WOW!! This place definitely surprised me for a few reasons: 1. Love the ambience coz they have an outdoor patio seating 2. Service was great and quick. There's a QR code on the table to see the menu or you can ask for the regular menu 3. Love the minimalistic menu esp for an Asian restaurant. So I know that whatever is in the menu, these are their top kotvi dishes they offer 4. I ordered the beef rib with flat noodle soup and it was divine. The flavor was so fresh, clean, honey, beefy and spot on to my liking It was PURE DELICIOUSNESS!! Great about of meat in the ribs and it was so tender. 5. The garlic cucumber was so refreshing. Love that the garlic is so infused in the flavor of this dish and the cucumber was crispy and not soggy. Parking can be tricky as half of it is occupied by the restaurants nearby but there's a lot of street parking. I will definitely come back and try some of their other offerings. read more

I came in with a group of 11, including 3 young children, for lunch a few Sundays ago. We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to seat us right away, and the food came out fairly quickly despite our large party. Some highlights were the garlic cucumber appetizer (honestly even better than Din Tai Fung!), the braised pork belly noodle, and the golden sour and spicy lamb noodle soup. The service was exceptional. The staff checked on us often, kept our ice water pitchers constantly refilled, and, knowing we had young children, brought out bowls and plastic utensils without us even having to ask. Shake Shake Fresh Noodles in a complex in Downtown SLO, my wife and I were in town for a trip around July 4th. The complex parking lot was so busy we had to find parking at least a block away. We were able to get a table without a reservation, but we had a little wait and after we got seated there were a bunch of parties waiting. My wife and I each ordered their noodle bowls, their noodles were made fresh and the staff turned around the orders in a timely manner. Hand-pulled noodles in SLO was something we'd never have planned, but a delightful surprise. We were stopping by for a couple hours and needed something fast. As I grew up eating at establishments serving noodles like these, I figured it would be just right. To my surprise it was not only efficient, but came with everything that is usually deemed irrelevant. Service filled with smiles and modern amenities. It took 5 minutes to order via QR code -- most of that time was us figuring what we want -- and half that time for the food to be served. 麻辣肉醬拌麵 (Signature Minced Pork Noodle) and 紅燒牛肉麵 (Braised Beef Noodle Soup) were both childhood favourites of mine, and they did not disappoint. The noodles were bouncy, every bite had a springy response, a texture sought after but extremely hard to produce well. The minced pork sauce was enticingly savoury, with fresh cucumbers and herbs to balance the palate. Beef was tender and bursted with flavour. There was clear effort put into such simple yet bountiful dishes. The servers came to check on us 5 times throughout the meal, with that and the QR code, it'd be hard to ever feel like you were not attended to. After a few days of heavy foods, my family and I decided to reset with some good noodle soup and were pleasantly surprised with Shake Shake Fresh Noodle! There was a short wait and a few groups waiting- my group of 3 decided to wait for an inside table but other groups were able to be seated outside in the patio next to heat warmers. They had a QR code at each table and it was pretty straightforward. I was disappointed to see that the potato salad was sold out as I was hoping to have it - we chose instead to have the garlic cucumbers and marinated daikon. The appetizers were ok - garlic cucumber could have used a little bit more seasoning, whereas the daikon could've used a little less. The noodles are where they shine - all three of us had fantastic choices: house special beef bone noodle soup, golden sour & spicy lamb noodle soup and the chili oil dry noodles. Lots of meat, bouncy noodles and flavorful broths! What more can you ask! 100% recommend this restaurant, especially on cold nights or, if you're traveling and need some clear broth to soothe an overwhelmed stomach (we had had too much fried food recently). Found this place and decided to try it! The restaurant is very clean and modern. The plaza is nice too -- lots of shops around. I didn't realize they close in the afternoon ( not sure what time start closing after lunch) but they reopen at 5PM for dinner. Servers are very nice and friendly! We ordered the chili oil wontons, and they were really good -- flavorful but not too strong like some other places. I also loved sitting by the window while it was raining. Saw the noodle chef stretching the fresh noodles behind the bar as we moved through the dining room to the patio. We enjoyed the flat garlic noodles with tofu and the "potato salad" ($8.95 ", fermented potato and carrots) and the fermented radish ($8.95, soy and black vinegar / delicious). Discovered this fine establishment in Yelp of course! It was a short drive from our hotel where we were staying 1 night enroute from Monterey to Beverly Hills. The photos and reviews looked great so we stopped in and enjoyed a wonderful meal, fresh, delicious, home made noodles, and excellent service and comfortable clean ambiance (casual). We had the House Special Beef Bone Noodle Soup and was delivered in a large bowl that we could both share. Our server cut up the Beef which slid off the bone, was cooked to perfection, moist and very tasty. We also shared the Garlic Cucumber Salad. Owner was very nice as were the servers. We wanted to return for breakfast the next morning but they open at 11am and we getting on the road by 8am. Next time in SLO we will visit Shake Shake Fresh Noodle for certain!! Being from the Bay Area, it's a little hard to find any good Asian food in the area so this definitely impressed me and brought me back to home! The noodles were so good too! The chili oil wontons had most of the sauce on the bottom but dipping it and taking a bite, they were amazing. The wontons were my favorite! These are some of the best dumplings I have ever eaten. The "potato salad" was unique and absolutely delicious. And what's better than in house made noodles?! We will definitely be back. The staff was so friendly and genuine. We had a lovely conversation about the dumpling filling. They mix in a little pork belly to keep it juicy. The price of this noodle house is a little higher than other Chinese restaurants but the meat quality was great and very tasty. We came here for dinner. Four of us shared the Chili oil wontons, House beef roll, spicy noodles, the pork belly rice bowl, stewed lamb and carrot noodles, and House special beef rib noodle soup. My husband loved the spicy wontons. I liked the signature beef noodle soup the best. The beef rib was tender and perfectly cooked. It's delicious, but it's a little saltier than I prefer. One negative point was that our flat noodles were a bit mushy and they stuck together. You have to use scissors to cut the noodles. Also, the flat noodles lost their structure and their texture. Therefore, we don't recommend the flat noodles. However, the food here is something you cannot get at other places, particularly in SLO. read more
