Combination plate: Sesame chicken and teriyaki beef
    Tiffany B.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Visited this hidden gem in the Freeport area. It's not as flashy as all the other businesses in the area. You can tell it's a mom & pops type of establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came in and was the only customer at the time. The couple that works there are very kind and have big smiles. I got the combination plate with sesame chicken and beef teriyaki. When I ordered, they gave me an estimated wait time of 10 mins, which was fine, but I'm sure it was done in less than 10 mins. I thought it was all yummy. The sauce, the way the proteins were cooked, the amount of rice and the cabbage salad. The plate was over $20, but I'm willing to ignore that for this restaurant.

Regular size teriyaki shrimp bowl (~$12) vs Small sesame chicken bowl (~$8) not sure if prices are accurate. Portions are pitiful..

I've driven by this place a million times and finally stopped in to try it. I hardly ever see cars here, so always wondered how they stay in business. I read reviews and it seemed decent, so I passed up all the other great options (including my fav place across the street) to give this place a shot. I won't be back. I got a small sesame chicken bowl. They give bigger portions for kids meals.. it's pitifully small. Talk about shrinkflation. The teriyaki sauce is hella strong - very sweet and salty. I prefer the thick teriyaki sauce at Japanese restaurants.. this one is watery and not good. Overall just very disappointed.

I have heard wonderful things so I decided to try this local spot. To start, I was pleasantly welcomed by the cashier with politeness and a smile. The owners and the cashier are very nice and welcoming people. Don't be foolish and let the dated outside fool you, this spot is a lovable local gem! The server/cashier came to check on me multiple times, which truly emphasized their care for their customers. The food came relatively quick for I only had to wait about 5-ish minutes. I loved the chicken teriyaki bowl that I ordered, which came with tsukemono, a simple and deliciously refreshing cabbage topping. The food was straight forward, yet delicious and full of flavor, the chicken was quite tender as well. The way they prepared the chicken in thin-julienne-like cuts was unique and allowed the teriyaki sauce to cover more surface are, truly fusing the grilled umami flavor of the neatly cooked chicken with the dark and flavorful teriyaki sauce. Using my best judgement, the prices of the food is about the same you would find anywhere else. For the plates/ bowls they offer 3 different sizes. Some other menu items they feature are burgers, fish fry, beef, and chicken katsu. Additionally the restroom that is out back was clean and ready to use(kindly ask to use the restroom and you'll be given a key). The inside of the restaurant was clean without a speck of food or liquid in site. The tables, ground, and even on top of the trash cans were as clean as a brand new car. Overall, I will absolutely be returning to this local gem and am looking forward to trying their other menu items. If you find yourself nearby and looking for a bite, consider giving this Korean-family-owned restaurant some love!

Food was good as always, fresh and hot. Service was fast and friendly. We dined in, it was a little warm for me inside and the seating is cramped but over all very pleased.

The Fish and Chips and a side of pot stickers! So delicious!

I ordered the fish and chips and the pot stickers and they were both excellent. So good here! Every time I've Chicken Teriyaki Bowl ate here I was so pleased I did! I would highly suggest this to anyone who likes good fresh food! I always take it to go but the restaurant isn't bad it's clean!

Like many stated in the previous comments this building isn't very inviting, and the tables and chairs are outdated I work in the freeport area every Friday and would drive pass this restaurant every week and finally decided to give it s try. I support local mom and pop restaurants. the gentleman at the front i assume is the owner and he was really nice. The food was flavorful and good portion size as well.

I got there before noon on a Sunday, so I had great selection. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I impulse purchased a lot on my long awaited first visit. I think I spent at least $50. Bill adds up fast. Price range is $2 to $9.50 as of June 2026. The most common price or mode is $4.75. There is a rewards punch card. I think you get a stamp for every $15 you spend. These were my favorites: * Sukiyaki Beef Roll $5 * Unagi Shrimp Roll $6.50 * Mayo Wasabi Salmon Inari $4.75 * Unagi & Egg Musubi $5.25 Depending how large each item is and how hungry you are, I would say order 1-3 items. Sukiyaki Beef was my favorite filling. Other Yelpers liked the Kurobuta Sausage the best, but I don't love its texture. I plan to try the onigiri one day. The SPAM & Bacon Onigiri and Spicy Beef Onigiri look appetizing. Some ingredients can fall out or fall apart, so they can be messy to eat. If you use sauces, that could lead to drips. The rolls fully wrapped in nori seaweed sheets and the musubi are the better handheld items. You can get fresh soy milk and Chinese herbal teas here. I would be interested in trying the well-rated Prunella tea in the future. Small barebones restaurant with limited seating: 2 tables for 2 and 2 long benches. Most customers order to go. There's an area with sauces (Unagi, Teriyaki, Yuzu, Sriracha, Soy), condiments, sauce containers, utensils, and napkins.

I saw spam musabi & my wife ordered several just bc we wanted some the day before but the business we visited was out. My bad anyway for not searching earlier in the day. They had lots of variations of musabi so you can basically choose what you want. Best time to come is when they first open. I think personally. The ambiance of this business is very cute, neat, organized & clean. I took multiple photos of it inside but if you have questions I'm sure the employee there can assist you. Perfect for those picnics or a snack for a future road trip. Even though Oto's is just diagonally across the street they have totally different varieties of items on top of the rice for you. One must check this small business out. It's super kawaii & unique! It looks like they open everyday too. Parking is limited in this strip mall so best to shop early! What are you waiting for?

Before that, I remember when this spot used to be Tasty House. Small parking lot shared with a smog station off of Stockton Blvd between Fleming and Chandler/66th, a block south of Florin. Super small dining room capacity too, I'd say maybe less than 50 people? I've also tried their pork katsu appetizer and caramel matcha with salted cheese cream. This most recent visit, I was torn between the katsu or katsu curry donburis, but ultimately went with the tamagoyaki unagi don and a caramel milk tea. Shared the chicken karaage which was perfectly breaded, crispy, thick and juicy with every bite just like last time. Honey mustard dipping sauce on the side. Also shared one sushi taco (this time salmon/sake) and Mom got the beef gyudon. Other than matcha or milk tea, they also have seasonal drinks like guava, butterfly tea, ube, peach oolong, Japanese coffee, etc. Next time might go for a ramen to try or that rich curry udon dish. I will also say a sushi taco is easier to eat than a handroll or a sushi burrito. The wooden spoons were interesting for the rice bowls. The portions are pretty big and this cute little spot in South Sac is worth checking out! Open 11:30am-9pm daily.

The restaurant is super cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and shaded which is perfect for warmer Sacramento months. They have a variety of menu items including a build your own bowl opton, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, loaded fries, musubi and an udon special. I ended up ordering the Umami Udon with special chicken as my protein ($13.50), a Build Your Own Bowl with fried rice, katsu chicken, the triple katsu sauce, and stir fried veggies with "The Works" ($16.50), and Musubi ($8.75). The staff was super friendly and helped me make some decisions for my order and recommended the umami udon special, which I'm so happy about. The food was made fresh and took a little bit, but was packed with care and was nice and hot. I took it home to enjoy and the food was still hot and the portion sizes were really generous. The Umami Udon was amazing, it had perfectly cooked udon noodles that had a great chew in a creamy teriyaki sauce with smokey bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was a great mix of sweet and savory and lived up to it's umami name. I would order this again and again, it was so good. The Build Your Own bowl was also delicious and I can see why the chicken katsu is a customer favorite. The veggies were fresh and the fried rice was really flavorful. The Spam Musubi had thick slices of spam with a nice marinade and came with sauces for dipping. I'll definitely be back again soon, and while I want to explore more of the menu the umami udon is happening again!

I don't always know what to order at new places - so I liked that they had signs for specials as well as "favorites." We ordered the Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Oliver's Favorite which was Spam Musubi and Spam and Bacon Fried Rice and Mom and Dad's Forbidden Feast. Everything looked and tasted really good! Obviously, it would have been much better had we actually eaten in the restaurant, but still no complaints once we got it home. Spam Musubi is one of my favorite things to eat so I could have downed like 5 of them! Portions were huge too - they even have a 100 year old teriyaki recipe! Overall, I would definitely come back and try other items! Staff were also very friendly, personable and gave great recommendations! Check them out!

Last time I went and checked, it was about an hour wait so I joined it and did some grocery shopping nearby before going there. I've had everything on the menu so it's up to the point where it depends on what I'm feeling. Everything on the menu is different so it's not too hard to choose. If I want something soupy, I'll go for the crab udon, if I want rice, the fried rice, something full of flavor, the Banh Mi Chao, something light, then the Banh Khot (good option since they don't make Banh Xeo on the weekends). The last time I went 07/04/2026, I noticed on the wall they were having a special, Bun Bo Hue, which I love when I go to pho restaurants. I'm not sure if it's new or I've been blind this whole time, but it did not disappoint. It was full of flavor, and it was nice that they put the spicy paste on the side for you to adjust the spiciness. I love spicy foods but one of my friends do not, so it was easy for us to enjoy our meal. It was also not just a spicy sauce to add; there was a past along with it. Shrimp paste maybe? I didn't ask, but it enhanced the flavor, so I recommend using it. Their sister restaurant, Me's Kitchen is next on my list to try. Can't wait!

We opted for mild spice on this. I would order this again. -Chicken pad thai: Done very well! Some places the pad thai is too sweet, but this one was very balanced and had a good tamarind flavor. Medium spicy was a bit on the spicy side, but perfect for me! Would order this again. -Duck larb: Unique, but I couldn't tell it was duck. My partner enjoyed this more than I did. The portion for the larb was on the smaller side and it came with some lettuce, radish, carrots, cucumbers. -Mee kati ground pork: A very unique dish that not many Thai restaurants seem to have, in which it came with noodles, and a variety of toppings like beans sprouts, lettuce, green beans, peanuts, and cilantro. It came with a fermented curry gravy, and it delicious! I would totally order this again. -Green Thai tea: Quite fragrant and not too full on half and half like some other places have it. This was the first time it has ever been like this. We always order the glass noodles and this time, we did not find little crab chunks like we have in the past. Maybe it was an oversight or forgotten? Flavor was still there but definitely not of the same quality. The Bo Ne was still yummy. Now, the bo tai chanh was so good before, this time there was barely any beef. For the price, and the name of the dish, I expect it to be a lot of beef or at least a decent amount.
