I would say that their food represents a combination of primarily "authentic" Sichuan cuisine while also offering dishes like General Tso's chicken and Mongolian Pork and even a couple of Chinese-American dishes like Cream Cheese Rangoon. There's something here for everybody and it's all excellent! Last night, my wife and I ate at the restaurant for the first time, and the meal was perfect! I ordered the 3 Savory Pepper Chicken, sautéed bok choy, and Shredded Pork with Baby Bamboo. The 3 Savory Pepper Chicken has the perfect "mala" flavor you expect in so many Sichuan-style dishes - hot and numbing with excellent flavor. The bok choy was cooked to just the right texture, and the shredded pork was a great choice, especially for those who do not want spicy flavor. The service last night was excellent! Despite the restaurant being quite busy making take-out and delivery orders, we still received our meal quickly and without any problems. This was our first time ordering from here because of the high ratings, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. The ordering process was frustrating--you have to download an app called Dine. While the app's menu was better than the restaurant's own website, it wasn't actually taking online orders. We placed a pickup order, but there were still service and processing fees, which felt odd for takeout. When I arrived for pickup, the order wasn't ready due to their system being down. They also didn't provide condiments like soy sauce, which was surprising. We ordered the sesame & orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, and chicken stir fry noodles. The rice was undercooked, and the chicken dishes were dry. The stir fry noodles were the best item--flavorful and well made. Portions were average, but we also didn't receive any fortune cookies. Gosh I was super excited when I found this place. I mean excited to the point where I came 3x a week. Eating the same things. Pineapple shrimp fried rice. Yeah it was that good. Previous event: There has been some errors with my egg rollls. I paid for 2 and received one. And the one I got was bad and cold. She only agreed to replace one. Um. Wasn't to satisfied with that. This particular night my son wanted simply fried rice with egg. (No veggie no meat. ). Rice and egg ONLY. is $13. I order the same pineapple shrimp fried rice. The fruits were the core part of the pineapple, not good. And my son order was noodles only. When I call she told me on the phone she can replace within 20 minutes or come back another day. She told us to keep the noodles. Which if she wanted that back I would never ever order from there again for several mental reason. I already don't eat off a public flatware. And she don't offer any plastic ware. So definitely can not take my son school meals from here. No plastic ware I asked for duck sauce. She says she don't have any. I paid nearly $30 for rice and eggs (little hard core pineapples and tiny shrimp) and no duck sauce. I flew back there because I believe it'll need to be within the 20 minutes. We get there and had to wait for 20 minutes. Which is what she was NOW saying while we were at the store. Something was going on in their kitchen. And ppl were coming in collecting large bags of food. And I'm waiting on rice I paid before. And my food is cold at home. I asked if she had duck sauce and can I get 2-4 packets. She gave me the rest. 8 packets. THIS IS THAT ISH I BE TALKING ABOUT. Then when my son collect his correct food. And I thank her. While exiting she speaks in Cantonese. Girl bye. You won't see my black face again. Or collect these black coins. I really loved this spot too she has a reward program and all. Yall know I love a loyalty program. Who knows maybe I'll try next year. I've been back several times since my original visit and have been enjoying the menu fully! My recent discovery was their pork dish that looked like pork belly, but had a good chunk of meat beneath the skin. The owner explained that the dish had been steamed with a light light brown sauce on the top completed with bok choy. The entire dish was a fork tender, very decadent and lovely. We have been mourning the loss of @MALA on Fry Road, which folded due to pandemic, but this Sichuan place popped onto our radar. We tried it yesterday, it's a worth successor, and we will be back often. My favorite was Spicy Dan Dan noodles, we ate these so quickly before we have the chance to take a picture. They were loaded with tons of Sichuan peppercorns (mala spice) which make your tongue and lips literally vibrate (fun fact - historical US import ban - From 1968 to 2005, the United States Food and Drug Administration banned the importation of Sichuan peppercorns). Good thing the ban is over because I can't get enough. The fish and tofu was excellent, and also loaded with mala spice. The serving was huge... we took a lot home. If you like Duck N Bao on US 290, you'll like this one too, possible better as it seems more authentic. Yup, when PORK INTESTINES are on the menu, it's authentic! Jennifer says her Uncle, the chef, refuses to Americanize his dishes, he wants to cook them like home in Chengdu. I heartily agree. Keep it up! read more

Everything I've tried here is delicious and has that classic numbing spicy effect that Szechuan food is known for. If you like spicy, this is your spot! Szechuan Chinese is one of my favorites for its diverse flavors and extra spicy kick. There are many places in Houston that do it well, but this place is a hidden gem that needs to be recognized! It's a small place and they make everything fresh to order. The Szechuan spicy chicken (photographed) was glistening from being poured on the plate just seconds before. The eggplant (photographed) was also boiling hot. Not photographed was the Tiger noodle soup (can't remember the exact name)... you can't miss it because it's one of the items with the highest count of little chili peppers next to the name. It was spicy! I personally enjoy that level of heat, but I was sweating! Also tried the spicy wonton which were made in-house and swimming in that spicy oil. They were my favorite item! I think I found my go to Chinese place. I haven't found a Chinese place in the area that I really like enough to order multiple times, but I ordered take out recently and I will order again. The hot and sour soup and general tso's chicken both had a nice kick to it and were flavorful. Everything tasted freshly made. I liked the white rice. It was a medium grain rice vs the regular Chinese restaurant rice that is dry and falls apart. It isn't too expensive, but when I think of Chinese food, I think of $10 or so (pre-inflation brain). The food was ready when we got there 12 minutes later, the inside was very clean. The woman at the register was very polite. We ordered 2 general tso chicken, 1 orange chicken and a Mongolian beef, each entry comes with a carb, so we got 2 white rices and 1 low mein, and we also got a big order of chicken fried rice. The total was about $77, and it fed 6 adults with leftovers. The food wasn't too greasy at all, I really enjoyed it. We were told this is our friends "go-to" for Chinese food. I was patiently waiting and she signaled me that my order was ready.. I asked if they had a loyalty card and she gave it to me without any smile or explanation of how it worked toward rewards... I really feel disappointed because I feel we as human beings should be treated with common courtesy .. greet the customer smile even if you have to force yourself we all have bad days but if it wasn't for us customers you would be out of business..
