more

I am incredibly disappointed by my experience at this location. Shake Shack heavily markets itself as a dog-friendly brand, and this specific Village District location is actively listed online as "Pets Welcome." However, there is physically no way to order food here without leaving your dog outside completely unattended, which is a major safety hazard.To make matters worse, when a helpful female cashier tried to accommodate me by ringing up a plain patty for my dog, the manager stepped in and visibly took out their irritation on her. It is unacceptable to treat employees poorly for trying to provide basic customer service, and it is entirely misleading to claim a location is dog-friendly when your policies force owners to choose between ordering food or keeping their pet safe. My husband and I came here before a show next door. We wanted a quick dinner because we'd prefer to use our "two item minimum" for drinks at the comedy club. I can't believe how expensive Shake Shack has gotten! $13 for a cheeseburger is crazy. We ended up ordering a mango mini boba drink and cheese fries to share. There's very little customer to employee interaction here since you order on one of the kiosks when you walk in. They did bring our fries and drink out and the employee was very friendly. The restaurant was very clean and tidy and employees were cleaning throughout the short time we stayed. The drink and cheese fries were good; it was a decent snack before a fun night out. When we were leaving, I saw a sign that said employees are paid $15/hour and it made more sense why the prices were higher and it made me appreciate this location more knowing they're not paying the ridiculously low N.C. minimum wage. I'm happy there isn't a shake shack close to me or I'd be trading pounds for dollars. The food is always great. I've never had a bad experience when it comes to my order or food quality which is why I keep coming back! The service is almost nonexistent in recent years now that they've moved to ordering at the kiosk. The only interaction you get with staff is when they drop off your food and even that's pretty minimal. That combined with the prices are the only reason I can't give it 5 stars. I placed my order online ahead of time and while it was a few minutes late, it was hot and correct. My family and I ended up eating outside on one of their sidewalk tables. They had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating while we were there. My son loved the bacon and avocado cheeseburger, while I always opt for the traditional Shack burger. Sometimes simple is just the best! I like their fries, I don't love them. I also do thoroughly enjoy their shakes and love how they have different special flavors every month. I went last week. Erica & Tre are phenomenal employees. The entire staff was wonderful. Tre assisted me with my gift card. And Erica assisted me with my order. The restaurant was very clean. The wait time was not long. The food was fresh and hot. My chicken bites were flavorful and my fries were nice & crispy. I also tried the Cherry Blossom Milkshake. It was good. Plenty of seating. Parking is in the front but may be hectic on Friday and Saturday nights. Their veggie burgers & chicken sandwiches are also delicious. I love the shopping district there and was looking for a kid-friendly place to dine after shopping at the nearby Barnes and Noble. Let me start by saying I am not a burger lover, but I had to go here for a team lunch. Place was clean and bright and had four kiosks to easily place your order. I began my order, planning on ordering a grilled chicken sandwich. I was pleased to see that they had gluten free buns. Alas, they did not have grilled chicken. I decided to order the veggie burger. However, I couldn't find the option for a gluten free bun anywhere! Finally, I just selected the lettuce wrap. When my burger came out my whole team burst out laughing. The latest Shake Shack in the Triangle is now open and offering great smash burgers, fries, and more! I dropped in during opening week and while this store is a bit smaller than the Cary or Chapel Hill locations, it's pretty convenient to me and glad to have it here. Order at one of the kiosks up front (there are table numbers/stands next to kiosk) or do it the old fashioned way at the register. The food is cooked to order and will take 10 minutes or so and is brought to your table. There's a condiment station and napkins that you can grab while you wait for your food. I did the standard Shack Burger and splurged with a cinnamon roll shake which was creamy and dense, it held up well even as it warmed up. And the burger is as good as usual, the quality of Shake Shack ingredients stand out and they are exacting with what comes out of the kitchen. I rarely eat out at all anymore; less than once a month. I decided to treat myself by getting Shake Shack and enjoying it at home with a movie. I ordered the new Peach Shake, Cheese Fries, and a Smoke Shack on a Gluten Free bun. It took a really long time for my order and I was the only one waiting. When I got home I saw that I had been given just a cheese burger on a gluten free bun, it had lettuce, tomato, onion, but no sauce, peppers, or bacon. Due to the fact that it was a big deal for me to be buying this at all and it was my one night trying to enjoy myself, it being very expensive, especially for the burger I actually ordered and paid for, I decided to go back. On top of it going back meant that the cheese fries I got (which had the cheese already on them, I have only ever gotten them with the sauce in a cup) and the milk shake would now be ruined. I let the woman at the counter know the situation and she insisted I got a gluten free bun, but I tried to explain to her that the entire burger was wrong and that I was upset because also my entire meal is going to now be ruined because I decided to ask for a correction. She said it was my fault for not checking it in the store; but frankly after touching the touch screen to order and pay, I don't want to rifle through the food and open it all up. I don't think she believed me because she opened the burger and checked it with her hands and so did 2 other workers. 3 separate people spread the layers of the burger apart looking for the ingredients as if they were sure they would find them. One of the workers took the receipt off of the paper bag (the only receipt I had), took the burger into the back and left me with the empty bag. Only maybe a minute later they gave me a burger in a box this time, asked me to look at it, I did and I left. I was suspicious of the fact they were able to make an entire burger, toast bread and everything in a hot minute, almost immediately, when it normally takes 10-20 minutes to get a order. So when I got home I took it out of the box and pulled it out of the paper to find not only black or blue hairs in it (I am blonde) but I am pretty sure they just gave me back the same burger because the bun had gotten messed up where they were going through it and the bun was messed up the same way. Needless to say I lost money, time, and didn't eat last night. Not only was the fries and milkshake ruined, but I wasn't going to eat them and was pretty disgusted at the possibility that they just put toppings on the burger that 3 separate people had pulled apart with their hands and given back to me? Could it have been a new one that also happened to have a similar messed up bun and they had it already made? Maybe? But, then on top of it to have hair in it after all of that! I guess the universe really said I don't want you to eat that, because I did not. But, I am really upset, I can't afford to waste money like that and it really ruined my night. read more

I have been to the Shake Shack in NYC but this one in the Village District is sub par. There were only two people waiting and one ordering when I was there. There were at least five+ people working in the kitchen and counter yet my order took 20 minutes for one burger and fries. When I went to get a drink refill I had to wait at the counter for several minimum while one lady did everything but look over my way and I was only two feet from her. The other girl looked annoyed that I even asked for a refill on a fountain drink. There are plenty of other places to go for a burger. Not impressed. read more

It's really slow, and the quality of the food was not great. The fries came out soggy and cold. The burger and shake was OK.
