We had the Beef Bulgogi bowl and also ordered extra white rice. The bowl included rice, bean sprouts, zucchini squash, shredded carrots, and purple cabbage. It was hot and delicious! On the menu is the regular size bowl but when I went in to pickup our carryout order, I discovered they also offer a larger bowl for an extra $3. It's about 1 1/2 times the size of regular bowl. The menu at Shaking Bowl is well curated and straight forward. They offer eight different types of bowls, each sounding more delicious than the last item. I loved the ability to customize the base of your bowl though. It was a tough decision between fried rice and noodles. But as is always the case noodles will always win in my book. Got a carry out. Was pretty fast. A little pricy for a lunch but since they food was prepared well and the taste was good I see why it was a little more. A coworker recommended I try out Shaking Bowl and I wasn't disappointed! I ordered the Bulgogi bowl with a side of "Yum" sauce at her recommendation. This was delicious. A bed of rice with several vegetables in sections over the top and covered in the beef. I spread the extra sauce over the top and mixed it all up and it was delicious and filling! Only disappointment was the crab Rangoon I ordered to go along with it was very over cooked and under filled. My coworker ordered the shrimp bowl and said it was delicious as well. Ordered 5 bowls for $72 when we got them home the chicken sweet and sour bowl was basically small frozen chicken nuggets hard breaded no chicken with some generic sweet sauce. We ventured down to the south county area and found some nice hidden gem! This korean-japanese modern fusion fast food style place did not excite me at the beginning. Their ideas are definitely not something innovative. Some items even seem very ordinary such as the salads. Since they just opened recently I will give an in-depth review on all aspect. Location: If you use GPS or google map, it may direct you to some closed off road. The restaurant is actually located at the square next to Shell gas station so beware of that before coming. This place is nice if you live in the south county area. If you live up north or closer to St. Louis, it might be quite a drive down. Inside: Simple fast food style dining area with spacious seatings but I can see this place be very packed on the weekend. Food: They have 3 main choices. You can either order a bowl with rice/noodle base, salad bowl or chicken tenders/chicken wings. We had a party of 5 so we were able to try a variety of options from the menu. We had bulgogi bowl, fire bowl, tofu salad and jaeyook bowl. We also added 5-piece boneless chicken with ssamjang sauce and 5 -piece chicken wings with jala-mango sauce. Out of the bowls, I think the bulgogi bowl is the tastiest! All of them taste very good in general. The portion is huge for the price! They gave you a lot of meat so you would be very very full if you finish all of it. For me, that portion is 2 meals worth. Tofu salad is pretty decent. They also put a lot of tofu. I recommend ordering boneless chicken because the pieces are way bigger than the wings with bones. I swear to god one piece of that boneless chicken equal 2 pieces of regular chicken tender at other places. Ssamjang sauce was really good with it as well. Service: This is a family-owned business so they are very nice and friendly. However, the amount of orders could be overwhelming for them as food can take awhile to come out. I knocked off a star for that reason. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here. I would see myself come here pretty often if it were located closer to where I live. It's definitely but I wouldnt drive an hour back and forth just for it. They have catering options and it looks very reasonable. If I have a party I would definitely consider ordering from there. They are also available through doordash so I guess you can also do delivery. I'm all about supporting small local business so I hope people can check out this gem! I usually don't post reviews but I had to post one for this restaurant. The atmosphere is very welcoming and timely and the lady who helped us, who I assume is the owner, is so nice and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I ordered the beef bulgogi while my boyfriend ordered the Jaeyook, both dishes were great and had a lot of flavor. We also got the tteokbokki (star of the show), and it was perfect. We also got some chips as a side for free. If you are wanting some great Korean food and experience nice owners, come here! read more

Pretty typical Asian cuisine. I ordered the chili shrimp. The shrimp tasted good. The fried rice wasn't what I expected, just rice and some sauce. Veggies were fine. I felt it needed more spice. Just a few people there on a Saturday at 12:30. Just average. I didn't have to wait long for the food and they did offer individual water carafes for the table, which was nice.
