Beef CF01. Beef with Vegetable Chow Fun, SP08. Hot and Sour Soup

I've dined at Shanghai Garden many years ago. I had forgotten that the quality of the food is good. I ordered from Door Dash the hot and sour soup and the dry style beef chow fun. The soup was really good with the perfect balance of spicy and sour. Most places use too much vinegar. I could taste the "wok hei" in the beef chow fun that definitely satisfied my craving. I will surely dine in on my next visit.

The is cozy Chinese restaurant in East Sac across McKinley Park. I've been here for both dine-in and take out. The restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating for a large group if needed. Doesn't take long to be seated or have your order taken. The staff have been nice and the food has been tasty. Recently I got the Fish with Salt and Pepper to go and in my opinion you can get more food for a cheaper price at other places. I don't think this restaurant is bad at all or "not worth it", I just think if you are willing to go a bit further to a different restaurant you can get a better deal. I'd suggest checking them out. I really like their wonton soup - the wontons were flavorful and I liked the inclusion of the veggies.

Parked across the street as we were signing documents that evening - getting out of the car we could smell the delicious aroma of so many different spices coming together. It was definitely a no-brainer deciding to eat dinner here. The food did not disappoint! Pictured is the beef chow fun, egg drop soup, honey walnut shrimp, and shrimp fried rice. Everything was delicious!!! Cooked with love! So flavorful, not oily and well portioned. Staff was friendly! Had a full house and line of to-go orders. They checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. Located on the corner of Alhambra & H. A small parking lot with lots of street parking. Will definitely return to enjoy again!

Here is my two cents on the quality quantity and cost of this restaurant... This was delivered in a timely matter, but the driver could not follow up my simple instructions on locating my apartment .. Grubhub was responsible for a delivery. I ordered hot and sour soup , Szcechquan style chow mein. Barbecue pork fu yung. The hot and sour soup was just mediocre at best ... the chow mein had maybe if at best 2 ounces of meat it was mostly noodles, onions and bell peppers. There was hardly any hint of spicy whatsoever.... I was given three pancakes of some matter I had no idea what it actually was. .. I was also given a soy sauce, thicken with cornstarch infused with some onions.. Fortunately, GrubHub refunded my... they fail to explain what this meal actually was and it was definitely not worth no $17.. I do not recommend this restaurant. It is over price and mediocre address. .

It was our first time here and we wanted to try it out for my father's birthday, who loves Chinese food.I appreciated that they had lots of variety as well as the basic dishes. We didn't know where to start so we asked Luis, who was kind enough to run thru their best selling dishes. He passed by again and showed us what the dishes looked like too. He was super attentive and personable. He was very kind and made us feel super welcome and taken care of. The food was fantastic. We tried the - Mongolian bbq ribs - spring rolls - crab Rangoon - honey walnut shrimp - salt and pepper calamari - pork fried rice - Mongolian beef - Orange chicken - chow mein - green beans Everything was delicious. 10/10. Highly recommend the honey walnut shrimp and salt and pepper calamari. For our leftovers, we even had another server who kindly packed our food. Idk when we last had that happen at a restaurant. It was so nice! The interior decoration and ambiance was very cozy and elegant at the same time. We also tried the banana cream and chocolate cream - and these were so yummy! When we were walking out of the restaurant, several team members thanked us for coming. It made us feel very special. Thank you Frank Fat's team (including Luis) for making our dining experience here one-of-a-kind!! We'll be back for sure. We hope you continue to be very successful! Everyone go support them.

The good - my order was prepared quickly, and the amount of fish was very generous. The fish was tasty and spicy. The house chow mein that I also ordered had decent (read below) flavor. The bad - the salt and pepper fish had a great batter, but I feel they're battered too much, and the actual fish piece inside is tiny. My house chow mein didn't have a single shrimp in it. Lots of beef, which was good, but the char smell from the beef was the only thing you could taste on the noodles. It's almost like the chef cooked the noodles on whatever the beef was cooked on. The noodles we had ordered from here a month ago had very good flavor, but not a one note beef flavor. There was a lot of beef and chicken in the house chow mein, but zero shrimp means the cook either forgot or they didn't have them and thought it would be ok to add more beef. Either way, I paid extra for my selection, and didn't get it. Am I Pissy? Yes. Am I honest? Also a Yes. 3 stars this trip, probably my last.
