When she wasn't sure about the details she sent up Joshua right away. He quickly became someone we were comfortable around, much like a friend. The reps at SC get that it's a momentous occasion and they don't just spend time... Joshua really invested in us with every detail that I wanted in the ring. He gave us information and visuals to tell what's important: 1. They don't use gimmicks with the lighting to show off their materials. 2. Gave us brochures that educated us on how to find a ring/right diamond. 3. SC offers a life time warranty, free re-sizing, upgrades... that's something you can't beat. It helps me feel secure about buying the ring from them. After two visits (and tons of research to compare with other diamond retailers), we decided this was it! We spent days looking at rings and had horrible service at a few places. When we walked into this particular store, we were immediately greeted at the door by Lynne. She was professional, very intuitive, warm and comforting and asked us a lot of questions to get to know what we were looking for and how much we wanted to spend. She gave us so many options, made us feel at ease and never judged us once by how little or more we wanted to spend. She was very personable and up-sold us in a way that didn't make us feel bad. I recently moved from WA to NV and my wife needed some work done on a necklace I got her from there. No problem. They mailed me a return postage insured box and off it went. The saga of my engagement ring is finally over. April 8th my fiancee proposed to me with a ring from Shane Co. He didn't want to ruin the surprise; since I don't wear rings he didn't have any way to get my ring size so it was just the sample size basic band. That weekend we went to either get it sized or shop for bands. Here is where my first piece of advice comes in, do not go here on the weekends in the afternoon. Not only do they have no pressure sales they have negative pressure sales, there will be too many other customers there for anyone to have a chance to help you. Even if you do have someone attending to your needs you will have to push people out of the way to see what they have to offer. I picked a new ring to have the diamond mounted in and we placed the order and dropped off the current ring to have it resized so I would have something to wear while the custom ring was made. Since it was a custom ring we would have to wait to find out the final price and how long it would take to get the ring. We were given a date by which we would get a call. We never got a call. My fiancee called back and they had no record that we had placed an order, they had just totally lost it. We went back in to pick up the sized ring and at this point I barely remembered what the ring I had tried to order looked like. They showed me one that they thought it was, I was unconvinced. I decided to just wait until I had more time to look now that they can't find the ring I originally ordered. After my last few visits I decided to go in as soon as they opened up and that was a much better idea. There were only a few other people in the showroom and I was actually able to get a good look at all the rings. A salesperson helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Their ordering snafu turned out in my favor; once I was able to actually see all of the rings I found one I knew was the perfect ring. I placed the order, this time they actually called when they said they would. They gave us the arrival date and I waited. It arrived a week late, though they did call us to warn us that it would be late. I dropped it off last week to get it sized and now finally almost 12 weeks later I have the perfect engagement ring. Overall it was a frustrating experience though I did end up with a great ring in the end. I had originally thought I would want something cool and custom or antique but they did have enough of a selection where I was able to find a very cool ring. They do have some nice perks like being able to trade in your jewelry and free sizing. Maybe if their prices are a lot cheaper than other jewelers it might be worth dealing with the inconveniences, unfortunately I can't really speak about the pricing. read more

I bought gold a ring from these guys once, which was alright, but was extremely disturbing was what they told me about the ring I ended up not buying. I'm very glad I did not purchase my fiancee a diamond ring from them. I just had a feeling they were saying whatever they thought I wanted to hear. The sales rep told me their diamonds come from 'conflict free' sources, and went on all about the wonderful Kimberley Process and how well it works to make sure their stones come from only "clean" sources. But then I did more research on the topic and found out they were obviously lying. The Kimberley Process is a failure, and their source - De Beers - is the dirtiest of all. Anyone who is so willing to look their customer straight in the face and tell such blatant lies about their products does not deserve any business. They can smile and act nice all they want, but socially concioius shoppers should know better. read more

I visited the store on 6/20 around 2:45 pm. There was an associate who waved at me inside the store and was about to mouth that she could help me but stopped because the guy at the door immediately stopped me and said please wait right here. I waited in the lobby, then he asked what I was here for. I said I just want to get my ring cleaned, then the guy said, you can text the phone number for curbside services and then handed me the flyer. I replied that I am already here, why can't I just go in to get my ring cleaned. He said that's how do we do it now and asked me to text outside. I couldn't even text in the lobby. Then another girl walked into and the guy just greeted her right away and let her in. I felt like I was denied entry because I was wearing a mask. I read Tom's message that "in addition to dropping by, you can also schedule...". That means customers can still visit. The store was nearly empty at that time, and there were more associates than customers. I don't want to just hand my ring to someone who I don't even know at the door. After looking at what their competitors offered (Jared & EE Robbins), all I found was that I wasted my time at those places. After deciding to place all my time and effort in the Shane Company, I found that I had invested wisely. I have worked in retail and know how valuable excellent customer service is and I found that here. Stephanie and Albert did an an excellent job at providing this to me. I was new at shopping for engagement rings and diamonds and they took the time to make sure I was buying something I liked (and something my, then, girlfriend would like as well) and that it was something of value. I must have went to the store at least a handful of times with something to change and they were always understanding and willing to assist me. When it was all said and done, I got a setting that I really REALLY liked and when I proposed to my, now, fiancee, the sparkle in both the diamond and her eyes complimented each other very well. My fiance and I came here today to look for wedding bands. It is our fault for coming on a Saturday, but we work M-F so when else can we come? There were so many people being helped at every part of the counter we could barely even look at any of the jewelry. We found some nice men's bands in the corner and stood there for about 15 min trying to get someone's attention but all of the employees were helping customers or busy going back and forth. I understand this is just part of having a busy/popular store, which is good for them, but not the kind of environment where I want to make one of the most sentimental purchases of my life. After we couldn't get help we thought we'd try to look for women's bands but again the counters were so crowded I couldn't figure out where the kinds of bands I was looking for even were. I gave up and walked out after feeling an anxiety attack coming on from all the people and frustration. I was NOT disappointed. My first sales associate was Linda (I hope I got that right because she was lovely.) and she showed me all the rings in rose gold (that's the gold I wanted) that fit my criteria. After about 6 rings I finally found the one that made my heart say yes! It was magnificent and totally "me". She had a shadow that day because he was new and he was also really warm and welcoming. So after I said yes to a ring I got to kinda go off on my own so they could talk about money and stuff my boyfriend didn't really want me to worry about, so I went to the lobby where they offer really yummy beverages and got myself a hot chocolate til they came and got me. They were so cute about everything and really played with my personality and weren't stuffy. We learned a lot about diamonds next from Shawn who was kind and informative and we made our selection of which diamond I wanted and that was that! The ring was mine! I used to really like this place, but their Covid measures are just too much. I came in for a simple cleaning to upkeep my warranty and was forced to wait in a long line while there were multiple associates just standing around talking amongst themselves in the main room where people used to be able to browse while they wait. Also, if you have to take my temperature at the door why am I forced to wear a mask and take all these extra measures. Overkill. When shopping at Shane Co. please make sure that you are receiving 100% CORRECT information. My sister recently went in to find a wedding band for her fiancé (primarily because Shane Co. is one of the only places that sells demascus). Upon purchase she was told "if it doesn't fit and you need a 10 1/2 instead of an 11, just bring it back and we can exchange it. It'll just take like 2 weeks, no problem." When bringing the ring back she was told that that particular style doesn't come in half sizes. A bride is stressed enough which means she shouldn't have to deal with employees handing out false information. Feeling defeated, she got her money back and will not return. Any friends or family of ours will forever be told to stay away from Shane Co. Shane Co. please be sure that your employees are 100% knowledgeable on the products you sell. My fiancé and I went into Shane company on a Wednesday to look at rings for our wedding in 5 days. We came with some old Shane company jewelry to trade in for new rings for the both of us. After some initial trouble pulling up the information on the old jewelry, they persevered and were able to find it. Larry was our salesperson and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He listened to what we were asking for and used his own intuition to find us several rings and gems we liked. He must have made trips to the back room 10 times to find that special piece just for us. I went to Shane Co after visiting Kay Jeweler's Outlet, Zales Outlet, Tiffany's etc. I really liked my experience. I was approached by a sales rep quickly and she was not pressuring me and showed me many different kinds of rings in the store. She was helpful in finding a good setting style and adding a stone in the middle to envision what it would look like. I chose to do a sapphire and she was not judgmental about that and was very encouraging. She even cleaned our couple rings even though we didn't buy it there! She looked at the stone we had to see if it was a diamond and was very kind to explain what the stone is and how much she thinks it will be worth. I found a good setting and stone I liked and it took a week to get it made. The warranty seems very good too: any stone will be replaced for free if we keep coming back for 6 month inspections (but they said they are not strict on that), free cleaning, free tightening of prongs, etc. And the trade in policy seems good that we can trade the rock for $1 more and the metal for about double. We will see if this warranty holds up well :) read more

We bought our engagement ring here and only a year and a half later 3 prongs either broke off or were cracked. We lost a family heirloom diamond due to poor craftsmanship and the manager of this place said, "We don't want to make a profit off your loss, so we'll offer you 10% off the next diamond." Terrible customer service, no empathy, and no good better offer to help us replace something that was irreplaceable and lasted 25 years prior. We will NEVER come back here, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone I know. We decided to go to West Coast Diamond and Gem and we will never turn back. They understand how to keep customers happy and actually adhere to "lifetime warranties". read more

My boyfriend and I went to Shane Co today to look at engagement rings. It was the worst experience I have ever had. We walked in and nobody greeted us. So we walked over to the engagement rings. After a couple of minutes, a sale rep that was helping another couple comes up to us and tells us that she'll get a sale rep to help us. So we wait. And we wait. 15 minutes later, I am now irritated that it has taken this long. Finally, we decide that if no one wanted to help us then they must not really want our business. And frankly, we wouldn't want to give them our business. As we are walking out the door, two sale reps finally come up to us and ask us if we've been helped. Now, I'm visibly upset at the experience we've just encountered and I simply explained that "No, we've been waiting for 15 minutes and no one has come to help us and now we just want to go." Although both associates apologized, it has left such a horrible taste in my mouth and I will never go back there ever again. They may not work on commission but perhaps they should work on providing better customer service. read more

I really like what they have to offer regarding their selection, warranty and upgrade policies. However, both times I've come here to pick up jewelry that I purchased here and had serviced here (and spent thousands of dollars on here), my items were not ready when they were scheduled for pick up. The first time this happened was back at the end of 2015, and I was told they never run behind! However 2 years later the EXACT same thing happens. Not only that, but both times I called the shop the afternoon of scheduled pickup and confirmed everything would be ready on time. Please don't tell your clients their items will be ready on a day and time when you clearly can't hold yourselves to it. It's really disrespectful to your customer's schedules and makes them believe that once you have taken their money, you don't care about their time. read more

I had a really unfortunate experience here which was all turned around by Kristie (I think her name is - I wrote it down but accidentally lost the paper!). My husband and I bought our rings in 2014. He bought a titanium ring. At the time, the person who sold us the rings told us that we could exchange them at any time and get another ring, as long as we paid double the price. We would get the original ring's value we paid as a credit. Earlier this year, I took our rings in for their 6 month cleaning/inspection. My husband had lost a little weight and wanted me to double check on that policy of exchanging the ring. The woman who helped me said, "Yes, of course, no problem!" while looking at my husband's ring. A month later we came in and were told, no, we couldn't exchange with a titanium ring. This was really disappointing as that was one of the main reasons we bought it in the first place, and two associates had now told us we could do that. The person who helped us was also a little rude about it - like we were trying to pull one over on them. A few months later we decided to come in and speak to a manager about it. We came in and explained the situation, in a very nice way. Kristie (I believe) confirmed it was OK to do and then immediately apologized and let us exchange the ring! That really turned around our experience with Shane Company. I would love to give five stars, but I'm giving four because it'd be great if there was more consistency among the staff here. It was great to feel like a valued customer at the end, but in between we felt like we were just a nuisance. I would definitely recommend buying from Shane Co., just be careful to do your research ahead of time so you know exactly what you're getting. read more

After visiting typical chain stores with a friend we went to the Shane Co in Scottsdale. We had an amazing experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We weren't pressured at all. Since then I've moved to Seattle and went to the Lynwood location. The service here has been subpar. After finally flagging someone down to have my rings serviced the lady would continuously look around and barely listen. At times she stopped me mid-sentence to help someone else. The store at the time was mildly busy and I understand the sales people need to play a zone offense but wait for a polite time to interrupt. I ask a lot of questions but try to be respectful and let whoever know it's just my curiosity. When I asked questions she also responded like I was asking dumb questions, something I never encountered at the Scottsdale location. When I picked up my rings I had a similar experience. read more

This is an excellent first stop for an engagement ring shopper. Linda was very helpful and not at all pushy. She did try to sell to me, but you need to expect that if you are looking for jewelry. I felt it was a low pressure environment, and the best thing is the amount of time they are willing to spend with you to teach you what to look for in a diamond. I spent at least a good hour just looking at different diamonds and settings to get an idea of what I liked, and that was extremely valuable! They helped me see what I could get in my budget range, and which of the Diamond 4 C's I could skimp on without giving up beauty. In the end I decided against getting a diamond because I could not justify the potential for purchasing a conflict diamond due to the corruption in the international diamond certifying process.
