We basically go to this location of Shake Shack to see the sunset views. Overall, the burgers are good, but definitely on the smaller side and more expensive compared to similar craft burger businesses like this. The Shroom burger which is the only vegetarian option is pretty good, but definitely a gut buster with the deep fry and stuffed cheese. It would be great to have another veggie burger option. The fries are pretty basic with the crinkle cut. You definitely have to have the cheese sauce with it. The shakes and hot dogs are good too. Everything is still A-OK! read more

Nicely decorated and lake front view, this burger and shake place offered tasty food and drinks. In these unprecedented times *drink*, it is hard NOT to find a restaurant upping their cleaning and hygiene game, however some places truly fail. That is not the case with Shake Shack. They have extended their cleaning practices, and all staff are required to wear masks. They have upped their in store pickup to accommodate take out orders, and they are ready FAST. Couple draw backs? They have stopped their curbside pickup (at least at the time of this review), which was fast and limited face-to-face contact even more. They also don't have distance markers in their pickup line, so some people take some liberties with the 6 foot rule. Overall, Shake Shack is still winning in my book: quality, delicious food, and a team that keeps me safe. What's not to love? read more

UPDATE- we contacted the GM, Rosa and she was very apologetic and committed to additional training for her staff. We tried visiting the Winter Park Florida restaurant (which we do all the time) and the "manager" Andrea refused to NOT cut a hot dog for a kids order. We explained that the order was for an allergy child that we have done this many times and the apparent manager refused to place the order. I reminded her that the hot dog was fully cooked and we were ok with the dog not being fully hot if that is what she was worried about. Embarrassing customer service so we just left. read more

That was not the case today, and I tell you what, a Wendy's single costs about the same as this place, but it ain't even close. If Dave Thomas was still alive, he'd probably tell his people "They're gonna miss the Frosty, but we might as well close up shop." "Why is that?" you might ask... Because these people are the smartest people in the burger game right now. Five Guys can't touch them. They use potato buns, and then they grill them in butter. And I said "Well, hell. I do that when I make burgers for my folks." And they say to me "What'd you do to this burger to make it so good." Well... that. They actually get the best stuff from all over the nation. They're kinda trying to do Nashville Hot Chicken right now, but I'm a little gunshy, because I tried KFCs version, and I said "This ain't Nashville chicken." Anyhow, they don't really say much about their hotdogs, but they use Vienna beef... and that's a Chicago thing. And that is what Portillos uses. I don't even like hot dogs, but I like theirs just fine. I made two trips back to that place, and I was there less than 24 hours. So why the four star review here? Because I have been here twice, and the Abita Draft root beer has not been stocked. And they say "Sorry we're out." And I kinda like draft root beer myself, and I've had Abita's actual beer. What kind, exactly? Their Purple Haze. That stuff is delicious. But I can't get the root beer, because they kinda keep it on lock in Louisiana. So basically, that's the only reason. But it's probably not their fault, because somebody had it out for these people in 2014 and 2015, and I'm gonna make a little noise about this, because I got the time. Eat here without hesitation. Look at the restroom photo if are interested in how smart these people are. I cannot begin to show my appreciation to the manager & staff. My mother has been on COVID lockdown at her ALF since March. I wanted to bring her a strawberry milkshake for my very first in person 30 minute visitation. My visit coincided with store opening. Love these burgers, but they are smaller compared to other burger joints. This location in particular is in a great location, right next to the lake and next to Trader Joe's if you need to get some grocery shopping done. The burgers to me are average, but I liked how they have "Poochini's" available for my pup! Overall, these burgers don't stand out that much to me, but that doesn't mean they're terrible. I really wish I could give half stars. I couldn't really decide between a 4 and 5. The parking here is wild! Many establishments share the same lot. The edifice itself and the interior decor is really neat. Very simplistic in a modern way. Digging that! The burger options are very simply put and the menu delves further beyond your friendly neighborhood cow into the world of hot dogs, shakes of course, pie!, ice cream, and several other specialty drinks. Your spending just over $10 here. That is without a drink! A burger and fries. The cashiers are quick and communicate well. Your given a buzzer which will illuminate when your order is ready. The seating in the rear is marvelous. I gazed into the reflections of the sky on the lake right out back. Plenty of benches and chairs are located outside for your convenience. The food is picked up and the buzzer is returned! I had a smoke stack which was basically a standard shack burger with LOTS of cherry pepper. I didn't really mind at first. Little did I know how much cherry pepper awaited me inside that burger. I just scooped some of it out. The burger meat is especially good. A very peculiar salty taste is imbued within the meat. I was excited to try out Shake Shack but very disappointed that I did. I ordered ahead through the app for curbside pickup and my order was late getting out to me. I ordered it 45 minutes ahead of time as I was coming from the Sand Lake area of Orlando heading back home. So, plenty of time to get it done and properly. Or perhaps, too much time?? I followed the app instructions and hit the button to indicate that I was there and it took almost ten minutes after my pick up time for my food to be brought out to me. So the first thing I checked? The fries...they have to be hot, right?? Nope. Lukewarm. Such a letdown. I also ordered the strawberry rhubarb shake. This had me super stoked because I grew up eating strawberries and rhubarb in the summer back home in Wisconsin. The consistency was thick, I could taste strawberry, but nary a rhubarb could be found throughout. My mushroom burger would have been good if it were hot and had avocado on it like I ordered. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the guy who brought my food was kind enough to give me a lemonade when I asked because it was so hot out that day. Been here a couple of times before checking in (during those times it was because other people wanted to go and not out of my own craving) and I got to say, this place is more "hype" than substance. I feel like the media blew this place up to be more than what it is. And here are my reasons: Firstly, for the price you are paying ($10.39) for a double hamburger- the burger portions are small. The burger almost reminds me (size wise) of double burger from Steak 'n Shake. I'm sorry to say, it's not bang for your buck Secondly, the quality of the ingredients are quite decent which is why this review gets 3 stars. The beef patties were seasoned well, but I must say this time a little in the salty side. Toppings selection is not crazy and just the standard- lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions. But really that is all a good burger needs of the patty is just right (in my opinion). Thirdly, the environment is inviting, family friendly and casual. They have a great patio view (the sunset is also why this place gets 3 stars)with a ping pong table to kill the time. Fourthly, the area in which it is located has horrible parking. The plaza is too small and houses too many businesses. We waited 15 minutes for a parking space to open up (once again, this was when I came with people that wanted too see what the hype was all about). First off, I know this isn't the most important aspect, but this Shake Shack is beautiful! It's in a strip mall which is unfortunate, but inside there are vertical gardens, cool funky Shake Shack artwork, and plenty of seating both indoor and out. Since it's Florida, and we wanted to take advantage of the warm nights, we ate outside where we were happily surprised that the restaurant backs up to a serene lake. There were cute colorful patio chairs, picnic tables, and even a ping pong table to provide some entertainment while you wait for your food. There's also a fountain beside the restaurant, so you can listen to the water flowing which was very peaceful. Beside the decor, the food was excellent too. How can you go wrong with Shake Shack? We both ordered the Shake Stack which is amazing! I added bacon for even more gluttony. :) We shared the fries (they're crinkle cut) and a vanilla concrete with toffee, peanut butter sauce and chocolate chunks. They charged us for the chocolate chunks, but it was left out of our concrete unfortunately. I let the staff know, and the manager offered to make us a new one, but we were stuffed, so he gave me a coupon for a free shake that I can use on a repeat visit. Best of all, there's no lines like at the NYC locations. :) read more

I can't believe anyone would say Shake Shack is overrated! This is my favorite burger joint in Orlando, and I would def say it's better than In & Out on the west coast. The burger just melts in your mouth. I only need a single patty, but my boyfriend opted for the double and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also split cheese fries and a holiday cookie milkshake. I said I only wanted a sip of the milkshake, but I couldn't stop going for more. It tasted exactly like a cookie. The fries are perfectly cooked and I love the crinkle cut. I love that they offer options for dogs so your furry pal can eat with you. This location is right on a lake so you can sit on the patio and enjoy the view. The Burger game is pretty intense in Orlando. There are comparisons to Burger-Fi and 5 Guys and I have to say the execution of the burger/bun/toppings are just great here ! Certainly it's not a drive through $4 burger but the taste definitely makes the price worth it. The shakes are really good as well (if you like them on the thick side) and the fries are just "meh" in my opinion. Certainly a solid choice for a GOOD burger. Wow has this place gone downhill. First the positives - incredibly friendly staff who obviously enjoy working there. If only they had a decent product to work with. We haven't been here in a while, and the first thing I noticed is that the restaurant appears a little run down (the view at sunset remains a strong point of the location). The second thing I noticed was that it was relatively empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. But hey, we like this place so let's make an order and grab our seat. I had ordered a double burger but was only delivered a single (which had no sauce on it), but they happily made a second patty and delivered it to me so I could add it to my burger. The fries were cold, which tells me they were made some time ago but sat a while in the hopper because of the lack of customers. My daughter bemoaned the thinness of the burger ("it's thinner than a McDonalds burger!") and she said the shakes taste different (I can neither confirm nor deny this since milk and I don't get along). The non-dairy shake was a decent enough facsimile. Overall the experience was mediocre, and definitely not worth Shake Shack prices ($38 for an adult and child to eat fast food). We noticed that Shake Shack has entered the food court business, and I will say that it is pretty good mall food, but not at a stand-alone location. With all of the "smash" burger options in town, we will be looking for other better and more affordable restaurants for our Saturdays out. read more

What do I like about this Shake Shack (SS)? Well, the location is absolutely beautiful, with a view of the lake in the back. The interior of the restaurant is nice as well....oh, and the fries are good. What do I dislike about SS? After about an hour, the fries are definitely not as good. The chicken shake burger and the shroom burger were wayyyyy too greasy. I had to throw it away unfortunately. I only received 5 greasy chicken bites on my order of 6 (which I also threw away). Really impressed with their chocolate coffee shake. But the patio is really the best thing they have going for them. They have a ping-pong table and Cornhole outside on the lake and the sound of the tiered water feature is really relaxing. Good place to read a book and contemplate the meaning of life. There's water and dog food bowls on top of the outside garbage can for fido or your d-o-g too so don't leave them at home!!! Taught mr. C how to play shuffleboard there tonight but that game is inside. This was the only one in Orlando that accepted online ordering. Had to use our BOGO offer for shack burgers before they expired so we decided to make the drive. It was worth it for the view and delicious food!! They were sadly out of sugar plum shakes, ran out of the cookies, and they also said they were out of black truffle sauce...so we ordered a side of cheese, and got both a side of cheese and surprise black truffle sauce. Not sure if it was a miscommunication between kitchen and ordering or what but we loved the black truffle sauce. And it was all good because they did charge us for the side of cheese. If you're out of one sauce I think substituting another should be free. IMO. And we ordered a shroom burger so split it and made our own stackers. This location boasts a lake view, shuffleboard inside and ping pong table outside. That table is precarious as it faces the lake. We had a great time eating and relaxing here. Great spot! read more

I came here a few months back with my girlfriend for dinner. The customers in front of us were pondering amongst themselves what "malt" was, which we were happy to tell them about. We informed them that it adds a distinctive flavor to the milkshake that we found quite pleasant and gave them the recommendation to give it a shot. However, the employee working the counter did not agree with that statement. She informed them that malt does not in fact change the flavor at all and instead makes the milkshake gritty. While I did not say anything at the time, I do not believe people are entitled to a blatantly incorrect opinion such as that. Even more so when it is an incorrectly stated, contradictory opinion. The icing on the metaphorical cake came after I ordered my food. When the employee asked for my name, she said "I wonder which version your name is!", which of course piqued my curiosity. As such, I asked her what she meant by that. To my surprise she informed me that "Peyton" is the guy version and "Payton" is the girl version. While I understand that my name is gender-neutral, I have never had someone say to my face that I have a woman's name. Needless to say, I will not be returning to a restaurant in which I was insulted in such a manner. While their food is quite delicious, I would prefer to frequent other restaurants where I know that my name will not be likened to a woman's name. read more

FIRST TIME/LAST TIME I've heard a ton of good about SS, so my son and I decided to stop in to this location. SERVICE: The cashier looked like she couldn't be bothered with taking my order. I ordered my burger with NO mayo or sauce, as I am intolerant to eggs; my burger has sauce on it. Luckily I am not DEATHLY allergic. Ultimately, though our food was ready pretty quickly, the cashier ended up screwing the order up and the lesser of all the things; misspelling my name EVEN AFTER I spelled it out for her. FOOD: Notwithstanding our ACTUAL order being screwed up (we didn't have the time to complain and have them remake) the food is subpar, nothing to write home about. We had just landed from traveling here for a trip and needed some food! My husband has been here before and likes it, so off we went! Small menu, which I like especially for a burger place! I got a regular burger with tomatoes, lettuce, onions. It was simple, but delicious. I also appreciate how they use beef without hormones or antibiotics. It is also served on a non-GMO bun. For vegans/vegetarians they have a veggie option as well! On the side I had the fries and they were good also. This location is so nice. The absolute worst customer service I think I've ever experienced in my life! The first impression is the person at the cash register and this young lady has ZERO personality. Forget service with a smile; no greeting and the driest monotone voice. At one point we just stood there in silence staring at each as I was in disbelief that this is where I was at this point in time. If I wasn't in a hurry I'd have left the food there and walked away. This is a spectacular Shake Shake location. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. The outdoor patio overlooking the lake is beautiful, soothing and extremely enjoyable. I ordered the double cheese burger with fries and my husband ordered the Shack Stack. The burgers are made with 100 percent Angus beef and they are organic and hormone free.
