Anyway, even though they don't take my insurance I've been to see Dr. Eckel 3 different times within the past couple years and have always been pleased. The wait time for an urgent care type place has been amazingly fast and Dr. Eckel is to the point and good with his bedside manner. My boyfriend has been as well and Dr. Eckel was no nonsense as well. He may seem a little hurried, but he is willing to answer any and all questions I think he's just trying to keep wait times down by keeping a fast work pace otherwise. When I was in for a kidney stone (2x), he didn't perform any tests he felt were gonna just add on costs but weren't necessary and for my UTI he had me in and out with an antibiotic prescription that did the trick in no time flat. They are open on Saturdays and each time my visit has been less than my ER copay would've been since I couldn't have waited till Monday to see my regular doctor.

Well I regret it because it has been nothing but a nuisance since. I showed up right at open on a Saturday and was promptly seen. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics. I called the pharmacy at lunch to see when they would be ready but they informed me 1st choice had called in the wrong thing and needed to contact the pharmacy to correct it. Well they closed at 12 and did not reopen until Monday. 2 full business days later and numerous phone calls to 1st choice (on hold for 40min and counting as I write this) and still no corrected prescription. This is crazy and ridiculously unprofessional. Their error has led to me having to wait days in pain with an infection.

Check-in and triage we quick and on point. We were asked to sit and wait. 4 1/2 hours later we were told that they just had too many people. We were waiting all that time for an ER room. To add insult to injury, the drew blood a second time, three hours after the first time -- no explanation.

Fortunately, they were proactive and did not have the usual three reams of paperwork to fill out. The checked on my VA health care benefits and I ended up using another insurance as the path of least resistance but they gave me the number to call to get the VA thing squared away. This has got to be the closest to a small-town doctor's office of old that I could imagine. All family run, from the front desk to the nurse to the doc himself. They listened, they gave suggestions to help mitigate the discomfort. The only thing they couldn't do was speed up the recovery.....they can't control time. What they do do is respect your time. In and out in a jiffy but not rushed at all. They prove medical care shouldn't be an all-day affair. I left there feeling sick but knowing I was on the path to recovery. While I don't live there, I do visit, and if I need an MD I know the OneStop I am going to make and it is at One Stop Medical......Thanks. The front desk person had me fill out one double-sided form for personal details and medical history. I was sitting under the TV which was stating a movie which was distracting me from form filling so I asked if they could mute it for me and they did. I put my preferred name on the form and said "please call me Ocean". They took my copay, and by the time that was done a nurse called for Ocean and took me back and got my vitals. Dr Cunningham saw me and quickly identified the right treatment for me and sent it to the pharmacy.
