This is my ultimate favorite fast food joint for burgers. I always go for the standard Shack Burger and cheese fries. The meat is a little salty but the juiciness of the meat, melted cheese, Shack sauce and soft and chewy bun bring it all together really well. Every time I go, I always end up inhaling the burger because it's so good. The crinkle fries are decent...nothing mind-blowing but I order them because for me they are a must when getting a burger. The location is great - the venue is right next to the water which provides a nice scenic view. I can see how parking can be a little tough when it gets busy, but we didn't have an issue. The burgers are a little steeper in price than your typical fast food burger place but the quality is so much better so it's well worth it. Thankfully, it's kind of a trip to make it out here. The Winter Park location opened on July 30, 2014, and is situated alongside a very picturesque Lake Killarney with an expansive outdoor patio space, lounge chairs and a fire pit. The Inside is pretty roomy as well with plenty of open table seating and large booths. One of my favorites is the SmokeShack. It's a cheese burger served with applewood smoked bacon, cherry peppers and shack sauce. Of course cheese fries are always mandatory whenever I visit. Although you can request a burger any way you like, the menu is simple. Offerings include The Shack Burger, Smoke Shack, Shroom Burger, Shack Stack and Hamburger. No stop to Shake Shack is complete without ordering one of their frozen treats. Everything from custards to concretes and milkshakes are available. Most locations do have a set menu, but there is always a monthly flavor and special flavors unique to each location. Unique to the Winter Park location is the Winters Wonderland concrete. Five percent of all proceeds from this concrete will be donated to the BASE camp children's cancer foundation. I have been frequenting the Shack since they opened in Miami, and they are one of my favorite burger joints...anywhere. The parking situation here is the worst of the worst, like everyone says! This will be the main factor why I probably will not return. The burger was good, I have had the one in NYC and it is exactly the same. Very flavorful but the bun turns really soggy after a while. Fries are equally flavorful. So far in Orlando this burger place is the best tasting burger in town. They have to do something about the parking since there are a handful of other stores that haven't even opened up yet and once they do it'll be even a stickier situation! read more

I just don't know about this almost $7.00 burger. It really is similar to a Burger-Fi or 5 Guys. No complaints, but no "gee, help me, I'm hooked on this one" attributes either. The fries are the on the fat side which is not my particular choice, but they came out hot. As they should for $2.60 ish cost. I do hate getting older. You will too eventually if it hasn't happened yet. Mainly because you'll "remember when" fries were only 25¢ and the shake was 30¢. Granted that was back when burgers were invented and truly a different (and lesser) breed of "fast food". This meal for two; two burgers & fries one beer and a shake cost us over $35.00! WTF? Grass fed beef? Whatever, I'm sure that must be the BS science difference. But when the heck did a potato get so rich? Excellent place for burgers, fries, and shakes! The parking situation is a little frustrating and the seating situation is too. I saw quite a few people who appeared to have gone to reserve large groups of tables for friends/family that were waiting in a 20 minute line, while there are other people with their food already looking for tables to sit. I wish the restaurant would do something to keep people from hoarding tables when they haven't ordered food yet. Otherwise, the food is delicious and the cheese fries are awesome! Not sure what all the fuss is about--this place is incredibly overpriced for mediocre food, ugh! On top of that we have been here twice, once to try the burgers and another to try the hotdogs and both times received very poor customer service. The burgers were decent during our first visit, but truly nothing to write home about. The fries were overcooked. The second time we came we tried their hotdogs, milkshakes and concretes. The quality of the hotdogs was underwhelming & their price totally unjustified. The concretes were very small and the Shack Attack concrete had way too many mix-ins--as if someone just dumped a bowl of candy into a small bit of custard. The milkshakes were good and were a generous size but completely forgettable. We don't plan to eat here again.the read more

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love a hot, juicy shake shack burger. Add the shack sauce and I'm completely satisfied. But be prepared to spend a little more than you'd like. Shake Shack is expensive! I got a double cheese burger, fries, and a small drink and spent $15 easily. I come here once every month or two for the craving but hate the way it hits my wallet. This location is awesome. They offer outdoor seating with an awesome view of Lake Killarney. Ping pong table outside offers some fun while waiting. Service is always friendly. Great food. Great views. Corn hole and ping pong? Bonus. I've been here a few times, though I usually avoid burger joints because I do not eat beef. They have a Veggie Burger that is way better and less greasy feeling than Burger Fi's Quinoa burger. You can order your burger as a lettuce wrap and forgo the bun if you're into that sort of thing. If you saved your bun calories, go ahead and get the custard. You will not regret it. My brother let me sample his Key Lime Pie (a piece of key lime pie with the most amazing graham cracker crust mixed into frozen custard...OMG...I died) and I was immediately hit with a bad case of food envy as I ate my vanilla and cookie dough concrete. The food itself is nothing to write home about. There are already a hundred places to get a gourmet burger on the upper end of the fast food price scale, and this place isn't anything special. The burger is always decent, but too greasy. The shakes are far better than most shakes I can find around town. Their chocolate actually tastes like chocolate, which is a rarity these days. I'm baffled that with 8 people on staff including a manager, there was so much chaos & unfortunately, I was the only one that didn't receive their food even though the entire staff kept looking at me. They were well aware that I was waiting for my food & could care less. I really don't expect much from the service in fast food these days because all these restaurants keep hiring are a bunch of lazy teenagers that don't like to work. I give this place 3 stars only because there are really not healthy options, and I think every restaurant should have something light as an option. However, if you are looking for a great, greasy burger (or chicken sandwich) this place is pretty damn good. My family went all together, on a Saturday afternoon thinking it would be packed and we're pleasantly surprised to be able to sit outside in their adorable patio overlooking a beautiful Maitland lake. The place was clean, staff was really friendly. Food came out quick and I will say, our neighbors had some kind of an issue with their food (not sure what it was) but the manager came out and seemed to handle the situation quickly, quietly and to everyone's satisfaction) that tells you something about the place. They care about making their customers happy! We split some shakes and while over $5 ea seems quiet high to me for a shake, they were very creamy and rich - I'd go again just for that! At this point, most people are familiar with what Shake Shack offers. As such, this review is mainly a review of the location of this particular establishment. My fiancé summed it up well when he asked me, "How do you feel about a burger that's not unique to Orlando but with a killer view?" Um, count me in. This Shake Shack location is situated alongside Orlando's picturesque Lake Killarney, with an expansive outdoor patio space where you can soak up the sun (or shade) and chow down on Shack novelties. This location has a staff that is personable, friendly and serves you with a smile. My only word of warning for this locale is that the parking lot is pretty awful - but that's the only negative quality. As one can imagine, being in the same shopping center as Trader Joe's, you're likely going to have to do a few laps, walk a little further or be the car waiting with it's turn signal on. First off, the location is right on the water and provides a beautiful backdrop to enjoy your delicious food. However, parking can be a hassle as the parking lot is small and is shared with a busy Trader Joe's. We were able to order right away and found a booth to sit without problem. Shake shack is pricey in general, we ordered a Shake Stack $9.49 (their 'Shroom burger on top of a cheeseburger) and a single Smoke Stack $6.69. The burgers were both delicious, the crust on the burger patty paired with the soft potato bun cannot be beat. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy soft in the middle. The cheese and bacon were a little much for me, I preferred the regular fries. The most perfect burger spot located in the most beautiful shopping plaza Winter Park! Shake Shack is a very unique burger joint which somehow manages to make you feel like you're staying somewhat healthy/responsible while still enjoying a burger! I believe their meats are all organic and all ingredients in their foods are all natural. I love this specific location because what more would you want than to enjoy a delicious, fresh burger and fries right on the lake. Don't forget to finish it off with a amazing frozen custard!! Very nice ambience at this restaurant. The only negative which I would say is an ongoing and very obvious issue is the parking situation. I know there will be those that will disagree but I think everything about Shake Shack is all hype. It just didn't really impress my husband and I. Honestly, I would've much preferred to have dined at B&B Junction or BurgerFi as I appreciate that they have more than one non red meat option. I won't go into the parking thing because it is what it is. I will say that the line to order moved quite quickly. The menu is all up on the wall--- burgers, hot dogs, fries, frozen custards, concretes , drinks (alcoholic too) and even treats for the pooches! There were a zillion employees (well not a zillion but A LOT) bustling around behind the counter and all registers were taking orders which helped speed up the process. I literally felt like I was screaming the order to our guy. Poor thing looked like he was reading my lips and concentrating. It was SO loud. But he got everything down and then repeated our order with no mistakes. Now seating was crazy. Probably because of the time of the day but I'm getting a sense it's packed regardless. Most of the indoor seating was occupied so I walked outside towards the back. There's a magnificent lakeside view but seating was a hot commodity. I ended up grabbing some seating between 2 parties at a picnic table while my husband waited for our order. And waited. Understandably so because it was packed. I think it took about 10 minutes or so. My husband ordered the smokestack burger which came with applewood bacon, chopped cherry peppers and shacksauce. I ordered the 'Shroom burger which was a fried portabello mushroom stuffed with muenster and cheddar cheeses topped with lettuce and tomato and shacksauce. We also had 1 order of regular fries and 1 order of fries with cheese. Chelsea W. said it best. The fries were reminiscent of Oreida crinkle fries. Totally expected more. I didn't care for the cheese sauce on the fries. Tasted sorta velveetaish.... The actual "shroom burger was meh. I think it was just too much cheese (yes there can be such a thing) oozing out of the mushroom. My husband was underwhelmed by his burger but I also think he had super high expectations because of the crowds. He said he didn't understand the hype and preferred Five Guys. Also, it didn't help us enjoy our meal when we were being watched like a hawk for our seats. Kinda like the parking situation. I'm glad we were able to try this place out but I think maybe I'll stick with dessert if I ever go again. Don't believe the hype. Food: Very average burgers that don't match the price. The fries were nothing special, as I saw the cooks heave a huge 10 pound bag of frozen fries from the freezer to the vat area. Nothing special, just a Sysco product, I'm sure. Shake: I got the chocolate malt. It was tasty and chocolaty, but at just under $6, not worth it. Ambiance: The interior is quite nice. The exterior view is quite nice. The lack of seats outside is not quite nice. I'm sure their rent reflects the lake frontage, but there was hardly enough seating outside to take advantage of it. Service: Well, this is where it gets shaky (pun intended). Ordered rather quickly, as others have noted, but then the wait game began. This is no joke, I'm sure they had at least 15 employees behind the counter, it was swarming with staff, but more than half of them looked lost. There was no clear management in place. Countless burgers were mounting up under the heat lamp with only one person sending out all the orders. Coordination of burgers, fries, and drinks was not present. The guy that was responsible to announce the orders didn't seem to understand that he would need to use his voice and make sure the whole order was there. Hmmm I made a trek to Orlando for some business and stopped at Shake Shack for dinner. I actually managed to park immediately in the parking lot with plenty of spots, maybe I was lucky because it was storming outside...who knows? I hope they fix the street light and add turn signals, because the traffic to turn was a safety hazard. When I made it inside I was impressed with the decor and also the outside-area at Shake Shack. The menu seemed pretty standard. I ordered a single steakburger with fries and a drink. My total was around $10-$12 if I remember correctly. I had some sticker shock when I saw the portion-size of the food. It reminded me of being Japan - where people don't eat huge portions. Being in the USA for some time, I have grown accustomed to the excesses of being an American again and wasn't ready for the tiny beverage cup I received and small burger. In the future I would ask for a double for sure. The french fries were nothing to brag about in my opinion. The burger was flavorful, I was trying to compare it to another burger I have had. For a moment I grabbed flavors of Steak N Shake and for an odd second a taste of a cheeseburger at McDonald's. Although it was a definitely a tasty burger, I could have went to Red Robin and had unlimited steak fries and free refills on my drink for the same price so I think I prefer Red Robin over Shake Shack anyday. Bottom line - Shake Shack is a good spot to grab a burger ....as long as you know what you are getting. When it comes to burgers, Orlando is probably the most underrated town I am familiar with. No matter what side of town you are in, there is usually a great burger place a few minutes away. While Shake Shack is a good addition to the burger crowd, its got some fierce competition out here. The first thing to know is of course the parking. At this point with all the construction going on over there, the other reviews are spot on. If you are short on patience, its probably wise to just avoid Shake Shack until they finish up everything in the shopping center or at least go earlier or later in the day when its not as crowded. The next thing to know is the burger itself. A Shake Shack burger is well seasoned with high quality beef and a tasty bun. I have never had a poorly prepared burger at a Shake Shack anywhere. The fries are just ok and the ice cream is great. Shake Shack is definitely a place where you can get food that tastes good. I was also pleasantly surprised by how nice the location is. The view of the lake is really nice and the overall atmosphere is great for a burger joint. So why are there so many low reviews of this place? Well, there are couple of reasons. First, a Shake Shack burger is NOT one of the monster thickburgers that you have probably become accustomed to here in Orlando. While I don't think they are quite as small as everyone states, they definitely aren't the monster burgers you can get every else in the city. Second, A Shake Shack burger is not cheap for what you are getting. Indeed, you are paying the same price (and in some cases a couple bucks more) for a smaller burger. If Shake Shack shaved a buck or two off its prices, it could be one of the top places to grab a burger in town. As it stands, I have to knock it down a bit given the price for what you get. The prices here wouldn't make you blink if you are in New York, but they just aren't that competitive here in central Florida. So what's the final verdict? I must admit, this has been one of the trickier reviews for me to write. I like Shake Shack and I would definitely grab a burger from there whenever I am in the area. However, I have to acknowledge that the current parking situation and prices are as advertised by the other reviewers. With that in mind, if you are looking for a tasty burger and aren't too concerned about price, I think you will enjoy Shake Shack. If you are worried about price and don't feel like circling a parking lot for 10 minutes, then you should probably head elsewhere (at least for now). read more

Steer clear - for now. Burgers are ok. Ice cream is almost as good as my homemade stuff but more expensive than if I made it myself. Parking is a nightmare! I would love to know what officials approved a plaza with a Shake Shack, a Trader Joe's, and room for 10 other businesses with such a small parking lot. But here's the biggest problem with this Shake Shack - they hired bodies into positions and it appears as though they didn't even train these poor people. I actually felt sorry for them by the time we were done. You see, we had to deal with these order takers three different times during our visit; once to order our dinner, the second time to find out why we were charged for a full bottle of wine when we asked for a glass, and last to try and order dessert. What a fiasco! When we ordered our dinner and ordered a glass of wine, the young lady pointed to x bottle and said, this one? I said sure (the menu does not list the wines as glass or bottle nor does it list any prices on the wine - just the brands). When she printed out our receipt, that's when we were mulled over by the $57 total! WHAT? The hubby returned to the cashier to find out what we were charged for and that's when she tells us she ordered us a bottle of wine. We specifically asked for a glass. She admits that she should have told us wine was not available by the glass. We have her remove it from the order and we get our money back. But based on the poor 'water' decision I made to replace my glass of wine, I would have paid any amount of money not to drink the water - literally. Shake Shack has this cute goldish looking unmarked beer tap that is where you help yourself to water. The only problem is that I have accidentally drank public pool water that tasted better than this garbage they are pawing off as H2O. DO NOT DRINK IT! Your taste buds will burn for days. That stuff is so disgusting - and who knows - it is intentional to drive beverage sales? Basically your only options at Shake Shack if you don't drink soda is to drink alcohol. But, as we found out, wine was only available by the bottle. Or so we were told... During our third encounter at the counter, we tried to order some ice cream. Oy Vey is all I can say! We were trying to order one size of cup that we saw on the menu, the cashier would call it something else that we didn't see on the menu. We said no, we want the such and such, she would again repeat something not even on the menu. This went on for 3 and a half painful, hair-pulling minutes. Finally she realizes that the portion listed on the menu on the wall is not the same thing on her computer. We finally get the size ordered that we were asking for and step aside to wait. While we are waiting, what do we hear... another cashier indicate that there are only certain brands of wine available by the glass and the others only available by the bottle. Why did the other cashier that we first met not explain that? See what I mean by the training comment? Shake Shack needs to come back to town and train these employees. If the basics haven't even been covered than I worry what the heck is going on with the food. We may give them another chance in about a year but I agree with some of the others - the burger was no better than Burger Fi (although parking is a nightmare over there too). read more

My boyfriend and I went after after a trip to Trader Joes and we loved it! The burgers are so good and juicy, we also got a side of fries to share. Along with our meals we obvious had to get some shakes he got vanilla and i got Carmel they we both amazing. It's also nice because they have complementary water set up for you so you can take as much as you want. Some of the tables were dirty that's why I'm not giving 5 stars. You also have the option to sit outside with tables they have set up and the view is gorgeous. Over all nice place. read more
