When you go to Shakey's you know what you're coming in for- the sports bar atmosphere, the pizza with sweet marinara sauce, the mojos and chicken and the salad bar to make you feel less guilty (although you probably throw some Ranch on your salad so it kinda voids their nutritional value!). The pizzas I like best here are their non traditional offerings. The chorizo and jalapeño, the Hawaiian and the pepperoni/jalapeño one are the ones that I seem to enjoy best. Why these? Because they're not "authentic" to begin with, so it's not like you compare them to the pizza at your favorite place. Stick to these types or approach the more traditional selections knowing they will taste about 3 notches sweeter than you're used to and you'll be fine. The lunch buffet has been stocked every time I come by. The staff is always circling to check on you and to clear dirty dishes. Need more ketchup for the mojos, raise a hand and they find you quick. How about a little hot sauce for the chicken, find someone and they will get it for you in a second. Great service and a good selection at the AYCE counter makes for a good choice for a quick drive by lunch. Side note, their 25% of the receipts for fundraising nights is very generous and makes this place a very good place to choose for club/team fundraisers, if you happen to be in that decision making role for your organization. read more

I have great memories of this place as a kid. Someone told me this location is adjacent to a corporate office of theirs and that it was different. I can say the food here was better than my memories. Maybe I am in the minority but I only go to Shakey's when it's a gathering for a large group. Shakey's never comes up as the answer to the proverbial question "Where do you want to go for lunch/dinner?" It is what it is: a place where kids can go and keep busy and fill up on pizza and soda while the grown folk order pitchers of beer and watch sports and hang out. Certain evenings and weekends get busy. Think MNF or play off games (for any sport). The food is not horrible, but it's not the healthiest either. I was pleasantly surprised with a veggie supreme pizza on thick crust I had recently. It was quite tasty. The game room in the back is a money pit for parents...ugggghhh!!! Kids get so excited and their eyes get wide as the machines spit out the loooong strip of prize tickets. Where else can you "win" a basketball sized tennis ball that is of no use at all for the equivalent of spending $10-20 on the games? Somehow telling your kids you can go DTLA and get 10 fold the prizes at half the expense does not have the same allure. Darn kids! read more

This location is closest to my work, so we all decided to check it out on our lunch break. Thinking that it wouldn't be busy, we were wrong! Many others also had pizza/mojos on the brain so ordering took awhile and we had to eat really fast. As far as selection, it's the same as other locations. Choose wisely as prices can add up, especially if you get the BunchALunch and drink like I did. Also, check your dishware and utensils as I received multiple dirty plates/cups. The cashier was nice about it but they should be checking those things more closely as it can really ruin one's appetite. Buffet offerings are plentiful but the area needs more attention as some things were completely empty and messy. Overall it was a good experience and I may return soon! read more

Thursday night 04/20 we had a fundraiser which it turns out great the managers Brenda and Henry always take care of our organization arranging out our fundraisers they help out in the community their customer service goes above and beyond to help me sometimes to last minute reservations to shakeys fun nights they never say no to helping out the other Anthony who is another manager was extremely helpful. Everyone here is super amazing I will continue to bring business to them. This location always has good vibes the food has great quality the salad bar is always looking amazing makes you want to eat. I had my daughter's birthday celebration here and was very pleased. The manager was very sweet and staff were attentive. A bit slow on the cleanup part but overall good. The food came out super hot and on time. The only complaint I have is that I was told I had two hours and couldn't add more people because of space. Supposedly the tables next to us were reserved however not one person occupied them while we were there. read more

This Shakey's is pretty good. I ain't gonna lie, every time I come, the pitchers of beer are always just so darn good, I'll tell ya! After having a few pitchers, the good food is even better! Oh and don't forget the chicken and potatoes that's where my money is going before I leave. I like coming for the baseball games. It's convenient when you got the kids that don't want to watch the game. I just give them money to go play on the games, and boom, there's my babysitter for a while lol and the servers and cashier's always seem happy to be at work, I can appreciate that. If I could give this location NEGATIVE FIVE STARS I would. Very unprofessional behavior from the staff here. Ordered a Large PCM (large pizza, 8pcs Chicken and mojos) and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived on time and was told to wait for my chicken. No problem until I checked my pizza and it looked soggy and cold. Very unacceptable behavior from this location. For spending over $50 on my food I told the manager that the pizza did not look eatable. Instead of offering to refund my money and an apology she tells me they can remake my food. I didnt want my food remade, just wanted it to be done correctly the first time. I dont mind paying so much for quality food but when the quality of said food isnt to par then I do have an issue. Save your money and go elsewhere. I hope that they at least donated the order I refused. read more

Great for kids! Good for fundraising opportunities! Shakey's fundraisers are a great way to bring groups together, and to bring parents and friends to support your cause. I hold fundraisers for me HS band here at least once or twice a year. Our band is small, but we always get a decent amount of money back from Shakey's and that pays for daily supplies, and goes towards uniforms. Shakey's gives your group 25% of the total food sales minus food tax and beverages. They also send the group contact a coupon for a free 1-topping medium pizza. Not a bad deal. Ambience 4/5 Very energetic. In the early evenings there's always a group of little kids running around. There is an arcade where kids can win tickets on some games. Kids (and adults) can then trade in tickets for various useless trinkets and toys. Thankfully, there is also a beer and wine bar for the parents. Service 4/5 The staff is always very nice, and I've never had a complaint about the service here. Staff clean tables very soon after patrons leave, and the restaurant is always clean. Manager is always really nice when handling our fundraiser. Parking 5/5 Big lot to park in and it's never full. Don't trip. Food 4/5 Not the best pizza I've ever had but it gets the job done. Firehouse pizza: I always get this. Thin crust pizza with spicy sausage, basil, onions, pepperoni, and other things. Really good balance of flavors. Mojos: Just the right amount of crispy outside and fluffy inside. Chicken strips: Dip them in their scorchin' hot sauce. It's not bad, but definitely not very spicy. Overall 4/5 Yeah! A decent spot. If it wasn't for fundraiser for my daughter softball team I wouldn't come here. I only come here once a year to support her softball league. The place is small and couldn't accommodate all the guest that attend to support the league. Pizza thin or pan style has WAY too much sauce, for those who like sauce on their pizza then great but this sauce is just blah. Chicken is a bit greasy and no meat really on the chicken. Mojos are the best here, thin slices of potato's. It's almost like a flat french fries. Salad bar, bleh, the lettuce was all brown and nasty in there, you would hope they come and check it once a while to make sure the lettuce is or how clean it is. read more

Today April 14th i took my family in for dinner. I ordered at 5:53pm and sat down like normal. After a long time I noticed that parties that arived after us were being served. Approximately 45 minutes after ordering I asked if our order was up soon. The team member I asked said he would check. The team scrambled around looking puzzled. I asked again and was told it would be five more minutes. By this time my small children were upset seen other families that eat their meals. At roughly ten minutes later as I continued to watch the team try to figure out the situation I decided enough was enough and I walked up to requested a refund. The manager was was called to process the refund of items I did not receive. No attempt to remedy the issue or provide some type of positive customer was made. I was given a refund for items pending. I took my family to our vehicle and then walked back in to get some explanation as to the the issue. The manager said it was and issue on the system that only part of the order was appearing on the screen. This mad enough sense since one of the order had been taken to our table. At this time only after I returned did the manager make an attempt to offer me the meal i never received which i did not accept. I am truly disappointed with the way quality of service has taken a turn. My family and i have been patrons of the Alhambra location for over 40 years. I am sad to say that after this lack of customer service Shakeys may have permanently lost my patronage. read more

Amazing restaurant for spend time with the family, pizza chicken and mojo's perfect combination.

I came here to try the bunch a lunch on a tuesday afternoon when I was relatively empty. I found that the salad bar had very poor looking lettuce and the other items coming out of the kitchen were very limited in quantity. When I think of Shakey's I think of the mojos and during my visit to this particular Shakeys and deciding to buy the bunch a lunch... it took over an hour for mojos come out upon management scrambling to get them as everyone was asking for them! Apart from the mediocre salad I did enjoy my pizza and I did enjoy the chicken that was available to eat. The food was prepared hot and ready and apart from that I really didn't have a problem. The staff came out more than twice and asked us if we needed any more napkins or plates so I found that very professional of this food establishment. I hope to give this place another try and a better review next time read more
