Definitely not what it used to be. Didn't get the lady at the registers name, but assumed she was the manager, she was the only one with a black shirt and wore glasses. But she was not the kindest person to take my order, glad there wasn't a tip option, based on that customer service I didn't give one after I had payed. Then we asked for extra plates and was told we'd be charged extra money for another plate. I'm not going to steal your plastic plate I'll even wash it myself if it's that big of a deal. Then afterward, I asked for anything else we could possibly use, and was finally given paper plates. Then also was asked to leave at 8:05, they closed at 8 and we needed to leave. I have been to this Shakey's many times for numerous grandchildren's birthday parties. We are always welcomed by Mike with a big smile and a warm "welcome!" The restaurant is always clean, the bathrooms are spotless and even the arcade is kept up really well. My family arrived at 8pm, we received our food at 8:30 and were just finishing up by 9pm. We had one pitcher of beer left and our kids still had to cash out on tickets and the employees were already kicking us out. We had to chug our beers and rush the kids to cash out. The girl helping the kids was really rude. One of our kids wanted something for 40 tickets and she only had 38 left on her card so they told her no she couldn't get it. My husband went outside to put stuff in the car and they didn't even let him back in. I get it, 9pm is closing time but at least let your customers finish their food. read more

I've craved Shakey's a couple times this year and I was happy to hear that the bunch-of-lunch option was available at our local Shakey's here in Upland. On our visits, we've been met with friendly staff, clean buffet stations, and a clean dining area. The first time I asked an employee if they could serve a pizza with chorizo (one of my favorites from Shakey's) and he informed me that Shakey's no longer carries Chorizo due to the pandemic. I was disheartened and sad, but I didn't let that ruin my experience. However, I visited again last week and to my surprise, there was chorizo pizza available at the bunch of lunch. It made me very happy with my visit. Docking a star off because it was really muggy and hot inside the dining room on my second visit. Several guests were sweating (including myself) and I decided to cut our lunch short and leave. Right as I was gathering my things to leave, I noticed an employee adjusted the thermostat. Unfortunate timing. In the future, I'll inform the staff if it feels hot in the dining area. read more

We met friends at this location for happy hour. We placed our order, pizza, chicken and mojo's. The table we wanted was empty but dirty so my husband asked an employee if it can be cleaned. A kind young man came right away and cleaned the table for us. Soon our order was ready and it was brought to our table. The pizza and chicken were hot and freshly made, unfortunately, the mojo's were barely warm but talking and socializing with our friends we overlooked the cold mojo's,. After dinner, my husband did say he wasn't impress with the mojo's, I said, I wasn't either! We've been to other locations and all the food comes out hot and fresh. I usually come here with my family for the weekday lunch buffet. We came here again today for lunch (Christmas Eve) as a matter of fact. The staff that work here have always been exceptionally great and accommodating. If I don't see the kind of pizza I want on the lunch buffet, I tell them what pizza I would like and not only do they happily make it for me, they bring a few slices to my table to make sure I get some. Outstanding customer service here. Outstanding. I notice they always keep the buffet area clean, organized and replenished. This Shakey's location in Upland is a great example of how a restaurant should be managed/operated. They obviously know what they are doing here. Bunch of lunch is good. There is no advertised price, which I think is weird. It's $13.99 for adults and $7.49 for kids.

We hadn't been to a shakey's in years but came back for the chicken bunch o lunch. Also ordered the shrimp pizza that's been featured. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Ok so I live In Chino and literally drive 30 minutes for better quality food and service. The store manager and I have had the pleasure of pure coincidence knowing for over 20 years . From Culver City to Huntington Park to Now Upland. He provides a warm loving environment that this country still needs and craves and as long as Mr. Jeremiah is cooking in that kitchen we will continue to go. With smiles and full belly's we are there ever other Sunday making memories and enjoying another Shakeys Sunday. First off all I want to let everyone know I only write reviews on business that go above and beyond, top of the line quality and all around goodness to disgusting unacceptable food or service. Nothing in the middle, either your excellent or horrible. Anyways I'm gonna tell you my experience at this Shakeys. I've been a customer for so many years, love the pizza the mojos and the chicken sometimes the food is just below great but today it was just horrible, very disappointed and gross. We order a salad for $7.99 and was eating it I got this nasty flavor in my mouth so I checked the salad to make sure it was ok and it wasn't. It was spoiled. So I went to talk to the manager Mike Esquivel and he made me feel like I was making it up and didn't even apologized. So that was that, we were upset but continued eating our meal when my daughter shows me the cheese shaker, she had just put on her pizza, it was MOLD. We went to talk to the mgr this time he apologized but that was it. He told us that next time he would provide a better experience to compensate for this horrible experience. I don't know what to think. I'm so disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Please be careful if you ever go there. Very disappointed in our recent visit to this location. Came to celebrate nephews birthday with just 3 kids looking forward to the arcade. And AFTER we spent over $120 dollars on dinner kids seen arcade closed off by chairs. Manager said arcade will be up and running in 10 minutes but it NEVER OPENED. He could have been honest and said it wasn't going to open and we would have happily went to different location so kids can enjoy some games. They should have shared that entire arcade was not open- lights were on and machines were making noise- I would hate to think that they just wanted to close as soon as possible. We will not be returning to this location. We even offered to purchase toys so kids could have something. read more

We appreciate our lunch at Shakey's Pizza this afternoon. My wife and I enjoyed a Bunch-a-Lunch (approx. $13 a person) and my kids got to use their personal pizza certificates from school. Mr. Mike (the manager) made things smooth and enjoyable. He also recommended a BBQ pizza to me (I believe it was like their "Firehouse" but with added bacon and BBQ sauce). I enjoyed it (my wife more so)...my recommendation is still the classic "Texas BBQ Chicken". No hate though (I still ate 3 of those slices of the recommended pizza). The rest of staff was on top of things and kept the food coming...again we appreciate it. *I hope that Shakey's can bring back the apple dessert pizza. I've ordered from Multiple Shakeys in the past, and this location is by far the worst! I ordered for pick up. And normally when I order the antipasto salad, we get the nice big family sized salad. However this time we got the salad in a smaller container. The lettuce was welted and browning. There was way more toppings than the salad part itself. And no cheese added. Definitely not enough for a serving of 4 people and for 11 bucks, what a ripoff. Secondly the mojos were not even crispy. Definitely will not be going to order from this place again. read more

Ok I have to give a star I rather give 0. Food was ok I ordered 2 22ounce beers we went to play games and I asked not to throw out the beers there was half of each left. Disappointed is what I am. My family and I love Shakeys! We do a lot of Shakeys take out from this location but mostly dine in at others. This week after my son's band concert we decided to head over, we arrived around 8:30 p.m. and the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered our usual 2 pizzas, 8 piece mojos and wings. My husband and I sat and waited while our kids played in the arcade area. Our food slowly came to our tables and most we had sat at the kids table. I get up to serve my youngest and right away I notice the mojo potatoes are hard, they are REHEATED! Gross! I go to the front were although we are the only ones there no one tends to me until I practically walk into the kitchen. They remake them. I look at the chicken same freaking thing REHEATED! The only fresh thing was the pizza and the wings of course because wings aren't something people usually order. As for the restaurant, it's pretty dingy and dirty and just not well kept.
