The menu is limited but everything we tried was delicious. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they acknowledged it with a lovely handwritten card. He tried one of their curated cocktails but found it too sweet. Our server brought him a Manhattan after asking his favorite whiskey. The crab appetizer was a complex delicious mix of flavors. The risotto was buttery and rich while the Haikkado scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pattypan squash was a little too bitter for me. The place is small but the tables are far enough apart for privacy.

Made rvsp for my bestie's Sunday brunch about a week prior. The staffs were all welcoming and exceptional service. They comped my bestie's drink and gave us free desserts. I recall if was chocolate ice cream with berries & bourbon glaze topped with walnuts. I was surprised we were the only guests in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this for brunch date. I would like to come back to try their other items on the other menus. Smoked salmon Benedict was amazing! Egg was perfectly poached and the salmon was so fresh! My friends said their food tasted so good. A really good crab roll & delicious burger. We all agreed this was a great brunch spot. Staffs were kind and made it such a special memory. Come early to find parking or valet next door Palladian Hotel. We were there for under 90 min, so our valet was $12.

Super clean modern vibe inside, open kitchen which is really fun and really attentive service. Hamachi crudo is a must try! All entrees were great too. We went for a v-day weekend and it was bustling and fun.

This Shaker + Spear review is long overdue, but better late than never! Shaker + Spear is more high end than my usual, and also more seafood-focused than my usual. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food was great. I tried the oysters, octopus, crab avocado, and seared scallops - everything was presented nicely and tasted delicious. While this isn't necessarily my style, I would definitely come back if in the area again!

I was stopping over in Seattle on my way to a trip to Africa. I found this great restaurant near my hotel. First of all the service was excellent. Warmly greeted at the entrance and my waiter Alexis did a great job. I had the Chive Omelette, which was very good. Very casual and would recommend!

We stayed at the Kimpton the restaurant is located in, so got to enjoy breakfast and dinner here. For breakfast, the waygu steak and eggs was tender, cooked to perfection and very filling. Even the classic two egg breakfast was executed well, and very filling with a healthy amount of crispy potatoes and toast. The only complaint was the sausage was barely warm. For dinner, we tried the clams which also had chorizo, a tasty kimchi broth and plenty of toasted bread for dipping into the broth. The brussel sprouts were nicely charred but perhaps overdone on whatever sauce they were in, which added a bit too much saltiness for my likeing, and same went for the burnt bread sauce the salmon was cooked in that added too much saltiness. Service was good and attentive for each meal. Ambiance was basic for breakfast but for dinner they have dim lighting and candles at the table, which is a nice touch.

We came here on Valentine's Day to celebrate my birthday, and WOW -- what an unforgettable dinner. From the moment we walked in, they acknowledged our special occasion and made us feel genuinely celebrated. It wasn't just a quick "happy birthday" -- it felt intentional. The service was absolutely top notch. Our server guided us through the menu with fantastic recommendations, helped us choose the perfect starter, suggested thoughtful drink pairings, and made the entire experience feel effortless and elevated. Now let's talk about the food. We started with the Grilled Prawns and the Seafood Tostada as a special treat. The grilled prawns came with carrot coconut curry, hearts of palm, fresno chili, and kaffir lime oil -- and let me tell you, that carrot coconut curry was fire. Smoky, rich, perfectly balanced. The hearts of palm complemented the prawns beautifully. Of the two starters, this was our favorite. The Seafood Tostada was stunning -- beautifully plated, even down to the volcanic salt-dipped lime. A true visual moment. For our entrée, we had the 16oz Branzino with fried potatoes... and I am still thinking about it a week later. Absolutely delicious. No notes. Chef's kiss. The skin was perfectly crispy, the fish was juicy and flavorful, and the fried potatoes were seasoned to complement it flawlessly. Worth. Every. Penny. I would order it again in a heartbeat. We don't usually go for dessert, but since it was a special occasion we had the Brown Butter Kombucha Crème Brûlée -- and I'm so glad we did. Smooth, rich, decadent without being overly sweet. Heavenly. This was hands down the best meal of our special weekend and the highlight of our food adventure. They know how to celebrate you. They know how to deliver exceptional service. And they absolutely know how to cook. We'll be back.

Came in on a Friday night for a bite and ended up at the bar next to the chef's area. Absolutely incredible work by chef Alex, who mesmerized me with his attention to detail and flawless execution! They sent me some cute oysters on the house which was very sweet and Adrienne took great care of me during the meal. I normally don't order salmon but WOW the salmon was so decadent, moist, and flavorful and the cabbage somehow also vied for the spotlight. I think the texture combinations of really was phenomenal and I love how each dish was so carefully crafted. The hamachi crudo had small slices of an orange vegetable between--I couldn't make out exactly what it was but it cut the acidity of the dish absolutely perfectly. This may be my favorite hamachi crudo! The service was paced a bit slow which I don't mind in general but being a solo diner left a bit less to do between dishes, however the view of chef Alex was quite the entertainment! Well executed all around with bold and fantastic flavors and textures. A true delight!

Lovely interior and charming service personnel; you forget that it's a hotel restaurant. Unfortunately the food and drink remind you by their average taste. The hazelnut espresso martini was well chilled, but not particularly strong. The biscuits and gravy were well presented, but the gravy was lukewarm at best and the andouille sausage was not sautéed enough to release its customary punch. Honestly, it looked a sliced hot dog. The biscuit had a good flavor and texture but should have been better toasted. The hash was a large portion, with a good flavor profile; the lemony sautéed kale really spruced it up. However, for an extra $8 one expects more than a few shreds of duck confit.

Nice bar snacks and nice cocktails. Lovely wee place in the hotel for happy hour that I will go to again.

Found this place as we made an impromptu stay in the city. This was a very cute little restaurant. We had the skirt steak and eggs with a pressed juice, biscuits and gravy with a pineapple mimosas. They were both done very well, the steak was cooked too long and our waiter noticed and made the correction. Loved the very attentive service, very polite and friendly. We found great parking near where we could also explore pikes market again.

Loved the food and service at Shaker + Spear along with the open kitchen design and ambiance. I had the Ora Salmon which was spectacular along with the PNW Oysters, Crispy Mushrooms, and Focaccia bread. The drinks were also top notch, especially the Sunny Days Ahead which was so good I needed to order a second glass! The service was terrific and all of my colleagues who dined there with me had a similar positive experience and were excited about returning!

    PNW Sando (Steelhead) $25. Delicious.
    Charles H.

Recently discovered that Steelhead is one of my favorite fishes, and they have it here! It's featured in the "PNW Sando" ($25) as well as a $42 dinner entree. I recently enjoyed the sandwich for a quiet relaxing mid-week lunch at the bar. Was a little disappointed that my server couldn't figure out the draft beer situation, so I settled for bottled beer. The sandwich was amazing. Perhaps the best dish I had over an 8 day trip to the PNW. The thick, perfect bacon was almost superfluous. I might pull it out and appreciate it all by itself!

Remarkably, it was a side dish--a testament to how Chef Rachael treats every single component on the plate with meticulous care. When community members ask for recommendations that deliver both an exceptional meal and an outstanding beverage program, this is always the first destination I suggest. The menu beautifully balances signature cuts of steak with a thoughtful understanding that other proteins matter, offering expertly prepared chicken, fresh fish, and dedicated vegan main options. I truly believe "the bites" and "the sides" are equally treated as stars, and I always go back for the seasonal salad and crispy potatoes. The beverage program is equally legendary, offering an extraordinary opportunity to try rare whiskies from all over the world and different eras, where every single pour carries its own unique story. When I brought my partner in for his birthday, the owner asked a few questions of his whiskey interests, and customized a flight for him. It is a nicer, upscale restaurant that remarkably retains a deeply grounded community feel, and in my experience local recurring guests are remembered with genuine hospitality.

Bread and butter, bread crust is over cooked and supper dry. Butter dip : the garlic had burned flavor and the vinegar in it was a bit too unpleasant. Pork belly very under cook and chewy. Clam was okay. Water: I took a sip of my cup and instantly spit it back into the cup, taste like fishy or eggy or disgusting unwashed cup ... Main dishes: supper disappointing steak , supper chewy , not pleasant experience at all for a $200+ single order Pork chop, the sauce was interesting but it was also very chewy and nothing special. We booked a table in advance to catch an early bite, but the Happy Hour menu looked so good that we decided to sit at the bar instead. We ordered the Tuna Tartare, Clams, Pork Ribs, Grilled Eggplant, and Fennel Pickles from the Happy Hour menu, plus the Roasted Olives with extra Sourdough Bread from the main menu. Honestly, every single dish was delicious. The absolute highlights for me were the olives, tuna, pickles, and the sourdough! Here's a quick breakdown of what we had: Sourdough & Herb Butter: Absolute perfection. Crisp on the outside, chewy and moist on the inside. The herb butter was heavenly! Roasted Olives: The ultimate cocktail pairing. Tuna Tartare: The addition of cucumber made it taste so fresh and vibrant. Fennel Pickles: So addicting--I'm still thinking about them! Pork Ribs: Loved the Gochujang (Korean chili paste) sauce, which felt familiar and comforting. The flavor was great, though it had a slight pork aroma that might appeal more to those who enjoy a richer meat flavor. The cocktails were fantastic across the board. Now I completely understand why this place was constantly packed--unbeatable prices, top-tier food quality, and excellent service. Finding great food always sets the mood for a perfect day, and this place definitely made my day!

What I loved: Oh man, every dish was delightful. I found something to savor and repeat in each of the dishes we were served. From the sweetness of the heirloom tomatoes, to the creamy burrata, from the crispy potatoes, to the fresh peas and everything in between. Our least favorite, at the table was the mushroom Angnolotti, inconsistent from bite to bite. The presentation of the Carrot & Tahini dip was a bit haphazard compared to the rest of the dishes served, but the flavor was still lovely. Why I loved it: The service was unparalleled, comfortable yet professional and quick to offer recommendations for our larger party. The decorations and quaint spaces truly welcoming, and the food, excellent. Cost: High ($40+ per person)

Upon our arrival the host was very accommodating as we wanted to bring in balloons and cake. They were very friendly and the food was amazing that we weren't able to take photos before devouring the meal. The place had a very cozy feel. 10/10 would recommend and would come back to try more. Must try: Lamb Kebab

Had a nice dinner here…read more Highlights were the pita, all of the dips, the seafood stew, and the fried calamari. The chermoula sauce for the calamari was delicious. We personally did not care for the flavor or thigh meat chicken kebab but it was presented nicely and the sauce was flavorful. The steak was nice and cooked just right but could have used some finishing salt. We also had 3 cocktails. 2 of them were delicious. One which is not in the photos was called ouz operator and I simply did not enjoy it, at all, matter of personal taste. Server didn't ask how everything was or if we liked it, and I thought that was a bit odd. Our server was friendly but she was also busy with a lot of tables and our interactions felt more quick and business like. A couple times we needed something I had to make eye contact to get attention. Inside was quite nice. Simple. We had a booth by the window and it was just right. Overall a very nice time if you want this style of food.
